next to Surface Pressure, this is (in my opinion) the best song in the film just bc of how many music styles they fit in it, it makes the song so much more interesting and catchy
I love the different styles of this song also I find it’s the song that reflex Lin’s style the most with Delores part and the vocal/lyric mashup at the end!
*Dolores*' part also fits her really well, given that she has super-hearing, the fact that when she's singing alone her voice is closer to a whisper matches quite well IMO
I've only just seen Encanto for the first time like two hours ago so I don't know the voices perfectly yet. In this reaction, I caught someone saying "I can still hear him". Was that Dolores admitting for the first time that she does in fact still hear Bruno around the house where he's been hiding? Or was that another character saying that.
@@ZariDV when she says "I can hear him now" She's referring to Mariano, as in her verse talking about the man of her dreams. (But in the same song she does admit that she hears Bruno, "I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling, I associate him with the sound of falling sand")
I love how Bruno appears in completely different ways throughout the song. With Pepa, it's her memory and probably the most realistic depiction of him (which I won't spoil here). Camilo literally makes Bruno (up) by transforming into him while singing about him. Dolores who sings about him in the most understanding way and is the only one who says that she can still hear him now doesn't need an image of him. He is literally in the background. With Isabella, it's all gone. The lights are literally all on her, also out of all the right reasons. What is said here in the video, is soo true. I am listening to the songs and keep watching this movie over and over and I find so many details that continue to make the movie incredibly deep. Really an amazing movie!
I think this track is more readily accessible. I think when you first hear it, something about it just sticks with you more. Then as you listen to others, like Family Madrigal and What Else Can I Do? (with its super strong Shakira vibe) and especially if you've seen the film, you appreciate the others more and how the different songs are woven into the other songs (you can hear Mirabel's "theme" which is Family Madrigal creep into What Else Can I DO? when she sings her parts, for example.)
This song is a mix between salsa, bachata, pop, love it, the dance steps👌🏻. The version in Spanish, the part of the boy, Camilo, is amazing, it has the Rrrr's and a beautiful hiss!!, the part of Dolores is also amazing, the part of the parents too and the same singers sing it in both versions, English and Spanish, it's perfect.
@@noar8189 Yeah… it could be. 🤔 Modern Cha Cha s and Son Montunos share the same instrumentation and pulse ans thus hard to tell the difference sometimes (or at least for me!). I initially just thought on how to dance this song and what came out was Cha Cha Cha! 🙏🏼😉
It is very much (Colombian) salsa inspired more than anything else, as is evident from the use of electric piano and electric bass, neither of which are present in Cha Cha Cha.
Did you notice how when Dolores’ part pops up from her initial ‘Hey’ all of the background noises (footsteps, skin contact of her grabbing Mirabel’s arm, the swish of her skirts when she turns) they’re all EXTREMELY amplified. When they’re doing their moving footsteps you can see they’re only using the tips of their toes but the sound is BIG. Showcasing Dolores’ powers of super hearing, such a small but glorious effect 😭
For me, this was the clear standout of the movie. Although spoiler free warning, I might be biased. The vocals in ‘Bruno’ are sung by def my favorite characters. In the story, they’re the main girl’s aunt, uncle and two cousins.

I feel like the only person that immediately thought that Camilo’s section sounded like Smooth by Santana ft. Rob Thomas. Voice and all. Not in a sample or copy kind of way, but in a style, energy, and “vibe” kind of way.

I just watched Encanto last night (after repeatedly watching Surface Pressure and We Don’t Talk About Bruno lol) and absolutely loved it. The music was killer and the story was so good! Definitely recommend it, even if you’ve already heard the music.

Bruno's name was actually going to be Oscar, but Lin made them change it to fit with the "Bruno, no, no, no" part. Imagine if it was Oscar! "We don't talk about Oscar, car, car, car. We don't talk about Oscarrrrr!"
That particular latin style is considered cha cha officially but it sounds so much closer to a cuban style called son montuno. There are some great exmples of it on youtube. A great syncopated rhythm, groovy basslines and short and almost decorative piano lines not to mention that slightly dark/moody chord structure

Song Summary: "We don't talk about Bruno, BUT!" Bruno told them very ordinary things. It's going to rain, a goldfish will die, you'll get heavy, you're going bald. Now it's his fault?
I really like this song because I feel its Latin sound. I think Disney did a very good job. But in the Spanish version "No se Habla de Bruno" is perfect because the main rhythm is a cumbia, as cumbia is a genre of tropical music from South America, Spanish is the best option to feel all the feeling.
At least, at the begining is not Bossa Nova. Lin-Manuel says it's cha-cha-cha, but for me, cha-cha-cha is faster. I truly believe it's a -Guajira- (like Robi Draco's or Celia Cruz' Guantanamera).
There are so many tones that echo "Non-stop" where everyone sings their parts overlapping and it SHOULD be noisy chaos but ends up gorgeous

@@JacobRestituto my favorite song
I really like this song because I feel its Latin sound. I think Disney did a very good job. But in the Spanish version "No se Habla de Bruno" is perfect because the main rhythm is a cumbia, as cumbia is a genre of tropical music from South America, Spanish is the best option to feel all the feeling.

You will love the movie
I bet!
not even 3 seconds in and he started pausing 😭😭😭
no hate btw
Lol 😂
At least, at the begining is not Bossa Nova. Lin-Manuel says it's cha-cha-cha, but for me, cha-cha-cha is faster. I truly believe it's a -Guajira- (like Robi Draco's or Celia Cruz' Guantanamera).

Yes
Idk if anyone else mentioned it but the beat is reminiscent of bugalu music (think "I like it like that" by Pete Rosriguez sampled by Cardi B)

Fyi, Pizzicato is when you pluck the strings instead of bowing it
