Algeria 🇩🇿is the 10 th largest country in the world, with a population of more than 45 million people, enjoying many riches such as gas, oil and gold. It has many tourist places (forests, beaches, desert). Its history stretches back centuries. US President George Washington paid the tax to Algeria to facilitate the passage of American ships in the Mediterranean Sea, which was controlled by Algeria, as well as many European countries who payd , and Algeria was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of the United States. It had a large military force and a giant naval fleet in the Middle Ages. It was subjected to French occupation in 1830. The Algerian revolution against French colonialism is considered one of the largest revolutions in the world. More than 1.5 million Algerians fell there. It became independent in 1962, and the founder of the modern Algerian state is Emir Abdelkader. I enjoys the vid 🙂
Correction: French is not among the official languages of Algeria, it is still taught in schools and is heavily used in universities, but otherwise Arabic and Tamazight (the different branches of Berber languages) are the only two official languages in the country. Still, this was a great video and you have a very relaxing voice, great work!
I still to this day have no idea why I said that, because you're right, French is not an official language! I just have been thinking of another country that I was researching while I was filming this one. Thanks for the comment, I really do appreciate corrections in the comments so my videos are as accurate as possible ☺️
❤️ 🇩🇿 my country, thank you for the video and please make sure your followers to know that our mother tongue language is Arabic , we’re a Muslim country and French is just a second language
Just to inform you, the algerian naval fleet became weak after thé Naffarin naval battle, were the ottoman naval fleet couldn't fight alone the allies, thé égyptians were supposed to help, but they didn't, that's why we got weakend, and for thé américains, they had good relations whit the gouvernement, and they were weak compared to the algerian fleet, wich was known for it's power. And pirates IS a term europeans and américans invented, but for us out gouvernment obliged all stranger boats paying to take thé mediteranian sea, and for thé slavery and hostages were boats of people not related to thé gouvernement. Thé pirates origins were from every where. Europeans, Ottomans, Arabs, Asians, and also Américans, there wasn't really a pirate gouvernement, and that's it. Thanks for Reading.
Imazighen were not slaves of Phoenicians nor were they forced to join their army. The Carthaginians used Mercenaries. The Imazighen joined their army bcs they got payed. They revolted in 241 BC bcs they didn’t get payed as the Carthaginians were going through a crisis after the first Punic war
Thanks for making this video ! I just wanted to correct someting real quick (French isn't an official language) and also I'm not sure about berbers being salves... From what I heard, they were payed not forced to join their army.
