I am consistently getting higher speeds out of my 35c 2300 mah batteries than my much more expensive 100c 2300 mah batteries. They have the same xt60 connectors and I am running them on the same car. I agree, I am seeing the same trend. I re-soldered the connectors to see if they were not soldered correctly, but even after I re-soldered the connectors, I had the same results. It is disappointing that some of these companies are stating false numbers.
Thanks a pantload, Chet, for telling us which brand of yours works well and which one is more expensive and worse. That's really helpful, you're an *amazing* human bean. 🤡🚗🤡🚗🤡🚗 So helpful. You deserve a novel peace prize. Why don't you help out and tell us which one is good and which is bad? Meanie bo beanie.
Another issue with the community is RCs being discontinued and unsupported after just a couple years or RCs that are still being sold having half their parts on permanent back order from every retailer including the manufacturer
I have went through close to a hundred lipo’s in my boats and find there are no lipo brands I have used so far, telling the truth as far as C rating goes. As far as resistance goes I have some batteries with high resistance that go better than others with low resistance.
Are you taking into account the temperature of the battery when testing ? At what temp are the batteries tested ? I ask because a heated battery will have a lower IR than a cool/room temp battery. example a battery of 90f vs 70f
I can tell you that a 4s 9000mah "80c" Zeee brand battery regularly causes LVC activation due to not being able to provide at least 35 C to my Felony. That's sad.
Yeah, if you want to know how good a battery is, use any ARRMA car. I have batteries that perform well in anything else, but as soon as I toss it in the Typhon...it hits LVC cut off very quickly if it is not a great battery and when testing the battery it is nowhere near LVC..they just have that much voltage drop when you squeeze the trigger.
The manufacturers of these batteries should be held to a much higher standard. It’s understandable that these batteries are used for devices that are categorized as “toys”. So it’s easy to inflate ratings with that thought in mind. But did these manufacturers forget that these batteries are being used in toys that can potentially cause great bodily injury? Imagine buying a battery for your remote control flying RC, only to have it fall from the sky because of inflated ratings. I guess it will take for something like that to happen before they are held accountable.
I think this still doesn't prove that Amazon batteries are bad. At the track, I'm looking at what folks are using and I think all of these packs are the same with a different sticker on the outside. My Zeee 2s is the same as my put neighbor's Protek pack. Also my Zeee packs change and discharge evenly every charge. Great performers.
Battery ratings in mAh are like MPG ratings for cars....if you don't go over 10 MPH you'll get the MPG that they claim....and if you only drain your battery mildly, you'll get their top rating....anything more and the ratings will decrease....in both MPG and mAh
I bought a few Zeee batteries for my Losi MX ProMoto and they perform awesome for my style driving, lots of punch and long run time. So I bought a pair of larger (more Mah and more C rating) Zeee batteries to run in my Kraton 8s and it will run awesome for about 5 minutes then hit LVC. Let it sit for a bit and restart the truck and can go again like they were fresh batteries.
I had the same issue with some lectron pro batteries. I think the discharge is too low, your ESC makes the voltage drop so much that the ESC thinks it’s at LVC. Also even if you have great batteries that hit LVC normally, you can turn off your rc and turn it back on and it’ll act fine… for a second before it realizes the battery is dead… so they could just be dead and turning it off and on just resets the LVC status. Maybe get a cheap cell voltage checker to test. Hope this helps man!
I run in the nprc of rc and we draw a lot of current in a very short time. I would love for you to review some of the top batteries we use in no prep to see if they are indeed high performance batteries.
No they are not, look into the good Lipo companies like Onyx, SMC or CHNL (Cheaper) etc. These top tier lipos batters are pushing the limits of what we have ever seen. The cheep Ebay / Amazon lipos, yes. But I would argue they are just for toys but if your a real hobbiest then your going to want some good lipos.
C ratings have been inflated at least 4X over on most affordable packs for as long as ive seen. 100C Zeees are legit 20C, which isnt terrible but its 5x worse than they claimed. Just be real with us, we'll still buy it if it works....
I’ve been buying batteries from zeee for years. I get the capacity listed if not better, and they perform well in my vehicles. Including their 10k 4s packs on a max5 5690 combo in a xrt. I know their C ratings are bullshit, but I’ve still had better from them than the likes of spektrum and traxxas. SPC batteries actually had extreme swelling for me, popped the hard case. Zeee packs have been stable. How ever I have gotten some bad packs from them, but unlike the local hobby shop, you can return these packs to Amazon even with the connectors chopped off
The capacity of Zeee is accurate, but in my experience, the C rating is less than half of what is advertised. My Felony needs minimum 35c or else the ESC goes into LVC prematurely. My 4s 9000 mAh supposed 80c Zeee battery causes the Felony to go into LVC if I accelerate quickly, even with a brand new (30 day old) freshly charged pack So, while Zeee provides more accurate and truthful capacity than other brands, the C rating is a joke. It's not even half of what the claimed C rating is supposed to be. Next time I'm spending more on a better battery. Zeee is fine in a basher with an 80 amp ESC. Not fine in my Felony 150 amp ESC.
@@Boogie_the_cat I mean I’m talking about a 250a esc having no issues. Granted, road vehicles tend to pull higher loads than bashers but I don’t think the esc amperage is really a factor. My xo-1 shredded a set of rear tires with zeee packs without premature LVC. But that is a much lighter street car.
Battery makers no most people are not going to test batteries to see if they are what they claim it’s already been found by people testing the ratings are way off they always say it’s a higher mah then it really is. This is pretty much false advertisement but no one is going to stop them from this so it is getting worse until some agency steps in & files a lawsuit. It’s ridiculous just put the correct info on the batteries. It’s the cell count that matters you run a high speed on a lower cell count & of course it’s not going to go as fast as the same mah count with a higher cell count.
C rating I don't believe it .I recently broke world 🌎 record with electric rc plane, so I ask you, what manufacturers are best powerful battery is what I'm looking for and happy to mention you channel
There is a reason why RCExplained does not single out any battery manufacturer by name. For a start, doing so is merely pointing the finger; secondly, singling someone out is inflammatory (which goes against the informative vibe RCExplained has going on with their entire channel); and thirdly, singling someone out is downright unprofessional (which also goes against the vibe RCExplaimed has going on here). Personally, I would not watch RCExplained (let alone be subscribed to them - to which I currently am) if they were outright singling manufacturers out by name and "rallying the troops" (AKA encouraging their fambase) to form (for want of a better expression) lynch mobs and go after the manufacturers RCExplained has singled out. If you're expecting the OP to single out a manufacturer here, you have come to the wrong channel. RCExplained has not (and will not) single any manufacturer out by naming and shaming them. Oh, and naming and shaming does nothing other than to raak up echo chambers to the extent they become polarised. That's the other reason: To be informative without polarising people. It's entirely possible to call out unethical practices without naming and shaming manufacturers. Especially when you don't have all the information in front of you to reonforce those accusations.
The RC gods are pleased, you are doing the lord's work with exposing these scams!

I need high C rate for my boats. I don’t trust the C rate. I go for the wire size. 10gauge. At least.
Looks like getting a lower c value battery and connecting them together series or parallel would be the best performance probability.
Yep, as long as you have the space parallel is the way to go
