This took me over a year to fully make, thank you all for watching from the bottom my heart, I love yall, please enjoy :)
Can’t believe dark souls II is still the best Souls game
Over a year?? Damn Great job and thank you for uploading it man!
The fact that you didn’t dare to rank soldier of godrick is a testament to his power
A year??? 🤣 Okay, dude, I know children that could put this together in a week, tops.
I'm messing with you, this is really impressive 👍 thanks for giving me something to listen to at work
Epic video man, I love these analysis style videos you have been making, please keep it up!
Deacons above the halfway point is wild 💀
He put deacons above Gwyn 💀💀💀
@gustavomattos1535 can't say I disagree too much. Gwen's music & lote build up is fantastic, but his fight is entirely a let down if you can parry at all. This isn't even a gimmick or a "secret trick" it's a mechanic used throughout the entire game that people will be accustomed to doing. It entirely destroys him & is meant to. Gwen is not in his prime, he isn't supposed to be a real threat by the time we fight him. He's a slightly more intact version of Kimg Vendrick really. Decans, while easy as pie, are thematically interesting & have actual mechanics to the fight to pay attention to with multiple ways of approaching
@@gustavomattos1535tbf it’s understandable. Gwyn is not a good fight at all
Deacons aren't that bad. They are actually quite fun
@@Zansekai Especially if you have butcher knife that replenishes hp with each whack. Becomes easiest boss in DS3.
Last Giant: "Uses giant stick as weapon"
My brother in christ he ripped his own arm off as a weapon.
He pronounces everything wrong as well
Dude sounds like a scrub crying about basic souls shit we have embraced for years.
Fire giant: rips off his leg for no apparent reason
What is it with Giants in Soulsborne and ripping off their own body parts to fight you with?
@@colehamrick6252 It's for the REACH
Sekiro has the best sword combat system i ever experienced in any game. I want sekiro prequel or part 2.
Love sekiro aswell but considering how it sold I don't think we will be getting another one
lies of p is the closest thing we have to a sequel
@@AndrewH9999…..Sekiro sold 10 million copies and won game of year. What the hell can kind of world do you live in that somehow thinks it’s hasn’t done well.
@@grandmacrinkle8094 playing lies of p atm, amazing game, the blocking/parrying is so satisfying
Sekiro is surprisingly close to real swordfighting. A lot more realistic combat can be found from Kingdom Come Deliverance.
I gain so much more appreciation for Genichiro, the more I replay Sekiro. Genichiro is definitely where the rhythm of the game clicked for me. Now, every time I boot the game up, I warm up with Genichiro until I flawless him. If you can flawless Genichiro, you can beat anything the game has to throw at you. Great list! Mad respect for working on this one over a year.
Genichiro is like a benchmark or basically a test. You need to apply all You have learned so far (Parry + mikiri). If You can beat him, You can beat the game.
Except for Demon of Hatred
@@Poekuli Demon of Hatred was like “Hope you remember Bloodborne, pal!”
I always thought Sword Saint ishin was supposed to be the hardest boss, i got him in sub 5 tries but ended up taking like 9 on that spear boss with the centipede
For me, it was Lady Butterfly that really made sekiro's combat click.
PSA, if you try to fight Amygdala under/around his legs you will have a terrible time. There's a reason they didn't add a lock-on point to its legs. Go face to face with the boss, i-frame his arms & hit his head. Actually a super fun fight.
Can't say the same for defiled Amygdala tho 😅
Agreed
defiled amygdala and ailing loran paarl are the worst bosses i’ve faced in bloodborne lmao
@cerberusG59 I'm with you, pearl is so weird. Sometimes he's pitiful & can barely stand up & then other times, no matter how hard you try, you can't even break one leg or stagger at all
Going under for p3 is fine, just gotta know the strat
I love the Amygdala fight. I've always had fun fighting except for the defiled version. That dungeon and boss can pull a Dead/Kurt Cobain
Godrick below old Dragonslayer and Vordt? Radahn below Flamelurker? Morgott below Shadows of Yharnam? What are these takes.
easy, not everyone hypes ER into oblivion, that's all.
