We went on this exact cruise on the NCL Escape from Barcelona this past September. I was very uneasy about the cruise concept and had never cruised before. Not only did we get a fun look into each of the stops, we also had invaluable, down to earth, targeted tips about the ports, the ship and cruising overall. It was the little details that made the difference in your videos vs. others. We cited your videos several times as we navigated our trip. Your insight was completely needed & appreciated. Thanks to you guys, we added Cinque Terre to the itinerary. We decided on booking an NCL excursion, but I super proud of your guys to tackling this DIY excursion. We definitely have the Amalfi Coast on our short list too. It just looks so beautiful. And we are huge fans of lemons 🍋 You both will have to come back and tell us how the weather was that time of year. We had never really thought about the Mediterranean in the fall like that. 😁🚢

I am really happy that I found your videos, I will be on the Escape next month with a similar itinerary. I am looking forward to it. I booked all of my excursions through NCL, my sister is not comfortable with touring on our own and the fear of not getting back to the ship on time. Thank you for sharing your adventures. @@peggysmith9019 Thank you!! We were a little hesitant to go out on our own too. But, we wanted to be able to compare experiences. We would recommend staying with the ship sponsored excursions until you feel more confident. There are tours that guarantee your return on time. The one we did in Florence had that guarantee. If you ever decide to be brave I would start with one with a guarantee. Have an amazing trip!!! Which port are you most excited about?? 😁🚢
@@peggysmith9019 We’ve heard Sorrento is spectacular and lemons are even bigger there than in Cinque Terre. Make sure to get some gelato or limoncello! 😋
I overnight in florence. One of those days will be my "sea day". I do want to see cagliari. I plan on seeing cirque terre based on your video. I can't wait.

@@johnthyen5599 Yeah, we are sure it will be busy. But, it will probably depend upon what you want to do. The Vatican and surrounding area is going to be crammed with people. But, the Colosseum might not be too busy. If you’re not dying to be at the Vatican on Easter I would stick to more traditional Roman sites and they won’t be as crowded. Let us know how it goes!! 😁🚢

Loved your review.I did a similar cruise last year on NCL Epic.( Not my favorite ship) I still had a fantastic time.Next time in Palma you must go Soller and ride the tram. My husband and I loved watching this series since its exact cruise we’re taking with the exception of the ship. We’re on the Breakaway. Can I ask if NCL booked your flight? We asked them to fly us in the day before. Wondering what your experience is if you had them make the flight arrangements for you. Thanks!
@@joelyisdoingherbest Thank you so much!! 😊 We did not use NCL for our flight. We booked through them for our Alaska cruise and the lack of control was not worth it for us. We were on less than ideal flights too. Left at 6am on the way there and each couple had different flights on the way back. They were too far apart to drive to the airport together. 2 cars and an overnight near the airport made them much less of a deal. So we wanted to pick our flight when it was that long. Glad you’re going in a day early. It’s always a good idea. And they will allow 1-2 days early and 1-2 days later if you want to extend your vacation. Hope it goes well for you. You’ll have to share your flight experience once you get back! 😁🚢
I am doing the same itinerary in November. We booked our flights with NCL. There is no direct flight to Barcelona from our city so I was nervous it could be a lot of connections but they booked us on flights with only 1 connection each way. I am a little nervous as our flight on disembarking is at 10am but with NCL being the ones to book for us I assume they will make sure to get us there on time. As an added bonus our flights home ended up being booked in Premium.
