Originally there were never any kiai in Okinawan kata, when Karate was introduced to Mainland japan the Japanese insisted on putting kiai in the kata to be recognized by japan because the martial arts in japan always had kiai.
@@johncena12366 ....neither did Shotokan until they stole them after watching a Savate demonstration - the Japanese didn't really improve Karate, more like mess it up when they introduced this weird militaristic crap - Okinawan Karate is more lethal, particularly with Sanchin and conditioning stuff
Some people may say he lacks "kime" because the techniques look a bit jerky. That's Chinkuchi right there! He follows through every technique! Love seeing various interpretations of Naihanchi especially this one
This kata brings me back to my childhood! The version I was shown was a little different, and the name was pronounced differently, too. I was 8 or 9 at the time, so I probably just said it wrong.😂
Why? That kata was done very much like how Funakoshi Sensei did it when he got off the boat c. 1925 in Japan. Don't believe it? Get a reprint copy of "Karate Jutsu" and take a look.
Shotokan karate is for show, not self defense. Put a shotokan fighter against a street fighter and the street fighter will wipe the floor with the shotokan guy
@@josef-peterroemer6235 I can't do an up vote for that comment. Let me correct you by stating Shotokan went the SPORT route. Some ART got thrown in for good measure. I have been around and some of those Shotokan boys can take a lot of pain and dish it out. Some of the biggest hard heads you will encounter in the world of martial arts is the Karate group that uses the initials: JKA.

I didn't know that, but it is very interesting information. Thanks
Gracias. I always asked about the kiai when in the past there was a secrecy about the Art. That is, doing kiai will draw attention. Thanks again.
The Japanese fuvked up karate
@@AlienPsyTing1The Japanese improved Karate. Okinawan karate did not have any high kicks or free sparring.

I'm a beginner who learned this kata recently, and I love seeing different uses of Naihanchi Shodan. Great performance.
This kata is fascinating. This execution is a beauty to behold. Thanks for sharing.
Insane power and coordination...
The nahanchi form is uses for many self defence tecniques
Wow. Loved it. Gracias.

Great skills
As long as he remembers to exhale from his diaphragm, the kiai isn't necessary.
That was my favorite one and I did it in competition but lost because the judge didn't know Okinawan karaté
Anyone else looking through kata because you don't know the name of the one you just learned? This is my one!
