love how Ray opens the box with a handsaw....great stuff! And throws the manual on the ground before attempting to assemble. Love it! Was looking to invest in a power sander so will check this one out.
I see you’re going to be working in Boulder, which is about 270 miles from me. I live in Grand Junction Colorado, on the western slope. I might possibly be in the area in a few weeks picking up a new travel trailer and would look you up over there if you were still working there.
That would of been awesome but I'm back in Chicago now stayed in Golden Colorado for a week. Should have a new video this weekend using the sander. But if I get back out there I'll let you know and we can meet up.
Was the suction just not great because you had the intake closed? Seems like it might take up the dust better if that adjustment on the head of the sander is intake and not exhaust
You should connect it to a vacuum cleaner. Thats just how it should be connected. But please give your opinion on the reault. Because i wanted to buy a model like that. The most important thing for me is the tape on the joints- if its smooth and acceptable for a customer
@@THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1 i think i will buy it and use maybe 180 220 grit. I think 150 is too aggressive. But a festool one is so expensive especially if its just a remodel and not for a drywall contractor... Thank you for your help
@@ofrimashiah2 ya the festool sander is not worth it,my boss bought it for me,didn't like,it took way to much mud off,too quick, the dustless aspect sucked.not worth it for the price.im gona check out the Dewalt one
I have an Ironton sander and it's way better than the Porter Cable sander but the poor escape the Porter Cable sander last longer but that is way more easier to operate than a porter cable the head moves so much freer it's just easiest pie to sand with
I disagree, we have festool planex, but was won over by mirka, but both are very expensive, you can buy 10 of them for the price of festool and mirka.......
@@ThatKiltedGuyDIY Would you have replaced your power sander with this one? After trying the porter cable a number of times, I decided to pony up for the festool because, in my view, it's way better. That's a crazy amount of money to spend on a sander you'll only use occasionally. But it's lost none of its punch over the years. So this one looks fine if you don't make your living with it, but I cannot imagine it works as well as either the pc or the festool (mirka might actually be the best but I'd already bought mine when I found out about mirka)
@@michaelkistner6286 no I think my porter cable is still better than these. That’s mostly because I feel like the balance is better, and just the whole ergonomic feel of it. But I think these would work fine although my guess is you would get only about 70% of the life out of one that you get out of a porter cable or better. I don’t do this anymore as I’m a full-time RUclips channel, but I think I would also look into the Mirka or Festool if I was. Maybe one day I will test them.
@@THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1 your kidding? $130 for a German made tool... I think you should check again. Everything about it screamed Chinese owned and made knockoff. If I'm wrong I'll be thrilled.

My master drywall
Why wasn’t it sucking the dust? Thant adjustment thing on the head was open or something? Did you figure it out? Thx
Yes I was impatient it was sucking the dust it just needed a little more time
what is the item number of the carbon brushes that need to be replaced. I can't find the right size anywhere.
I've gone to ace hardware and just searched there inventory and have always had good luck 👍
I have called the local hardware store close to me and all of them have said they don't carry any carbon brushes. Thanks@@THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1
My question is, what weight is it? Holding that sander overhead doing ceilings may take your shoulders out after a while!! Maybe good if it's 5-6 lbs.
amzn.to/2RRv2iL
The weight is in the link
Might be a silly question but could you use this on decking?
Sure it's a power sander
Who needs a knife when you got a saw 😂

I really liked it but it's still a little aggressive for me if I had heavier sanding I would use it all the time
For the money it's great

Get it here there's also a promo code
Is it heavy like the other power sanders?
Not as heavy. It straps on your shoulder.

Try Festool,it is the best drywall sander

Hello, are you satisfied with the device? I also consider it to buy.
Yes for the price it's good
@@THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1 thank you 😊👍🏻
A contractor I was on a job with had one of these. They’re very primitive, in that they are heavy and not so nice to the walls
Looks like a home gamer version of a commercial tool. Great if you're doing a single or rare job. But I'm suspicious of it's utility for everyday use.
You could be right but it seems very well-built to me
I reviewed pretty much the exact sander on my channel and it does feel well made overall
