When evaluating Lewis Hamilton's performance over the past year, several factors must be considered: Career Stage: Hamilton and George Russell are at vastly different points in their careers. Russell, as a younger driver, has much to prove, while Hamilton, with his extensive experience and achievements, is in a different position. Experience and Skill: Given Hamilton's record-breaking pole positions and vast experience, it's unlikely he would consistently lose out to Russell in truly equal machinery. That could be why we've seen a lot of second runs in q3 not be better than the first runs in q3. I can think of numerous of times it happened this year. The first run was them holding back a little to make sure they get a lap in and then when they go all out for the second run they overheat the tires and end up slower.
They were mapping his times to see how he adjusts to the tweaks on his car. Lewis was a “Test Racer” for the Mercedes 2025 car. The information they gathered from him no other driver could give them that data. 🤔
Lewis is no dummy. He is the smartest driver tactician on the grid. Do tou really think he would not have worked it out by now? It's pure and simple sabotage as Q3 LV 2024 highlighted. Two 'mistakes' by LH in one session is unheard of given the masterclass he gave in the actual race. If Mercedes provide a competent car then Lewis will win. His experience and race craft ie superior to the rest of the grid.
Qualifying should be flat out as you say. There is too much tire management overall if you ask me, which they didn't. A few years ago I did a few go fast courses both for motorcycles and for cars. There was always an emphasis on the fact that sometimes you have to go slow to go fast. Knowing when where and how much is what separates the greats from the also rans. Lewis is obviously a great, driving style or no he should be able to adapt, if he wanted to.
People are forgetting that the Lewis they remember is the Lewis that had the best car by far in most seasons and a very obvious place as a number 1. Mercedes as a team was never at the level of a team like RB at any point, because to be fair, they didn’t need to be, the car was normally dominant enough to cover most deficiencies. This is why RB and Max have been able to break records that are likely to go unbroken for the next 30 years.
2017 &; 2018 Lewis didn't have THE BEST CAR Vettel and FERRARI DID ! 2014 2015 2016 2019 2020 YES 1ST Half of 2021 RB & 2nd Half of 2021 Mercedes . And then RB 2022 2023 2024 ( the 1st 7 races )
When considering Lewis you must acknowledge he has been in the fastest car for many more seasons than any other driver in history and this is absolutely certain. So all numbers must be considered with this in mind.
They just need to get rid of the prescribed tyre on how F1 wants them made. Make them so drivers can fully push on for multiple laps and no thermal deg. Suppose that leave Pirelli out lol as they haven’t sorted that out since they came in still scratching their heads with that one. Drivers want better tyres why haven’t they incudes that for 26? We at least deserve that see drivers push full out again instead of nursing tyres from the get go
I Still say that Lewis's commitment or non commitment to not practice in the Simulator could probably be the reason that he struggles with the car most of the times..George does get in the SIM to help himself with those nuances of the car however on the other hand Lewis doesn't like the SIM because he said it made him develop bad habits so to him getting in the SIM is pointless. .. not to mention what does he really have to prove ?
Lewis Hamilton might be a slower qualifier than George Russell, but LH is more experienced and possesses greater race craft than GR (although Russell is no slouch). What Alonso said makes sense; these tires are very temperamental and fickle, and predicting how they will perform is difficult. Remember that Red Bull's Max Verstappen has also experienced problems with his car handling. Monaco '24, in particular. Verstappen won at Monaco last year.
Something tell's me he's going to be more comfortable in the Ferrari if so watch out because Lewis with a point to prove is a force to be reckoned with. Next season could be magic, if Redbull don't ace their car we could see a 4 team battle doubt anyones going to dominate. but the inter team battles are going to be just as interesting. George and Kimi especially, same with Oscar and Lando there's no clear no1's in any top team's except Redbull its gonna get interesting.
Really wish the FIA would release the 2025 technical regulations. Got the sporting regulations but really late on the official technical regulations for 2025, or am I completely blind and can't find them.
