    I have a 2020 TRDP (also in AG) and I really haven't had any issues with auto high beams. I too wish it had some extra power. Although I didn't buy it to take to the track. I had a Chevrolet Tahoe before the 4runner, and do miss the space, but love the quality of the 4runner. Tahoe always had problems. Door actuators going out, back window wouldn't pop open, etc. 4runner is solid.

    Good video. I have a 2015 Inferno. I was on the front cover of the Feb 2016 Toyota Today magazine with it. I never thought about space inside being inadequate. Everything else is right on. My sliders are from White Knuckle Off Road and I had them built with no angle. It's my garage queen though (16K miles). My FJ is my daily car. Still like Inferno best. Voodoo Blue would be next.

    On your #1 gripe...had a 2019 Limited and that was truly gutless. Test drove a 2020 TRD Pro and I am going with one in white. The cat back is more than a placebo effect in my mind...gives a few more pound feet of torque in the lower end which I like as I have a 2009 Tacoma Dbl Cab with cat back and love both the extra little bit of power and nice throaty note to the exhaust as well. Just my opinion here though...everybody has their own opinion or perception about the cat back etc... Great video! Thanks for posting....getting ready to negotiate on the TRD Pro....like the softer suspension as I have two ruptured discs in my lower back and the Limited was a really harsh ride for me and the Limited leather seats were just not as comfortable as the TRD Pro. Hope you get many years of service and reliability from yours!

    If I owned a 4runner my no 1 gripe with it would be fuel economy !!! ☺️
    I ride in a maxima and fuel economy is not the best but at least I get the power and the speed.

  • @ziv2liv
    @ziv2liv 3 года назад

    The problem (Your #1) is not power, it's the way the 4 runner is tuned. The stock 4Runner (Regardless of trim) is tuned to save gas and since this vehicle is awfully inefficient, Toyota consciously tunes it to save gas. That makes it lackluster to say the least. However, there are some inexpensive aftermarket tuners (Such as the "Sprint booster" that cost under $300) that can change all that. It makes a huge difference.

    2015 Jeep Overland V8. More powerful, better fuel economy, arguably more stylish, all the bells and whistles, more comfortable, awesome headlights and a big heaping pile of TuRD. (See what I did there?). Yes, I grew bored of Toyota's bland styling and became complacent to the dependability I had known for 20 years. Bought the Jeep thinking "all manufactures are getting more dependable".
    Well, 2 weeks in I started having issues. Would not shift in reverse, would get stuck in reverse (my favorite), check engine caused by the "after market speaker I (never) installed (a speaker caused a check engine light?). Interior panels popping off, breaking the clips which they tried to make me pay again per the speaker I never installed. AC blowing cold when set below 75 regardless of ambient temp and heat when set above, again regardless of ambient temp. Groaning noises when pulling my boat. Popping noises they told us were just water bottles even though no water bottles were in there. Heck, car washes would even push it through because they were afraid of the unintended acceleration issues... In the shop 2 months of 6.
    6 months after I purchased the Jeep, I bit the bullet and traded it in because even if I could sell it, I did not want to pass it directly to someone else. I lost my @$$ on it given the value I had to eat, yet I oddly felt happy if not just relieved to get rid of the biggest pile of junk I have ever owned and drove out in a brand new 4Runner. Never will I take Toyota for granted. All these people can complain about it being dated or older technology, but one thing I can count on is that I can beat the heck out of this thing and it will get me and my family home. Shoot, I was worried I would not even be able to get the Jeep out of the garage...
    So, I could care less when people snicker, or claim Toyota is outdated. But I will agree they need to do something with the brightness and temperature of these lights.

      @@UntamedMotors Guys remember in addition to reliability...ya gotta think of a vehicle in terms of life cycle cost....acquisition cost, maintenance cost, and disposal cost or resale value. Based on these 5 gripes, sounds like you should have gotten a Tundra (or Sequoia) TRD Pro, which would have addressed your LED, Space, and power gripes. The "changes from older MY" is subjective and sounds like your auto high beams might be defective because I've a Lexus (GSF) and Toyota (Tundra TRD PRO) that works flawlessly.

    • @UntamedMotors
      @UntamedMotors  4 года назад

      Well I already have a truck with plenty of cabin space... so I didn't give much attention to the Tundra. The Sequoia looks too outdated for my taste. Sure it has the room but it doesn't look good on the outside, nor does it carry the same resale reputation the 4runner does. Specifically speaking, the lack of fender flares and 2003 taillights bother me on the Sequoia.

    I have to order mine with $3k deposit from the monopoly Toyota dealer (Servco Pacific in Hawaii). They had 6 Army Green and one Black all arrive at the same time. Army Green looks awesome in person. Can’t decide between 4Runner and Tacoma. I remember having our son in a car seat with our Grand Caravan that was very roomy. I figure you got the 4Runner for the fact that it’s storage is sealed and you already have a pickup. I have access to my dad’s truck so I’m leaning more towards the 4Runner since I would want to get a bed cover (which would add to the cost). Although the price difference would allow me to get one or just go without for a while. Any thoughts as to why you went with the 4Runner would be appreciated.
    Mahalo (Hawaiian for thank you)

      Hey bro the army green 4Runner you talking about is mine. Lol I just pick it up today and look so damn sexy. You should get the 4Runner in my opinion.

      Justin Young I owned a 2017 Tacoma TRD pro prior tour getting my Raptor. They are very tight inside... I definitely recommend the 4Runner over the Taco. You can checkout my Taco vids if you want.

    Try selling the rock crawlers and buy the correct ones. It would suck to stick with inconvenience for the life of the car.

    Still miles better then the crappy ass Taco with the 3.5 and horrid akison 6 speed. However, to make this a killer beast is if Toy would put the Prado D4D diesel from overseas. If they did that they would put jeep out of business lol.

      fully agree but most people who are paying almost 50 grand for a mid-size SUV aren't going to keep it for 20 years. Loved my 4runner but looking back I'd just buy an older one and use it as an off-road vehicle. Too many shortcomings as a daily driver once you switch to a full size vehicle.

    I’m trading my White 17 Pro in AG. I’m taking my Tyger steps off and putting them on my 2020. Pro. The Tyger steps are awesome and finish and getting in. I’m trading to get the upgrades compared to mine. My one only has a little over 12,000 miles.
