Snow cone vendor in Antigua, Guatemala -- December, 2014

Here's a snow cone vendor in Antigua, Guatemala. No sugar in this recipe! It's made from fresh fruit, salt, and powdered beef and chicken consomme. Personally, I think it would be better with just the juice and salt. The animal products didn't improve the taste, as far as I was concerned. But I'm not Guatemalan.

I’d love to know what all ingredients he used.
I grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles and we had those Mexican guys walking around with those sno cone setups using a block of ice and manual shaver. They never used fresh citrus though.

It just looks so labour intensive. All that fresh fruit, time to shave the ice, add all the ingredients and for how much??? A few pennies on the USD. It is just unfair...the international labor trade market.