Formula 1 is an incredibly technical and data-driven sport. Every aspect of the car's performance, including tire wear, is closely monitored and analysed in real-time. If excessive tire wear in the early sectors was causing issues in the final sector, the driver's team would have communicated this information to him. F1 teams have extensive telemetry systems and a team of engineers constantly analysing data during the race. So, why has this been communicated to him? Your point about driving style due to the ground effect cars doesn’t hold any weight. Max’s driving style has changed pre new reg. Max drives pretty much the way he did back in 2021. He has refined his decision making while driving (risk/reward), however his baking, steering impute hasn’t changed. So your comments about driving style holds absolutely no weight..
Sponsorship. Since Lewis's announced he is moving to Ferrari, Sponsorship has Exodused Mercedes starting with Monstor Energy. In order to appeal to sponsors, Mercedes needs to demonstrate that their current driver is as good as Hamilton. Is Hamilton in on it? I wouldn't be surprised. His mistake in Austin looked deliberate.
Mistakes can happen especially if the car is sensitive. In general, he doesn't care about this season or whether he finishes in front or behind George. The car was never going to win the championship from the outset. Especially if one little mistake makes a win impossible.
And if you don't think Lewis of all drivers can't adapt his driving style. You've completely lost your mind. It is the car setup not the driver in Lewis's case stop with the nonsense
The elephant in the room is, Lewis got hurt by loosing the meant 8th championship. Lewis definitely is of character to want, to really want, that record. Although there are champions that are admired rightfully for their aim to get a record, with Lewis there is a bit of sad temperament to that. And Lewis obviously is a quality driver, then again he did run a supreme car those days and dont forget lost to Nico Rosberg in that dominant drive. Obviously Lewis is a force, but id say his ego got hurt quite severely 2021, and then to have lost his to be 8th to a guy he criticized so heavily before, and see that dude become the greatest, id say simply crushed Lewis. Now at Merc he is just touring out the season, at Ferrari he will likely show some class again, at the detriment of Charles. But both Lewis and Charles will likely also in 2025 have to acknowledge Verstappen is ruling and the reign doesnt seem to be over. Unless Red Bull manages to put out a really terrible car, Fia efforts and achieves to frustrate him and the world gets into a year long drought.
It’s down to the car. He can’t feel the car under him the way he likes and drive it how he does naturally he’s always fighting or trying to adapt to it with it being so unpredictable and over driving at times and it bites back. If he has a car he can feel and is predictable in how he naturally drives he will be right up there
It this is true then it indicates a lack of understanding and adaptability on Hamiltons side. Makes more sense than the preposterous claim Hamilton initiated regarding sabotage.
Save all observations for next season. Lewis is too good to be making such mistakes... The principal said so himself..hahaha. If this is a reoccurring issue, it's 100% the car. I bet lewis car is fundamental different to George. Everyone raised eyebrows when George refused that new front wing when Sir Lewis offered it.....
Everything is fixed, forget it…he says what he been told to say,you can see in his eyes….yes, suddenly Lewis not fast, bad driver, old, not good anymore…😁😁😁 Absolutely RUBBISH…Wait the next year,be much better…
Nope. You can’t. I may be biased because i’ve never seen him as an equal to micheal. Micheal’s ability goes beyond driving a car. People forget how important micheal was in developing the all conquering mercedes that made lewis a 7 time world champion. I have nothing against lewis. He’s one of the best ever to do it. I just don’t think he’s quite at micheal’s level. As for max, he’s a beast. A racing machine with unbelievable consistency never seen before. Prime max is as good if not better than anyone i’ve ever seen
@@7ookeeon that logic so can Hamilton. He has won at least one race every season he’s been in apart from last year! Just this car is so unpredictable since the rule change and he hasn’t got the feel of the car and can’t drive it his natural way he drives this one bites unexpectedly so gives no confidence and he also overdrives it at times which then causes mistakes. If he had a predictable car under him Lewis will be up there.
