For me this is an epic set to pass onto the next generation! It's a stunning, historical coin and THE momento for HM QEII unfortunate passing and the Kings accession.
Thanks BYB, an excellent analysis. It’s the first Charles III sovereign and a magnificent design. Definitely a coin to have. For the first time I have purchased the five coin set.
Sovereigns are my favorite coins to stack gold, I got both 2022 memorial coins, with QEll and KClll. It a no brainer because the premium was just 2€ over random sovereigns and the memorial editions are more likely to pay off in the future.
It's only certain people who measure the success of a coin by how quickly it sells out. The pumpers and flippers. I have little time for these people. I buy a coin because I like it and want it in my collection. End of
Thanks for the poingnent remarks. I certainly wasn't going to miss out on historically significant coins but the level of schadenfreude on The Silver Forum was quite palpable. A certain minority concluded it was a flop. I think they're stunning and worthy of any collection. I could care less what the naysayers thought.
This sovereign is just stunning, i dont think for one second that the images we have seen will do it justice when we actually look at it with our own human eyes. Think about how much more this coin is costing compared to the price of the last proof sovereign and all of us that have bought one are in no doubt it is still a good investment. This coin will become more and more desirable with each passing year. I have seen royal mint sell out of a big ben £100 coin in hours and for them to be selling on ebay for double, same with the old puddleduck and snowmen to name just a few, only for them to crash just as quickly as they sold out. The coins in my collection that are now the most desirable are those that took their time to become the great works of art they are, prestige cannot just happen and this coin has everything, it is desirable and unique and i just wish i could afford another one to sell when the obvious happens some time in the not too distant future. I hope King Charles can be in good health for a good amount of time but anything can happen, it is possible this will be the only unique design sovereign during his reign, at 74 the years ahead are far fewer than behind, if this was his only sovereign its a belter and he could not have wished for better, it will go down in history as arguably the most beautiful sovereign ever produced.
👍Thanks for the update, I almost bought the full Sovereign, but ended up settling on the half… the rest of my budget went towards the 2022 5oz antiqued/coloured silver Rising Phoenix coin from the Perth Mint. Both are beautiful coins
I just got the half, it was in my price range and the mintage was quite low, I hope it does well, I see sovereigns are so easy to flog on the silver forum, but half sovs seem a bit harder to shift
Everyone still waiting? I was excited to order but now nervous about putting £6k in to the 5 coin set. They took payment over the phone a month ago and then refunded 4 days later
Hi BYB I dont know if you know but if you buy the 5 sovereign set yearly there's a way you can have first refusal of future coins before they are available to the general public
Well they have arrived now and the coins look absolutely awesome, in fact i'm going to stick my neck out here and say there is a chance that over time they may do as well as the 1989 proof sov, certainly look just as stunning.
I do wish the Royal Mint would take a few more moments for consideration when editing their images for their website. The piedfort version of this coin, if you right click and open image in new tab, you can see awful artifacts (for lack of better words) around the rim of the coin 😬 Times are very hard, financially, but we've managed to get a half-sovereign of this kind. Very pretty. I know it will take a while to ship, but very excited (PS- when you control+F, if you start typing "totalavailable" instead of "available" it'll take you straight to the remaining amount of stock)
I set a strict budget for gold silver savings and investments so if I had a bit more notice could have got what I wanted but at year end it's a bit late and settle for a half. Will keep an eye out to see what stays in stock though after seeing this and might cancel re-order.
I am so with you on the wonky image. It stuck out like a sore thumb as soon as the page loaded. So disappointing they won't put that tiny bit of extra effort into the presentaion. Saying that, at least their site was available and did't crash and burn like the RAMs did for the Rememberance day coin release. 🥺 still waiting to get one
Will there be a difference from when people receive their coins if they buy on the royal mail website or from a big online dealer? Online dealers say January 2023.
I think this coin is gorgeous regardless of what the nay sayers think. If he becomes as successful as his mother in times of crisis the Diana cultists will be wishing they'd bought them.
People are just waiting for deals IDK if you guys have black friday or cyber monday deals in the UK or maybe we're all saving our money for the recession...
Im from the USA and buy from the RM all the time. They take Visa, MC and Amex. Make sure your credit card is in good working order (not sure if debit will work). I used Visa and MC (no international fees) for my orders. Feel free to call the RM and talk to them, they are really nice, much better than in the US. Avoid email, they take weeks to answer… Good luck!

