I think actually, I’ve probably got the world record for fasted Vanquish Phoenix…. I think we could decided by who can get there’s back to stock and crawling in the quickest time 😅
Of course, I'm watching my boy Tomley's video first before the other ones. He blessed us with a 49-minute video! Excited to watch it. Starting now! EDIT: Just got done watching it! That was a fantastic video! I really enjoyed every minute of it. Sorry about the 2 comments. Just wanted to let you know that was insane, hope to see you do more challenges like this. Off to watch the other guys. Hope you win. Best of luck Phil!
@@TomleyRC Of course this was also my first video I watched before all the others, and about the comment about the 'minimum effort bit - Phil, haters and trolls be haters and trolls. Ugh, after reading some comments you really feel like you need to take a shower with some antiseptic shower gel, yuck!!!
Love how you all took a bit of a different approach to the challenge and how you built your trucks. It looks like you all had fun and it was awesome to see your journey. Looks like you'll be able to adjust a few things and your be back out on the rocks with a really nice truck. Great job hitting 71, very impressive!
What I ABSOLUTELY LOVE about this is the British engineering that went into this, and it very almost won using a a recycled plastic box when other channels spent thousands on titanium cages and carbon chassis'
I love that you kept it stockish in the chassis, body, and ride height. no crazy aero, and you still got a fast speed. Hats off to you and your effort! These were sooooo much fun to watch!
Phil considering your truck looks the most like a stock VS4 Phoenix, you did an outstanding job with this challenge. I hope this collaboration makes you more visible to even more people in our hobby. Thank you for all your hard work and I’m glad you had fun doing it🤘🏻
You did an excellent job. You demonstrated some ingenuity and adaptability. I think you should be proud of your work. You like movie quotes. As Sergeant Highway said, "You adapt. You overcome, and You improvise."
I was pretty excited when they mentioned you got invited to try this challenge. Haven't seen any of the other videos yet, but for such minimal changes 71mph is really solid. The boat motor mount seemed like it held up well and got you what you needed.
A lot of fun. I really like the look. Yours is the first video I watched. Didn’t realize you each would have your own video…of course it makes sense. Looking forward to watching the others, then seeing the results. GREAT JOB. Thanks for all your hard work.
That was a super cool video, i'm super happy you were part of this mayhem. Very nice effort and idea you had with the boat mount and direct drive. Thanks a lot. Cheers Mate.
I've been playing with my enduro gatekeeper trying to see how fast I can get it to go . I'm using a brushed system so far on 3s battery with an armma mega 12t motor and a hobbywing 1060 esc running it with my flysky gt5 remote so I set my dr setting down on the throttle and on the steering so I don't over steer ,lol. I don't have a GPS but I've got it going pretty fast on this set up . I also swapped out the 87tspur and 18t pinion for a 78t spur and 29t pinion . I did also have to limit my suspension travel using zip ties and am currently still using the general grabber tires that it came with but I had de lugged the rear tires which makes it a bit scary to go too fast but I plan to get some better tires for road and possibly throw in a brushless system too. Love this hobby , you can do whatever you like as long as you have a bit of imagination lol thanks for sharing this video , I thought I was the only nut job taking a crawler and making it fast lol
That was great! I think your truck was the fastest with basically a stock chassis and no ground effects. Definitely the sleeper truck of the competition. You did have a great test track and you got lots of wheel time, so I imagine that helps with the confidence. On the other hand, you didn’t have ready access to spare parts so you couldn’t bash the heck out of it. All-in-all, one of my favourites of the competition.
I was getting really annoyed that it wasn't working haha... but it's a flying machine! I might have top throw some proper aero at it and see what it's capable of!
Well worth the wait. Everyone will probably give you well deserved applause on the build, well done. But your production value and story telling are top notch as well. Bangin
Fantastic effort, your my second video so far, brilliant content, top effort with a very good top speed. Lovin the format, hats off to you all for being such good sports. Your all a credit to our great love of rc's. Excellent job Phil. On to the next... john
Great video, Phil. I love this format, would be great it do these challenge videos more often and include other RUclips RC channels too. All do your own build videos so you all have content, the organic growth you could all generate would be so worth it.
I love how WPL’s D12 speed challenge got all the other companies doing speed challenges. Its so great for the enthusiasts and the companies, what a great time to be in the rc hobby.
Hi Phil I've been looking forward for today. Got my beers and other essentials in for a AFTERNOON of AMAZING CONTENT. I'm a fan/follower of most of the contests. Obviously WATCHING TEAM TOMLEY first. Good luck to everyone (PHIL) 🇬🇧🇺🇲🇨🇦🕊️✌🏼🤙🏼 🇬🇧 GO TEAM TOMLEY 🇬🇧✌🏼
I liked your build the best honestly. It's the only one that still looks like a crawler. I just got an element gatekeeper, I'm putting IFS on it, and a 3300kv 3s brushless system from an arrma typhon. Plan is 70-80mm shocks(to go lower) make it a little wider, and put a proline raptor body on it. Not building a basher, but I wanted to see how fast I could get a crawler in the dirt. I will break it...I know...but it's fun.
Your best video yet Phil, the editing and the trials and tribulations you went though to get this done is just epic. I hope you are proud of what you accomplished here, I certainly enjoyed it from where I'm sitting.
That was awesome, very entertaining to watch. I know you weren't able to change it, but the first run you did I thought, oooh that wheelbase is a little short to be stable at speed.
Very nice to follow your process, the video was really well put together and of course an amazing result! No idea how the others are doing, not sure I manage to watch more 50 minute videos, might check how Francis did maybe. I just took part in something similar but on smaller scale, Poor Boys RC had a challenge to make a Tamiya CW-01 go fast, I managed 36 mph, ha ha, it was really difficult. Fastest guy did 56, really cool!
What a cracking video buddy, that truck looks great as a crawler and to get it to 69mph as well wow good job, I love that grey on that truck best colour for and car rc or real car, that was a great watch thanks Tomley 👊💪💯💯💯
Great effort Phil and very entertaining. I’ve watched all 8 videos which is quite a challenge in itself! They were all great and I loved the variety. You did the UK proud. Would be great to get all 8 contributors on a live stream (if you can get up that early!)
Really interesting video Phil. That was a joy to watch mate.....now get that returned back to crawler mode. It'll be good to see just what all this crawler is capable of.
Spectacular runs, Phil. Amazing job, and I think you definitely own the record in the UK. For now. 😉

Elon Gate 🤣 this guy KILLS me every single time 😂
the damage is good, it's a crawler that looks like it's had some bumps and bruises - perfect!

Thank you. I knew I had the right space and surface to run it on, so wanted to try and get as much smooth power as I could
I like the simple design and the ability to rework it for crawling later.....good job

Nice long video, sorted myself a cuppa and got comfortable for this one! Can see why you were selected to be involved
You had the best build imho, nice to see you stick with as stock as possible.
Great result. I looked at some of the other builds and they were mental on effort and re-design for not much more speed

awesome :) Hope Josh can get you new body when its not available in UK :))

1. A crawler goes faster than my Kraton
2. Phil loves coffee!
I love the Jeremy Clarkson clips. SPEED AND POWAH!!!