... Hamilton.... I'm afraid he should hang up his driving gloves now. Ferrari won't be his answer to another championship, or any team for that matter.
I'm 48. I've been watching formula 1 since 1980 and what I can tell you is that formula 1 teams tend to favor drivers at times. So you never really know what a driver really has unless he is favored most of the time. And in the case of Russell and Lewis, oh all of a sudden he can't beat Russell this year. I wonder why that is. The simple fact is Russell is being favored with a better prepared car. Simple as that and as old as you are. You should know this by now. But no you want to play tit for tat to keep people watching your channel. Ridiculous. Stop the nonsense and spit the facts. You know why George has been better than Lewis this year just as I do. It's all about the setup of the car Period Point blank.
…or, Lewis is washed up. Stop making excuses. Retirement next year, after he tears the Ferrari team apart, like he’s done with the team that gave him his titles. Good riddance.
Have we ever seen a Monaco sector 3 madness from Hamilton, Brazil 2016, Brazil 2024? Nothing comes to mind like it does for the likes of max. Lewis is a good… a goat? I don’t think so. An engine merchant? More likely. Let’s see in Ferrari with more equal cars and hopefully a decent one for him he can change my mind.
@@Cameron-Cc clean qualifying lap, the most bhp…come on cam a 7 time world champion and that’s the only one everyone springs to mind with. Where’s the legendary race craft, unexpected overtakes, jaw dropping races that instantly spring to mind. His Mercedes domination was primarily on the straights.. as expected with that engine. His karting races have been more memorable. A controversial opinion but more you think about it, the more you wonder
Even though Max is "The Sim" driver, Lewis and his race engineer can and do read telemetry. And in the telemetry, there are channels for tire temps through the lap (and many other things). And if this was a pattern that he was doing the last year, he would have recognized it. So he's either not intelligent enough, his race (or any other performance) engineer are blind, or this is not a thing, and we are again chasing ghosts. Don't you all love it, when you can point to ONE thing, and it's that ONE thing that explains everything? We need more complex conspiracy theories, that do not fall apart by just thinking about it for a minute. PLEASE!
He's been on slow decline since 2007. 2008 should've easily beat Massa, but instead lost to Alonso/Renault in the last 5 races, also got beaten by Kovalainen a few times lol. 2009 was awful but still won the 2 go kart tracks, however got beaten by Kovalianen 4 times. 2010 should've beaten Alonso in the quirky Ferrari. 2011 Should've beaten Button. 2012 should've beaten Alonso. 2013 should've got more wins than Nico. 2014 was one of his most consistent seasons, but Nico took too much away from him which continued for 2015 and 16. 2017 and 18 were very good but not dominant. 2019 got owned by Leclerc at Monza and Spa, surprisingly beaten by Verstappen 4 times in that snail of a RBR. 2020 had DAS but Verstappen now taking huge bites out of him, including lapping Lewis twice in the same race, Lewis lucked the win when Ocon helped out. 2021 saw him make 3 x rookie errors. 2022 Now the power units are equal he's nowhere. 2023 very lucky with a lot of safety cars giving him a boost and Ferrari with dreadful strategy. 2024 there's hardly any safety cars and Ferrari have improved strategies, Lewis making less mistakes tis year, but very lucky with his 2 wins. 2025 ? Well he's complained about perfect strategies from his team, (Spa and Vegas) so how will he cope if Ferrari's strategies are sub-par ?
@@Jojo-iz9bi Who's talking about talent ? But Lewis is without doubt the best driver at late braking then hoping for the best. Most of his wins have come from the front in a car with 55HP more than anyone else. The same car that gave the great Nico Rosberg THIRTY Poles, beating Fangio, Haikkenen, Piquet, Stewart, Andretti....
