Can I just say how ridiculous it is that a script is needed to copy and paste something more easily (3DS max, looking at you!) Its one of the most basic computer needs for any software. Thanks for the video!
so do you have to have two copies of Max running? Can you copy an object, close the file, open a new file, and then paste? On edit - since it saves to a file, you can wait days if you like before copying it back to a new scene, since it uses the merge command in code.

Yes 2 copies. But as you say, you are really just saving and loading the file. So yes you can wait days.
