Hello good sir, if you have a crack that goes say from the middle of the wall up to the trim at the ceiling, do you need to remove the trim to fix the crack? If you do remove the trim and add some tape and mud there it will make it more difficult to put the trim back up, so i was wondering if this is even necessary? Thanks again
No it's not necessary to remove the trim.
Learned so much from you! Question: I am remodeling a room and the tape where the ceilings meet the walls was coming loose after 30 years so I was able to peal it away without leaving any tape behind. I sanded both sides with an orbital sander - but not super thoroughly - leaving some old compound behind, will there be a problem adhering the new tape? plan on using all purpose and straight flex 90.
There might be. If it was new not a problem but I think I would prime it first.
@@THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1 thank you for your response! What kind of primer? I would assume not latex
It doesn't matter, the main thing is it's sealed. Now, if you're trying to block staining, now you want oil based.
I didn’t get a good look at the shower but do u have to put a corner bead on the wall that will attached to the Durock . Basically does the drywall and Durock get a corner bead and if so which type of mud do u use? Hope that question makes sense
Today I use all purpose because they roll it out with a rubber sealant, but I use to use quick set.
@@THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1 thanks for getting back to me. I have to finish one side of the wall but Durock will be on the other side so I wasn’t sure how to go about that.
Good to see you back Doc and my condolences to your family.
Anybody know the name of the mesh tape he is using I am interested in trying it out Thank You #$!
Hey Doc, how's the bathroom reno going?
All done just have edited the video yet turned out great 👍
Looks like a lot of time consuming piddly work.
I thought I was the only one who used that word, piddly 😂