I don't think much has happened to Lewis Hamilton. He's had a great Mercedes. It's not that Lewis isn't a good driver, but a lot of his stats are propped up greatly by the cars he had. Here is the real secret. Max Verstappen. He can switch off to F1. Max doesn't care about a lot of things that he shouldn't care about. The Dutch mentality. But to perform at Max level, you have to go to the max every time. If someone wants to be in the zone the whole time, they burn out. If they cannot go in and out the zone on a whim, there's always the fear of not getting back into it. Lewis has always had issues in the focus department. Like missing the pit entry and throwing his first possible championship. Max would not have done that. When Lewis in his rocketship Mercedes was beaten by Verstappen in a slower Red Bull, he broke. Then after that, he had a worse Mercedes. And he slacked off. Lewis Hamilton is indeed a barbarian. Like Alonso said, the guy can only drive when he's number one. Hamilton tries too hard to beat his teammate. Sure. We already knew. Plenty of bad practice times had been remedied this and previous seasons by Hamilton reverting to a Russell set-up. Technically Hamilton has never impressed me. I think he's tried too hard these past three years to make-up for the car through bad set-up calls. Especially with a faster teammate besides him with either more technical know-how or more trust in his engineers ... and also if Russell has DAS then Hamelton has DAS. I can imagine some screw-ups occurring because of improper DAS-usage. With Mercedes' disqualifications post-race the last few years we know where their moral compass on cheating points to. Gonna be a fun year next at Ferrari. Imagine Hamilton pushing through bad calls and the team having to pull Leclerc back in to not make him look too good compared to Ferrari's new #1. I wonder how often Ferrari pits will ask about plan A, B, C to Zeta Omicron before Lewis complains (rightly so) about being dyslectic. I think it's time to get rid of DRS and the fake-strategy of forced pitstops. Just let Pirelli (and preferably other manufacturers too) make the best possible tires. And if we must have compulsory pitstops, then make sure that no pitstops during (virtual) safe cars and red flags count.

Knowing when where and how much is what separates the greats from the also rans. Lewis is obviously a great, driving style or no he should be able to adapt, if he wanted to.
As I stated before, Lewis's weakness maybe adaptation. He's not done.
What about the holy "development in F1"...bring on another tyre supplier
Maybe Toto has something...
A top drive will adjust...hence the drivers that aren't failing are able to adjust to the changing conditions.
In the quiet words of one Torger Christian Wolff, "Everyone has a shelf life."
something looking strange to me
Spoken like a true Trial Attorney, Cameron. You missed your calling mate.
I read somewhere that the FIA were going to make those public as of Jan. First 2025.

This tire saving stuff is ridiculous
What is the famous umbrella pen finally dead? You shout do a competition and send that famous umbrella pen to the winner! It's an asset.
Please! Get rid of these tires!
And I'm not buying your synopsis. Once again, I am a technician. There are too many changes that can be made to adapt the car. Stop it
Are we really gonna sit here and tell LH how to drive a racing car?
And if you don't think Lewis of all drivers can't adapt his driving style. You've completely lost your mind. It is the car setup not the driver in Lewis's case stop with the nonsense
Are the British journos going to make excuses as to why Russell struggles to Hamilton in races?
If he has a car he can feel and is predictable in how he naturally drives he will be right up there
i wonder what this guy is going to do with himself after the last race, too much content bro!
Bring it back to proper F1. REAL RACING. Circa naughties formula 1
He should have rested this year cos he probably started the season knowing what he wanted to do.
It this is true then it indicates a lack of understanding and adaptability on Hamiltons side. Makes more sense than the preposterous claim Hamilton initiated regarding sabotage.
We will see next year if Lewis has lost his quali pace on a equal team equal cars with charles
A lot like Danny Ric, these cars/tyres don't like hard late braking they just can't cope
Yep they’re too damn heavy. Late heavy braking is what Hamilton is known for
Thank you!
Maybe Russell is just faster now , each year in Formula 1 got him better.
