Thank You! Love folks that share their talent with us newcomers , most instruction videos on RUclips give you 20 seconds then direct you to the pay page to see the rest. You are much appreciated

I put my Sagmoen 5string down about 5years ago having never been able to master clawhammer. On a whim I decided to look into two finger style and behold these beautiful tunes w/tabs. Now I have a resource . I still play my six string alot but this will add a new dimension of enjoyment. Great work> thanks Mike

That’s great to hear Mike. Check out Matt Brown’s channel too. He has some excellent instructional videos as well as performance videos for thumb-lead two finger banjo.

Thanks for sharing Jack. I'm 83 years old and just started trying to learn how to play a few months ago. The other players you mentioned have some great videos also but you have broken the process down to the simplest form of any I have come across so far. Your style and playing ability is great and you have graciously posted lots of free videos. I don't think these old fingers of mine will ever move quick enough to utilize those videos but they are greatly appreciated.

Never to old to start Bill! Glad to hear that this video is helping. Yes, I tried to make it about as simple as possible to actually play a tune without getting lost in all the nuances of the style. And if you aren't aware, you can change the speed of RUclips videos. Look in the lower right of the video frame of a menu of icons. Click on the Settings icon (looks like a gear) and then in the fly-up menu, click on Playback Speed. That will give you a list of preset speeds, including 0.75X and 0.5X. Really a useful function, for young and old fingers alike!

I would really appreciate a Willow Garden/Rose Connelly two finger lesson with tabs. It’s on of my favorites and am desperate to learn it. You, your videos, and your tabs are very helpful! I have learned Blackest crown and Lazy John from you.

Great suggestion Edward. I started playing Willow Garden just after reading this. Two finger is so wonderful for 3/4 time. I’ll have to clean it up a bit and work up a tab, but it’s now at the top of the queue.
