Oh Michelle, you have saved me once again! ❤I have a new principal who wants our schedule done in sheets. Even after 31 years in the classroom I was clueless, frustrated, and feeling punk. Now I think I have an idea of how to at least get started! I can’t wait to try again tomorrow 😊. Thank you for always sharing things I need to learn. Your channel was of course the first place I looked!
Michele Emerson--you are a GIRL BOSS!!! I LOVE LOVE your video tutorials! (and your podcasts, your TPT and your youtube channel.) I just want to say I already have been using all google and know how to make sheets but the tips and shortcuts I learn from you are always usable and easy to follow! I am sharing with my teacher colleagues. Thank you for all you do for the teacher community. I also pass your videos to my daughter who has gotten into lifting and macros. You are an absolute inspiration and I love following your journey!
Aww, thank you SO much Alexis! 🖤 I really appreciate you watching and commenting with all your kind words and support! I'm happy you've been able to learn from my tips and thank you so much for sharing with your colleagues! You ROCK! 🖤
I watch your videos because 1. You’re awesome. 2. You love order as much as I do. I didn’t even need to watch this one but holy hell, I got an idea while viewing and just created a checklist that’s gonna make my work so much more organized and satisfying. Who doesn’t like checking shit off lists? Thanks, Michelle!
I would love it if you did a video that showed how to link the sheets to create the missing work that auto populates or could you share where you learned it. Would like to create a weekly work checklist for students where they could see work they need to do for class.
Omggg this was sooo helpful! Thank you for dropping straight gems! Question: how do you set it to where if you check the box all the ones that are not checked will be highlighted?
This was SO helpful! Thank you , Michelle. As an instructional coach, I am working more with data (and Google Sheets) this year than ever before. I learned some tips and tricks. I also would love more Google Sheets Tutorials! Gracias!
You are a goddess. This is the best Exxcel tutorial I have ever watched. It seems like you have slowed down your speech a bit. In the past some of your tutorials were a bit too fast for me. This pace is perfect for me. I love your channel!
Thank you so much. I followed along with you and made a checklist for my childcare schedule. Then I went back and played with it to try other stuff. Thank you so much. So helpful. I'm trying to learn and it was a bit easier to follow you.
I needed this! I have been struggling to collect homework every morning and checking off who has completed it and who has not! I love this! It was easy to follow along as well! I would love more Google Sheets tutorials!
thank from an oldie just entering her 3rd yr of a career change as preschool teacher and tech not so savvy this was amazing i’ll be making so many sheets now hahahaha
Watching this thinking about how inefficient I am! 🤪 I’m the highlight every other row one by one kinda girl. But, not anymore!! Thanks for this awesome tutorial! This will save me so much time!!! Love your content!!
Perfect content as always! I am definitely switching over to google sheets now for all my tracking. I grew up with Excel and got certified in Excel before I graduated college and thankfully most of the ideas are the same. I am now using checklists for my job since there is so much to do and I will definitely miss something without it😂
Thank you so much Russell! I'm with you... I am certified in Excel as well and grew up using it but I've pretty much converted to all things Google now!
❤❤❤❤❤ THANK YOU!! Com and oldie(53) heading into her 3rd yr of a career change as a preschool teacher and a not so tech savvy this was amazing & easy to follow i used it to make a check list for small group. I will be making check lists for everything hahaha 😅thank you again!

This was really helpful! I’ll be rewatching this and trying it out! I would love to see more videos on sheets as I have used them but don’t feel as confident with them as I’d like to be. Anything tips you’re willing to share would be great! Thanks, Michelle!

I did not know one could totally change the format and get rid of all those lines! Finally, something I can make for myself, and adapt with different service minutes for students or mainstream!!!
Michelle, thanks for such an informative video that will help all teachers save time and make their jobs so much easier. As always, your directions are super clear and detailed. I hope you know how much you are appreciated by so many teachers for your ideas. Have a wonderful weekend and a successful week leading up to your birthday and powerlifting meet!