Lol look deeper its about data one thing you should remember is Lewis Hamilton don't like making others better off his data and rightly so ☝️
Everything is fixed, forget it…he says what he been told to say,you can see in his eyes….yes, suddenly Lewis not fast, bad driver, old, not good anymore…😁😁😁 Absolutely RUBBISH…Wait the next year,be much better…
Could be right but why did he nog adapt..the best can work that out and correct the way they drive...why did he not changed his Driving...
Plot twist…Lewis is the one sabotaging Mercedes by under performing.
You are Lewis fan just admit
If Hamilton can’t adapt to different cars, can we call him GOAT or place him at the top with MS and Max?
Nope.
The answer to this question will be next season. There will be no excuses or second guessing. It's either a slh problem or a Merc problem or both.
Not even sure why Max is in the GOAT convo?
@@rad0230 max is in the convo because he can drive any car to the maximum and win. SLH needs to prove he can do the same.
Hmmmmmmmm
Sounds like a racing song
…or, Lewis is washed up. Stop making excuses. Retirement next year, after he tears the Ferrari team apart, like he’s done with the team that gave him his titles. Good riddance.
Only a fool like you would write such stupid comments.
Oh la-la can't wait for two0two5😂 we will see.
Not this negativity again😢
Well if you actually watch the video,......🤯

Congratulations! You added two new words to your vocabulary, how long till you wear those out? 😂🎉😮😅
Already worn out
Have we ever seen a Monaco sector 3 madness from Hamilton, Brazil 2016, Brazil 2024? Nothing comes to mind like it does for the likes of max. Lewis is a good… a goat? I don’t think so. An engine merchant? More likely. Let’s see in Ferrari with more equal cars and hopefully a decent one for him he can change my mind.
*sigh*
Short memories mate...Lewis has banged in some amazing laps in his career
Singapore 18. Maybe?
@@Cameron-Cc clean qualifying lap, the most bhp…come on cam a 7 time world champion and that’s the only one everyone springs to mind with. Where’s the legendary race craft, unexpected overtakes, jaw dropping races that instantly spring to mind. His Mercedes domination was primarily on the straights.. as expected with that engine. His karting races have been more memorable. A controversial opinion but more you think about it, the more you wonder
Silverstone 2008 something max could never@@Cameron-Cc
PLEASE!
Honestly he looked good in Vegas because George wasn’t pushing and Lewis was while they had the fastest car by a significant margin.
Sirfucalot Hamilton
How did the other talented drivers let a driver with no talent win so many championships and win so many races? I guess we will never know.
@@Jojo-iz9bi
Who's talking about talent ? But Lewis is without doubt the best driver at late braking then hoping for the best.
Most of his wins have come from the front in a car with 55HP more than anyone else. The same car that gave the great Nico Rosberg THIRTY Poles, beating Fangio, Haikkenen, Piquet, Stewart, Andretti....
Yawn!
Your not a chess player, and you'll continue to wreck your brain
That's what u fink? We should play. Let me show u. Queen sacrifice declined
Whats your opinion on how LH came 3rd last year in that pile of junk car and GR came 8th...
I swear people just make up a narrative I their head then just spew out anything to justify it. Is it genuine forgetfulness or something else...?
Why did he get beaten by Bottas regularly? I think people underestimate checo and overestimate Valteri.
Yup. Checo got 10 podiums before RBR and Rosberg only got 2 podiums before Merc. Bottas I think 1 win.
Do you have to go ham with the annoying melodramatic cadence im your voice & accent. Why do you have to be so over the top in your delivery and hyperbole! Lewis is the 🐐 your delivery in your videos borderlines obnoxious levels.
Sounds like you do not like. You might not want to watch, if this is the case, therefore. Ta
@Cameron-Cc yeah that's true. I am a LH fan and I tuned in for your content but why the over the top delivery and the dramatics & theatrics? Just normal, understated delivery & cadence would engage a broader audience & be less irksome to most, no?