@@IceMyser Tell me 5 things old Dragonslayer does better than Godrick. I'll wait.

39:16 Every time you encounter a boss for the first time in bloodborne, you gain one insight. So, for them to not spawn, you need to encounter the boss, leave, waste the insight you got, and then fight it again.
My only gripe with this video and a big soulsborne community pet peeve is:
In "Orphan of Kos" the boss is the Orphan part, not Kos. Kos is his parent, the dead Great One lying on the beach. Who is dead. And so he's an orphan now. Otherwise nice vid tho.
(I am fun at parties)
>Fights Amygdala wrong
>"Guys this fight is not good!"
Fr tho like you do very little damage on the legs and the tail on purpose. You are meant to attack the front where it’s a great boss.
Amygdala is such a satisfying boss if you hit it in the head, especially when you are using Ludwig’s holy blade and spamming L2
The Rotten above Godrick, that's very brave indeed
Shadows of yhanam over demon prince what
Awesome list, Genichiro was exactly when Sekiro clicked for me and when it went from a souls game I didn’t know if I’d ever understand to one I felt I could master better than any of the others. Great video!
Thank you for getting the twin princes the respect they deserve. The only souls boss I beat and instantly threw down my sign to help others beat. I’d boot it up now to help people through it 😢
Actually one of the best, if not the best fight i had in ds3. (Except for the ghost walk, that was horrible😅)
I am so excited to watch this entire video. Dedication like this is what makes RUclips great.
So validating to hear your take on Owl Father! I HATED that old bird and now it's my favorite boss fight in the game. Along with Genichiro and Sword Saint, it's a "mastery" boss. When you beat him, it's because you became better than him.
Hell yeah Chop! I look forward to watching this
I'm so insanly happy with this ranking vid. everything is in it's right place imo and as a lover of sekiro seeing the top 2 both being sekiro made me the happiest. thank you so much for this vid and i hope you keep up with these amazing vids man. truly. thank you
You think prowling magus should be where it is, you’re tripping this list is really ass in the back half
@@Deezenjoyer There are a few questionable takes, but I think Magus is over hated. The lore behind them in combination of if you try to fight Freja as your first of the four souls, the fight can actually be interesting. Plus the inclusion of the benches is a great crowd control option that perfectly fits with the context of the boss
Nice list! Can tell you put the time and effort into making this video. Much appreciated as a souls fan
I been waiting for this video from you for AGES thank God. Using this while i do hw
In case you didn’t know, Rennala’s summons aren’t completely random. She has 4 she picks from, the dragon, giant, wolves, and an evergaol dude whose name eludes me (he gives the bloodhound’s fang weapon). Great list overall, though, I’m just past her and it’s very clearly really well thought out
Bloodhound Knight Darrawil
Bruh finally someone that mentioms this.
Not really that well thought out actually lol,the difficulty of the fight depends heavily on what she summons. My first time ever fighting she summoned wolves and I just ignored them and stunlocked her with a colossal sword and it was GGs.When I went back on NG+ she summoned the dragon and I was immediately killed. Then when I went back after I died she summoned wolves again and yet again I just stunlocked her and won easily.I wish her spelled was more well thought out,all her spells are pretty easy to dodge.Imo one of the worst fights in the game
@@BratSmimson-re9uw I meant the list lmao
Finally someone that also has true Owl Father over Isshin :D
I also just love this fight. Sekiro to me never felt more even, a 1 vs. 1, shinobi vs shinobi fight than in this one.
With Isshin I always run in circles like crazy to abuse his moves and while I love the fight, Owl Father just feels more grounded to me.
My overall number 1 is Friede though, like her more than Gael.