Aww, thank YOU so much Mandy! I appreciate you watching and commenting as always and I hope you're having a great weekend! Thank you for all the well wishes! 🖤
Yes! I love Google Sheets and Forms that generate the sheets! I use it all the time! I made a similar on with my high schooler that track their do nows, classwork, participation, exit ticket and homework. each are 10 points a day and it calculates the points each week :)
Michelle, this tutorial was GREAT! Thank you sooo much. As I’ve said several times before, I learn so much from you. Keep up the great work AND good luck this week on your upcoming competition.
OMG...Thank you. I have been wanting to work more with Google/MS and "chicken" out. I took classes in college and made it through and that's where it stopped.
Hi! I’m brand new to Google Sheets and I’ve watched sooooo many of your videos. You explain everything so well. I was wondering if its possible to have 2 checkmark boxes in 1 column? I can’t figure it out in Google Sheets.
Absolutely! It wasn't my favorite for a while but it's grown on me a LOT because there are so many great ways you can use it! Thank you for watching and commenting Isabel! 🖤
This is amazing. I just made a checklist right along side with you. Thank you. Now I am dying to know how you make it highlight boxes that have not been checked. That would be so helpful. How do you do that? Thank you.
Michelle! Thank you so much for your amazing videos. They are very helpful. I'm wondering, do you use a macro to export the data about the students who haven't completed the assignment to a new sheet? Or do you use a formula? Would it be to much to ask you to teach us to do it? 🙂 Thank you again for your fantastic work.
Thank you for watching and commenting! 🖤 I used a formula but it isn't one I'll be showing because it took a lot of finangling and is a little difficult to explain. However, you can always play around on your own and try to figure it out!
@@PocketfulofPrimary Hahaha, ok. I'll follow your advise and try on my own. Thank you for your kind reply. And don't stop making videos, you're an excellent communicator. ❤️
I am doing this now and loving how it is coming out. However, when I drag the column for numbering, it repeats the number 3 over and over. What am I doing wrong?
Created my first checklist sheets this week, so I learnt a few tricks for next time....but....how do you highlight unchecked boxes?????? Girl, you left us hanging!!
Michelle, Thank you so much! This was exactly what I needed. I will share with my partners. I’ve been teaching for 30 years and your videos along with your podcast with Bridgette has helped me tremendously with my organization and productivity and makes me want to keep teaching. You rock, girl!
Thank you so much for watching and sharing all your kind words Suzanne! We really appreciate your support and are so happy that our podcast (and my videos) have been helpful for you! You rock too lady! 🖤
Yay! I love to see a new video pop up in the morning from you 🤗I can’t wait to get home from my first grade practicum hours to watch today !!! Ty for your content Michelle … ❤Teacher in training ~Sue
Hello Michelle! Great video… so helpful👍. I will be making my lists today! I love the colors of the paper on your bookshelf. Do you have the code/numbers to find them when choosing a color? Thank you for your help. 😊
It would be nice to see how to make polls with students. We need to do an evaluation of the school and I would love if I could read a question and the students would answer it “live”. Do you have any ideas?
I'm sure Bridget is soooo proud of you! :) I was at your live and did this along with her in the last session. I've been wondering if there is a way to write in a cell that also has a checkbox? For example, for collecting student work, I'd love to mark a check when I collect an assessment (my checkboxes are to the left), but then I'd like to add the grade beside the checkbox on the right. Hope that makes sense.
Hi Heidi! I hope you're doing well! I'm actually the one who showed Bridget most of this LOL 😂 But the simple answer is no... you can have a checkbox or text but not both so you would have to have two columns... one for the checkbox and one for the score next to it!
As always, love your videos! Thay are always so helpful. Is there a way to take an existing students name and their student numbers and import it into Google sheets checklist?
Awwm thank you so much Debbie! Yes, you can always import data from other sheets or copy and paste information! Here's a link if you need help with that: support.google.com/docs/answer/40608?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop
