*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. But, I'll be ok, and I'm getting both channels in the earbud, thanks for your concern :)

Sara Bareilles is one of the most underrated singer-songwriters ever. Her albums Blessed Heart and Kaleidoscope are freacking brilliant, some favorites are Gonna Get Over You, The Light, Chasing The Sun, Uncharted, Manhattan, I suggest you listen to both of them, trust!!!!!!!!

Sara Bareilles is probably one of the best songwriters in music today. She wrong a whole friggin broadway musical. In 2016, Waitress, was nominated for including for best musical and best original score. The show has remained on Broadway for nearly three years and recouped its $12 million investment just 10 months after opening, which makes her one of an exclusive club of profitable Broadway composers on *her first try*.
Whether you react or not, you should give a listen to She Used to be Mine and Gravity.

Oh God! Thank you, thank you! THIS IS MY FAVOURITE SINGER EVER! Her amazing way to write, play piano and her voice is amazing, the way you smile at the reaction is the same I got everytime I listen to her. There’s a lot of good music that you can react from Sara.

Sara definitely is one of the best lyricists out there. You may check out Gravity, King of Anything, and She Used to be Mine. But I highly suggest looking at her more recent songs like Fire and Armor!

You HAVE to do ‘she used to be mine’ by sara bareilles!!!! Specifically the one performed on the graham norton show recently is INCREDIBLE
She has one of the best voices in the music industry and has that clarity and calmness in her vocals that just makes you feel good. I love Roar and I know it’s way more catchier and anthemic and a mega-successful global hit but Brave hits something differently.
Her songs Gravity and Manhatten are my faves. Soooo beautiful and sad and heart breaking

Oh PLEASE go down the rabbit hole that is Sara Bareilles. She is one of my favorite lyricists. I would also recommend Brandi Carlile if you're a fan of lyricists.
Also she specifically made this song for a friend of hers who was gay and kind of scared of coming out to their family/other friends. It was encouragement for them to accept who they are

Sara really is great! I'd suggest listening to Love Song (it has a great backstory), I'd also suggest King of Anything, Gonna get over you, and Uncharted. Those are my personal favs

Wait, Iv heard something like this before but where? Oh thats right. Literally everywhere for the last ten years. Dont get me wrong, its a nifty little pop song and she can clearly sing but, as I said, Iv heared it before. Many, many, many times. Never heard of Sara Bareilles before though so I have to check out some of her other stuff before I can cast any form of judgement on her as an artist. BRB, lol. Edit: Ok, she got talent and it sounds like she write her own stuff and thats always good. "Gravity" sounded real good. "Love Song" too. I stand corrected.

I honestly think ppl don't really pay attention when it comes to similar sounding songs, they just say "oh it's literally the same" but, is it tho?
Brave and Roar are just an example of this, and like you said, the chord progression and the melody have notable differences to each other, but the message is pretty similar, such as the intro + they're on the same key and that is enough to some ppl for calling the latest song a rip off.

Gonna Get Over You: also not deep, but musically it's a great song and it's a super fun video, IMO. You'll definitely see more confirmation that she loves hiring unconventional dancers. Being that you like reacting to Taylor Swift an interesting comparison is Taylor Swift: Style & One Direction: Perfect.
Harry 'Style's dated Taylor and they released these songs not too far apart, they almost feel like a call and response, with both being the same length, both Track 3 on the respective albums and when played over the top of each other (eg. ruclips.net/video/zG3lUOPs4-k/видео.html ) there are many similarities and times when it feels like one answers the others.