I have to give my favorite boss to Friede as well. No boss kicked my ass, surprised me with a third phase, and gave me the sense of satisfaction like beating her

this is the content i was looking for. Thank You
Hey Chop, long time viewer (since zombies) and I just wanted to say, great job on this video man, it’s no easy task. But I gotta say. I know everything is said and done, but those “anomaly bosses” really should’ve been in the list. Part of the entire charm of fromsoft bosses is the gimmicks and unique aspects of the fights. If you ask me, Maiden Astraea is my favorite demon souls boss exclusively because it’s so damn unique and charming. It feels like not including those is missing a big part of what makes fromsoft great. Even if you don’t like them, they’re still apart of those games. But anyways, great job man.
YOU CAN PARRY THE DAMN BLAZING BULL THATS WHAT IT TEACHES that even when he’s spamming and rushing you down you can hold your ground with parrys and just destroy him
For real. 4 yrs later & ppl still throw fc's or run around in circles & hit from behind when fight is clearly meant to teach more deflect timing. Wait for charge, parry horn thrust, repeat 3 times & fight over in 30 sec. Same for Sakura bull.
Players will always do the path of least resistance, even when there are obvious weaknesses or weak points like Fire Giants (Arms and Legs), Midir(it’s head), Amydala( it’s head). If it’s slightly easier to just go under, hack at it and having to deal with the self imposed camera issue to avoid the threat of damage. They will. They’re is some guiding From has to give to the player but the player has to me to dev halfway unless you want stuff glow yellow for weakness or character screaming the answer to you.
I’ve beaten mortal journey and even beaten Sekiro charmless + demon bell, and I still hate chained ogre and blazing bull. Imo, they barely reflect Sekiros combat system. Blazing bull is more excusable, but Chained Ogre have made so many people ditch an otherwise masterpiece in game design. This is just my opinion though.
@@zigsynx5364 literally, those bosses would've been much better after gyobu to show that dodging is only sometimes necesarry since it really pushed people away from the game
If you parry he does fire damage. That’s what makes the fight annoying.
Genuinely brilliant video
Mostly commenting for the algorithm, as you said everything and more
Incredible work, much respect
Incredible work, congrats!!!
Excellent work! Thank you so much for your knowledge and dedication.
Very detailed and accurate. Thank you for putting the time in on this
Awesome video! I consider Inner Father to be superior to Owl Father though, cus Inner Father is an insane fight. For both Owl and Owl father, one can cheese. For Inner Father, it's just ideal to stick with the basics: parry, attack, dodge, mikiri, jump, and wear him down in an incredibly tight and intense fight!
Most people concider them the same. Like if you say owl father, typically you're including inner father. Obviously not the same fight concidering in er father has added move set and raven combos ect. But I'm pretty sure he is including inner father when he says owl father.
Outstanding. Great video
Yo freaking great video btw! Played most of them but waiting on probably getting a ps5 to play Sekiro , demon's souls and ds2
Get Armored Core 6 too, it's fukin MechaSouls and it's badASS
You are meant to fight the fire Giant phase 2 at the front of him and attack the bosses hands not to run to his back and attack his legs
He fights multiple bosses “wrong” but still manages. Just more credit to the game’s true accessibility.
There isn’t a correct way to fight ANY boss! It’s all preference and down to the player.
@@Kronorium There is an intented way
I don t think many people like to fight yhorm feets for 15mins, or shoot 150 arrows to his head ...@@Kronorium

@tristinbell Right???. I actually made a comment of my own about that considering he did mention fighting Amygdala from the feet. So that says a lot
@@xexulI mean I'm not gonna cook someone for their opinion because really it comes down to experiences and how people do things. He decided to fight Amygdala from the feet, which means it took him ages to win and the fight would feel boring
It's like fighting Ancient Wyvern or Yhorm with a straight sword, would suck. He should fight it the right way now and then update this
@@thunderbirdshaneTo be fair, Amygdala is just a shit fight either way
Great work on this video very informative and entertaining
Great video man love this
was looking for a video to listen to while cleaning the kitchen at my job, perfect timing
For the Rykard phase one move, you can use vow of the indomitable to dodge it and if you fancy shields Great shields will prevent any knock back with the fingerprint shield giving a 100% fire damage negation to pretty much make it a 99% block.
