Maybe they presented that command in a rude manner or whatever, also it showed the fact that they didn't bother to find out anything about the band, before they came on the show. So, apparently the guys got insulted/pissed off by the way they were told, so...you know, they didn't appreciate that, so Matt went on and just let loose with the F-bombs. If those idiot running the show had bothered to research Muse, they would have known that Muse never swore in their songs. (which is why I kinda don't understand what happened with "Psycho" :P )

So it was like, the people hadn't even bothered to listen to their song ahead of time. So, they got annoyed and thus a little historical Muse moment was made. Also, they said they never play drunk cause it makes their playing rubbish.

To me even The Resistance era was still pretty amazing. It was the turning point, but still, I found that album pretty great for trying so many new things. From 2nd Law onwards, I barely remember a memorable Muse track (maybe only Supremacy, Animals, Reapers and The Handler for me).
The 2nd Law was very varied and experimental, with some great differing styles, truly a unique album. Drones was anything but poppy, but some people just don't think it sounds as good as their previous stuff, and that's fine, but I disagree with that.

Apparently up till the resistance era of live shows, Chris was more often drunk on stage than not, he would play many tours and gigs just super drunk. I guess Matt and Dom finally had enough by the time of the resistance tour, I don’t think the band is all that drunk here, but I don’t doubt that Chris is drunk.
@Caaynee He's playing the strings on the stretch between the neck and the tuners, very tight so hight ptich, not sure how the guitar picks up the sound on it though.
I'd heard they'd made a LIVE performance while drunk or "on the piss" as it was described... but this one DOES NOT seem to qualify. He's going "off script" a little, but can't really say he's drunk... not for sure anyway.

I'm pretty sure Matt is more than good enough to play while absolutely smashed... if he can play while running about, swinging his guitar around, 4 pints isn't going to change much! Hell, Hendrix played just fine on LSD, and his performance only suffered when people rather cruelly spiked his drinks before shows. If you're exceptionally good at something (or drink heavily and have a high tolerance) alcohol isn't going to change much unless you're downing stupid amounts!

I'm going to disagree on the drunk claim. Pretty much any music that Muse does is incredibly complicated and most musicians wouldn't be able to come close when they are sober, let alone intoxicated. I also find it hilarious that people keep accusing them of being drunk. Have any of you actually seen a Muse performance (live or even DVD)? That's just how they perform and that's why they are the best damn band ever.
