You're right. I've been making music for years, grinding and taking subsequent breaks, foolishly wondering why I'm not pushing the needle. The people who enjoy what I create deserve to see progress, and I deserve to make progress. I'm gonna play this video before work every day for 21 days and maybe this will get me back into the right mindset.
Failure is status quo, success is progress. You don't have to believe in yourself, just look at the world with detachment and act like a cold optimizer. If you failed, you simply didn't have enough information. Try again and see what happens. Not that you have anything else to do in this world.
If you doubt yourself then doubt yourself thinking you know it's not going to work. If you only doubt your positives thats factually and mathematically wrong And then reinforcing proof of the negative only Thats not even realistic doubt. Youre being an irrational bias radical feminist type person against yourself. Lol Fr
I really had not thought about how I’m not motivated because I don’t believe that I will succeed. It’s funny how most of my life problems come from very bad self esteem
I have so many projects I never finished or never even started. Watching this video gave me new motivation to just gi for it (but tomorrow, it's 1 AM already). Thanks!
Brother. I relate to you on this. I started not seeing my mistakes and failures as part of me and always wondering why again? It made me so much better when I just focus on picking myself up again
"What if I wasn't failing, but just quitting before it had a chance to work." I know it's rather cliché to put the motivational quote in the comments, but this one really hits differently. Thank you.
This video is really helping me to put a lot of things into perspective for the first time. I have struggled with weight and body image issues for a long time. When I was much younger, I was too thin to look like the jacked men that I looked up to. When I grew up a bit, I swung in the opposite direction, again, without any muscle on my frame. I also wasn't athletic. I almost thought that I would never even get close to my goal physique, much less achieve it. The keyword here is almost. On some level, I must have believed it must have been possible, because I still kept going at it. I tried working out so many times, but I never stuck with it long enough to see any real results. I would get frustrated after only a few days or, sometimes, weeks. Fast forward to 2021. This was by far the worst year of my life. I was depressed for seemingly no reason, which made me even more depressed because I invalidated my own feelings by comparing myself with people whose situations were worse than my own. It wasn't just because of my body, though. I thought I had fundamentally failed as a human and that perhaps the world would be a better place if I did not exist. Somehow, with some support, I was able to make it out of 2021 and I tried to finally lose some weight. I tried an exercise and dieting program, but I couldn't even tell you if it worked because I was only on it for 16 weeks and I wasn't really going as hard as I would have liked. After this attempt to get in shape, I just let myself go, and became my heaviest at 88kg. At 165cm, this was a nightmare. Occasionally, I would have people make remarks about my body. One time, someone even told me that I occupied too much space in the back of the ride we had ordered for an outing. I felt like a hippo, minus their incredible strength. I had almost given up by that point. I was still unhappy, but I didn't know what to do about it. The thought of possibly achieving more than I had was a thought that continuously tortured me as I tried to settle for less. It wasn't until last year, on the 6th of September that I realized I had had enough. I was going to try one last time, but this time, I would do things differently. If I failed here, then I would just give up forever. I had to make this shot count. So, I went to work. I re-educated myself on what I needed to start. This was when I discovered that lifting was a better way to achieve my long-term weight loss and muscle-building goals. I also decided that I would take on a more experimental approach. For instance, I had always tried to wake up early and workout first thing in the morning. However, I hated that. It wasn't for me, and I wasn't about to force myself to do something that would make me quit again. So, I started working out in the evenings, and sometimes, even late at night, when it is generally not recommended to do so. I experimented with a lot of routines. If I didn't like an exercise, I would educate myself on using the correct form, or I would switch out the exercise for another that could accomplish the same thing. I was madly persistent too. This time, though, I actually solved the problems that presented themselves on my path. It was difficult, but slowly, I started to make progress. I went down many kilos. Somehow, at the start of my journey that night on September 6th, I discovered that I was lighter than I was in 2022. I can't tell you what I did, but I was 8 kilos lighter than I was in 2022. Still, 80 kg is a lot of weight for someone at my height. Again, I continued. Three times a week every week. I gave myself room to fail as well. At a minimum, I needed one day of exercise in the week. I was finally transforming. People began to take notice. I began to take notice. Now, I am down 10 kilos with some muscle gained and it has been a year since I started this. I have actually even gone below 70 kg, but I figured that I wanted more muscle on my frame, which is why I'm currently heavier than what most people would call my ideal body weight. What you have made me realize is that the people who succeed aren't the ones that just doggedly persist when the going gets tough. Creativity. Problem-solving. These are the things that make a difference. If you try something and it doesn't work, find another way to do that thing. If you can't find another way, then change how you execute that strategy. There has to be something that you aren't doing or aren't doing correctly. Document what you have done so that you don't have to do it again. Really think about how to achieve your goals. The issue was never discipline. The issue was that for whatever reason, you couldn't solve the problems that you faced. You also viewed your mistakes as setbacks and things that shouldn't happen. Meanwhile, what happened was exactly what should have happened, given your skills and knowledge at the time. Understand: you are not where you want to be because you are not yet the kind of person who would be in that position. To get there, you need to be able to try things and be willing to step back and reflect on what you have done so that you can change if necessary. Thank you for reading this far if you did. That was a long one, but I needed to let all my thoughts out to make sense of them. To the creator of this video, thank you for sharing your story. Let's all keep striving to become better problem solvers. Lastly, don't forget that you need to believe on some level that you can do whatever it is that you want to do. The fact of the matter is that if you are watching videos like this one or reading books or trying to find out some way that you can finally change your life, then it follows that on some level you believe that you can do it. If you didn't, you wouldn't be here.

I failed first year of engineering school. Didn't even was bother about starting again because like you said in you video, we have to learn from our mistakes and fix the problems that cause them.
I learned when I was studying for a big test that every mistake I made was one less error, and once I learned from it, I was closer to success. That kept me motivated to keep going
Thanks a lot brother. I hope this video will be the one that makes me realize my mistakes and take actions about them. Just like you I've been doing the same mistakes for over 5+ years.
this video was everything i needed to hear, i feel exactly like that and i've always seen people telling that discipline is the only way to get through it, but none of them talked about how we don't achieve things because we never try or we stop in the middle of the process, the problem is we don't think we are capable of doing it so the easy way just get more attractive. Thank you for the video, it honestly opened my mind
"What if I wasn't actually failing, but quitting before it had a chance to work?" Okay that blew my mind. That felt like a life changing sentence. Now I'm analyzing every art project I've started and stopped and realized it doesn't have to be over and failed just because I stopped for a while. Thank you for this video.