It's possible to outrun it too. But you gotta be ready to sprint as soon as it starts.
Raptor mist (or smth like that) can work too iirc
Love your vids man keep up the work!!
Great video man! Thanks for your work!
Amazing amazing video hope it hits millions of veiws
Really shows everyone has their own opinion on these games. Interesting to see it. The love for owl father is real.
Holy moly you gotta be kiddin with that deacons placement tho 😂😂😂
As far as the witches work, yes you need to have 0 insight when you activate the boss to get rid of the Shadow monsters. You had insight in the footage when you were playing against them. It should be noted that they give you insight the first time you fight them, so quitting out and spending it will solve that issue.
I just relived my whole childhood in one video… thank you Chop!❤️
I think Vicar Amelia from BloodBorne should be in High/ Top Tier. From her character design, to her howling and screaming while holding her pendent, to the music was very well done! & I honestly felt bad for her, lore wise. but I loved that fight.
But it's very easy. That detracts from the fight quite a bit imo.
Ivory king has always been my favorite, from the gorgeous area to the amazing mechanic of building up your army and his amazing entrance

I appreciate your hard work it 's perfect
For the witches of Hemwick you need to enter the fight and teleport out or die. Before entering again you have to spend all your insight at the shop to fight the witches without the mobs. Its because even if you enter the boss room without any insight, you will get some for discovering it for the first time.
I have a very simple solution that would make the Malenia fight a fair and challenging fight. Just make waterfowl dance extremely scripted when she uses it. What I would do is have her use it a total of 3 times in the fight. When her health is depleted to 75% and 25% in the first phase, and 50% in her second phase. If players know it's coming they can prepare for it; and because it's a huge combo move it's still a challenge.
Because unless you're a god tier gamer, waterfowl dance at close range is almost always guaranteed death. My solution nullifies that issue. So the only way to get caught off guard with it is if you aren't paying attention. I don't think it's likely to happen that it's been a year and a half since release but I would be thrilled if From software patched this fight in this way.
Edit: I thought of one other adjustment that would make it even more fair. This one is in regard to life steal and it's also pretty simple. If you're blocking when she hits you, the life she gets is 20%. That way it isn't absurd that she heals just as much even when she deals no damage to you, but also encourages you to play more aggressively. I think if these changes were made, Malenia would be a well balanced challenge and actually fun.
I find malenia a fair enough and challenging fight as is. I really enjoyed beating her the first time and learning her move set. It really is fun to successfully dodge and punish her and is very satisfying
Check out "Stop complaining about Waterfowl Dance" by LupineOs. The title is true in that once you've watched the video, you are rendered unable to complain about the move because you've been shown a consistent and reasonably learnable way of dodging the move from close range. Also in phase 1 you can use throwing daggers to bait out the move from afar, though I've heard that strategy doesn't apply to phase 2. The main issue I have with it is that if you want to dodge it (without using a shield for the first flurry, or resorting to Bloodhound's Step), it's very hard for you to figure out a reliable method of dodging and nothing else in the game really prepares you for it. However once you do know how to dodge it, it just becomes a neat super move that keeps the experience from getting stale.
@@minerman60101 Everything is possible for the most dedicated players. That has always been the case for every game ever and it's not an excuse for bad game design. There are people who can do Elden Beast hitless 10 times in a row but that doesn't change the fact that Elden Stars is a terrible attack that should have never made it into the game. Don't confuse playing around the jank for the jank not being there. Elden Ring fans deluding themselves into thinking Waterfowl Dance is a good move only happened because everyone got so good at the game that they don't find it hard anymore, meaning even if the attack is unbalanced they don't care cause it's easy now.
@minerman60101 git gud is still a terrible rebuttal, you gotta think about the average player, not someone who's a god at the game. It's a garbage move that completely ruins the fight. It makes her fight difficult for the sake of difficulty , instead of being made to be a fun fight. And most of the community agrees with me. You have to at least agree it's very hard to learn and in my opinion it's the hardest move to learn in any of these games. And she spams it. For the average player this is not any fun, like at all.
@@pennygirl015in the other games, an average gamer can become quite adept. But Elden Ring is an exception. There's so many moves that are blatantly unfair (waterfowl dance) that extreme luck or skill is required to have a chance of winning.
Hard bosses can be a fun challenge if the difficulty is fair. Dark Eater Midir is my favorite fight in the series for this reason.
I fucking love your twin prince pick but I have to note that I don’t think it is a “duo fight”
I think it’s more of a knight style boss fight with 2 phases, one of which is a “weak-point” fight phase
some other choices I find questionable but overall I really agree with your list
Impressed with all the effort you put into this! You make very good points. I find myself agreeing with much of what you've said. I've only played DS1 and DS2, none of the others. (Though I look forward to someday fighting Dancer and Pontiff in DS3!) But I didn't disagree with many of your points.
About the only one where my own personal rankings would be vastly different would be the Four Kings. I find I look forward to them in every playthrough of DS1. I'm usually sad when I beat them, because it means my favorite endgame area is over. I'll often save them for towards the end, even if the game encourages me to deal with them earlier, simply because I try to adopt a 'save the best for last' mentality. It could be the reason I like them so much is because I'm a below-average player in terms of skill--to me, it's a very intense, "Hurry up before you get overwhelmed" fight, where I do find I need to dodge. The intensity doesn't let up. And the atmosphere is A++ to me.
I'd argue the Asylum Demon should have been split apart from the Stray Demon and Demon Firesage. Asylum Demon is meant as a tutorial boss; it has a very different job from the other two. It does it well, craftsmanlike. It's not a beautiful painting, it's the walls and flooring on which other things are built.
My own personal boss favorites, roughly defined as "Aw man, I'm sad they're dead because I can't fight them again" (Not counting Bonfire Ascetics):
The Lost Sinner
The Four Kings
Smough & Ornstein
Gaping Dragon
Bed of Ch--kidding, just making sure people are paying attention!!
Burnt Ivory King
Thanks for putting together such a great list!
My favorite feeling is deflecting a strong attack in Sekiro and having that cool camera angle where you're recovering
it hurts me when people complain about bloodborne while playing it exactly like dark souls (locked off, sprinting and never using the quickstep)
Amazing video, I can tell you put time in it.
But I can’t believe Amygdala is so low on the list. Especially below celestial emissary and mico. Also living failures can’t be in bad tier purely because of its soundtrack, so awesome. And some of them were weird like Godrick under Vordt that a lot of the comments mention
Great video wow ! Good job thanks so much
CHOPPER! Great video but definitely should've talked about how inner father is like even more badass than father owl lol. That fight, phew had me sweating 😂
If I had a nickel for every boss ranking I've seen that didn't properly critiscize Four Kings for being a DPS check, I would have too many nickels. Thank you for telling the truth about that bad boss.
Ehh.. maybe it’s personal preference but I’m a huge four kings fan. Just because it’s a DPS check doesn’t make it bad I feel like the environment and boss design make up for the mediocre mechanics.
