Those were the real golden days of country music which are the best of even today. They were so classy. All could have joined in the singing. What happen in this day and age. Every sense of the word of country just gone to the dogs. Not fit for cattle class. Thy old country just respected everybody was so united helped one another enjoyed each other’s company. You can see the happiness in everybody , watching all this brings so much joy in every way. Thank you again for making this happen, bless you all.
I grew up hearing this song all my life, being from Texas and both my parents native San Antonians.....but, I am forever grateful to Merle Haggard for keeping this music alive and playing it at almost everyone of his shows....great music from The Playboys and Merle through the years! God Bless all the "true" country stars!
Opening song by The Texas Playboys-"Steel Guitar Rag". "San Antonio Rose" was originally written in 1939 as an instrumental by Bob Wills and. it became his signature song. In 1940 a couple of member of the Playboys wrote lyrics and they re-recorded it with Bob's long time vocalist Tommy Duncan and renamed the song "New San Antonio Rose". It was on of Patsy Cline's biggest hits.
We had the pleasure to have Patsy Montana with husband Fred Rose AS guests at our Home in 1985. Very lovely people. Patsy or Ruby, of you wish, hast always been one of my favorite female country singers. One of the great musicians from Arkansas like Jimmie Driftwood, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, etc
The narrator of this film is Larry Black. The father of all Country Reunions. He owns "Country Roads" the subscription Country Music Streaming channel.
I thought it was country-western they were describing. Maybe they dropped western because cowboys went out of fashion. Or maybe because California had already lost all sense of morals. Or maybe because everything "country" west of Nashville was lost revenue for Nashville. They just should have called it modern hillbilly music and left it at that unashamed
In 1949 I heard Hank Williams sing Lovesick Blues. I was 14 yrs old. That song has been a favorite of mine. I’m 89 years old now.
Awesome, I grew up listening to this music on the radio!
Thanks for posting this, my kind of music

What are you saying? Your grammar makes no sense.
with all due respect, that's a very sad statement. those who truly appreciate music will never let it "pass".
It’s both and it will never pass away
Please stop