Yep, if you're happy with it then do it, you're experienced enough

That's kindly of you to upload today even though you said (yesterday) you weren't going to upload today
Well, I thought it would be worth doing. Having to film this twice was a problem

thanks for sharing! I got the 3 coins set. Take care my friend 🙏🏻🙏🏻you are losing your voice. get some rest 🌷🌷health is also wealth 😊😊
I read that comment by silver Mike yesterday and thought the same, brilliant information collected by him.
Totally, was amazing to see

Thank you sir for sharing a great video And great information I enjoy all your videos.
I got mine!
Awesome!
Grabbed myself the 4 coin set on the morning of release day, i'm really excited to receive it 😀
Those look awesome I have been wondering if it's a different color of gold when I see pics it looks pink which is cool
Wasn't the '89 sovereign a flop? Look at it now.
I think the future will be good for these.
Yes indeed it was.
I hope you feel better soon, BYB. Thanks for the video anyway. I'm looking forward to seeing the coins when you get them.
Loving the videos! I've bought the 5 set. What's your thoughts on the piedfort? Would complete the whole set? What about appreciation on the piedfort?
Personally I think it's interesting and if the funds can stretch it is something to add in my opinion
@@BackyardBullion thankyou for the reply. I don't know if the funds can stretch another 1300😫. The 5 set has destroyed my bank balance🤣.

I wondering would you pick the double sovereign or the piedfort sovereign coin?

I think a lot off mint mark members thought the price of the 5 coin set was just high so the sets came back into stock

Love how you fixed the wonky coin lol you couldn't let it go
Honestly, so annoying. Fixed with Photoshop in a minute....
I think it is an awesome coin. If I could I would get some.
Great input @Backyard Bullion. Many thanks! 🙂
Liz, Charles, Will and maybe George should have a decent collection by the end of my days.
got a full sovereign for my grandfather
I like my sovereign,s to look gold ,,not polished brass 🤔
They just cost way too much
I disagree, but that's OK!

Are they all going to be Proofs or will they do a Bullion version?
Yes , you had the option to sign up for release info on the bullion set .. think they will be out late or early January ..
The double is a corker.
Sovereign or piedfort ?
It's a beautiful coin, but I can't stand the colour of modern sovereigns
I think the proofs will surprise you, the last ones were gold rather than pink
LOL. The ear sure looks prominent on the obverse. 👂
I can't seem to be able to purchase from usa.
How do I buy from usa?
I don't know my friend, but others have managed. Maybe you have to contact the mint directly
@@BackyardBullion if you can on the next video, ask your members how they do it? Maybe they have to pay over prices on ebay etc..

@@scanssystems2 when I go to check out it tells me it's not available at my country. Doesn't even let Me add a credit card.
Never been a fan of Sovereigns. Looks like a lovely coin but not for me.
Fair enough, thanks for sharing!
I've got the double sovereign with the Queen and it's nice
@@des_smith7658 @BYB...you guys are trying to convince me....😝
I prefer the queen's Royal Arms, but for the colour of the metal
I would go for a quarter ounce something or other
Miss the group orders
Me too!
Your a coin flipper ? Haven’t you flipped coins before ? Flippin awesome coins 😂
Garlic…..will help your voice.
i just hate gold that is not 24k...
Not my cup of tea.
Fair enough!
Rambling on.
I like the coin but not the king
Ok, whatever.
Do you know Charles personally then ? 🤔
No offence, I may have some misconception but I prefer to stick with older sovereigns for now
It’s an ugly overdone coin