@@hardchuck1911 While I agree the aesthetic of FKs is good, I despise DPS checks in these sort of games. They are effectively a challenge you can't overcome via skill if your build isn't good enough. It's really messed up for challenge runs and higher NG+ cycles, and even on casual runs DPS checks encourage unengaging strategies like tanking everything with Havel armor while R1 spamming as fast as possible.
yeah i’m so glad i’m not the only one who doesn’t love these guys. they have possibly my favorite design of any ds1 boss, but their movesets are sooooooo boring and the only way to play the fight is as a dps check
Its not even four kings, its literally 5 kings. What a shitty mechanic
Honestly, despite playing ds1 for the first time, I been watching people play the game and talk about the lore, and the lore with these guys are meh, they were there and had some relevance, but thats it, boring lore about them tbh.
👍👍👍 For the list. Been beaten by owl father more than sword saint Isshin. How much more his inner version
Awesome list, as a big souls fan and an even bigger Sekiro fan I was so happy to see my boys Ishin and Own Father at the top of the list. Also agree with the placement of Ludwig as the best Bloodborne boss.
Good job on this fr if you ever wanted to do a remake you should include lies of p bosses and fights are so good fr
I personally believe that owl father is inferior to isshin BUT inner father from the shura gauntlet is the best boss in any video game ever.
Great list! One note tho - Prowling Magus above Four Kings :D really? I mean Four Kings is not great I do agree but IMO its much much much better than Prowling Magus /which is only a boss cause there is a fog wall and a health bar/ xD.

Hesitation is truly defeat. I hate "Headless boss" in Sekiro
True fear is stumbling upon one without knowing about or having confetti in your inventory lmao

I am hoping Bed of Chaos and Micolash are at the absolute bottom.
Spoiler alert:
Micolash is way too high.
Micolash deserved worse than what the hunter can do and to be put lower

I agree with the top choices. The inner versions in particular. Well done
I watched the whole video and gave a thumbs up - I know this wasn’t easy to make - but I do have to say that it’s seems like you are all over the place with your boss logic. Some of the bosses that are exactly like previous ones you talked about are higher on the list when (by your logic) should’ve been lower. I’m sure it was a challenge to keep it all organized but I found myself saying “that doesn’t make sense” often.

@marcJoel I just sucked lol. I destroyed her the 2nd and 3rd time I played the game though. Glad to know it wasn't just me though haha
@@marcJoelI went early and beat her first try

Amygdala worse than Rom, Micolash, Pinwheel, most DS2 bosses???
i didn't watch the whole thing, but i left a like bro. you deserve it
Great list! And yeah, Dark Souls 3 is soooo underrated.
So Amygdala isn't polished and well executed, because you fought it wrong, instead of learning the moveset?
While the first fight with Amygdala isn't too bad, did you ever fight Cursed Amygdala in the labyrinth? See how "learning the moveset" works when the slightest mistake leads to death by random flailing.
@@eddiemangum2326he said no chalice bosses
@@eddiemangum2326 I have videos of doing FRC Depth 5 dungeons on this very channel... but anyway, yes learning the moveset would still work, as long as you don't overextend your punishment window.
It does have some pretty egregious hitboxes
@@eddiemangum2326Cursed Amy isn’t too bad once you learn the moves and have a bit of patience. Obviously main game Amy is more forgiving though.
Prowling magus can still hold his head up high knowing he's better than bed of chaos
I was thinking during this video about my own favorite picks and up there was ishin, genichiro, and owl father. (I’ve only played sekiro and Elden ring) I’m glad to see that they are ranked so highly especially owl father, I was stuck on him for like 30 tries during my second playthrough (I did shura ending first time) and I new that I loved the boss when I decided to fight his inner version on my 3rd playthrough and beat him first try
In defense of the Blazing Bull, the lesson isn’t just “use firecrackers”, it teaches you how to bait enemies with good positioning. You’re supposed to treat it like a matador fight and run to the opposite ends of the arena to bait the thing into charging you. I think coming at it with that mentality helps make it more fun and a better teaching moment for some other bosses.
I gotta defend ancient wyvern. The gimmick was the intent. The discovery that it was possible with no spoilers was a fantastic surprise
Agreed I don’t understand the hate
