I do have a lot of respect to most of the BTP in general for their work of handling and smoothening out traffic problems in Bengaluru. However, since I noticed some of them routinely not following the procedure, I had to document this for public awareness on the same.

If traffic police is doing right then where the fuxk is the parking area infront of every shop on the mainroad? Which means i can go on my bike or car anywhere but i cannot park it anywhere and get down? I cannot leave my vehicle and get my work done? Corrupt bengaluru traffic police. Even there took my bike in Jeevan Bhima Nagar, not even 2 seconds, was doing 1 RS xerox, simply there took and I paid 600, even there broken my bike also. Towing people don't have respect also, there do like IPS offers. Hate Bangalore Police

They tow because they can make money, not because it is obstructing traffic. It's a pity that no action will be taken despite videographic evidence.
Mistakes of not protesting strongly against these thieves in uniform by the public and the judiciary instead of taking serious note of putting the commoners into deep trouble by these daytime robbers they turn a blind eye.
High time a legal opinion is taken and complaints are filed with the traffic police commissioner. Upon no response, file a public interest litigation
Traffic police are the worst . After the increase in fines once the vehicle is towed(750 for 2wheelers and 1100 for 4 wheelers ) don't know exactly I maybe wrong ,only thing happening is they are becoming rich faster now bribe has increased from 100 to /400/500 for two wheelers and from 200 to 700/800 for four wheelers . When it comes to jobs to make fast money be a traffic police in Bangalore.

Good work! My bike was once towed away to Jeevan Bhima Nagar station, I checked with traffic police officer there, he said that the towing job is contracted to third party. Recently the towing charges paid to these contracts have been increased considerably. More revenue for contractor if he tows more vehicles! Note that they tow more bikes than cars, bikes give more towing revenue!
Appreciate your efforts!!! Wish we had more CCTV cameras to be used as proof against these contracted thieves...

They make more money from two wheelers than a four wheelers, they can load 10-12 two wheelers at a time, Rs.750 fine for each, but they can tow only one four wheeler for Rs.1200 fine. I've seen these guys dragging and loading bikes parked on pavement in a parking area which doesn't cause any obstruction to traffic.
They themselves are violators.
They must have taken heavy bribe for so much effort they have done.

Best Solution - Pay the fine, ignite the towing vehicle and drive away. This will instill fear in towing contractors before they think of heading out for such work.
AJsVIEW once you pay the fine they will have your registration records so igniting the tow vehicle will put the person in direct danger

Worst people they won't take 100/- when they touch the bike on no-parking zone and they won't give bill also if you ask for receipt they will tell us to pay 750/- for 2 wheels and 1500/- for cars
Keep up the good work BTP. These vehicle users do not know how much risk the pedestrians have to take because of their parking on footpaths. They park on footpath to make their life easier. Autos park at bus stops forcing the passenger to risk an accident while boarding or deboarding a BMTC bus. Lack of parking space is not the problem of the pedestrian.
25% of fine amount collected should be given to the towing crew and the police officer to be shared. May their tribe increase.
There's no traffic police who follow the rule of calling out the number of the vehicle that is parked. In our city parking rules keep changing.

What happens if a person who parked his bike in front ATM and went to withdraw money for some emergency and his bike tow by traffic police with out any announcement and if owner of the bike is in hurry to reach his friend or someone who need the money ?

Even I had an similar experience. No announcement, nothing just took the vehicle. Even after requesting he didn't stop. The police office doesn't even know the rules when we mentioned about that.

There is no announcement or anything. They take the vehicle to get the bribes. I experienced it myself in Sarjapur Road. I parked the car where there was no information of any no parking whatsoever and they towed away without any announcement, The Sarjapur outer ring road junction is the place when all these vehicle are kept. Many 2 wheelers where there and after a while they took bribe (no receipt) from each and let them go. I argued with them that there is no "No Parking" mentioned anywhere but of course they never heed.
I found that the entire process of placing the vehicle in the busy Sarjapur outer ring road junction creates more traffic jam that even the vehicles parked in no parking area. These police are never in picture to ease a traffic congestion but only to pick up vehicles to receive bribes with their cheap tricks.
This is a Money Making business
The towing vehicles don't dare to tow away BME or fortuner or any other big cars... they show off their heroic acts on ordinary people... but wrong parking is not acceptable

Towing contractors should be trained to handle vehicles carefully. They damaged my scooter and I had to spend 500 rupees to fix it, in addition to paying the fine.
But generally speaking, we should support the traffic police enforcing the rules. Breaking traffic rules has become the norm, rather than the exception.

Where s proper parking in Bangalore .. no proper infrastructure for parking and traffic police s making use of this and doing money .... Some BBMP parking area s very from place we need to park.. Videos s very well edited... In reality it will be very different..

Any public interest lawyers are there one request pls file case against this cruiality and save people by thieves. Also a group of people can join together and we file case against this incident at court.
Well, the main reason behind following such convention is the lack of professional training to these workers and also having lousy redressal system. Lack of professional training makes these workers learn from there seniors on the field, they tell their juniors to be like this and it goes on and on. Not having an effective redressal system makes these contractors unaccountable, if redressal system worked well then these contractors had to pay a huge amount of compensation for the misdeed of their workers, so in turn, they will be more cautious in towing vehicles.
OMG, In the night , we parked in the by lane and returned after dinner to realize that our car was already taken to traffic police station. First off all no parking place in Bangalore and more and more vehicles are coming on the road. It means more people are getting employment in traffic control department. Recently 1800 traffic police are recruited and they are earning morethan 100 crore as penalty. Only god has to save Bangalore.
Sir pls tow old vehicles and broken down vehicles lying on roads and poothpath or if there is any formalities required for doing the same then its ok but sometimes there are vehicles which are on foothpath or road from years which atleast can be removed for everybodys good. Thank you.
Bangalore city management is the worst. First of all there are no parking spaces for most of the business. How permissions to open up shops were given without requiring them to provide parking? Then the traffic cops are running a big money making racket by towing vehicles. They are not interested in de-congesting roads. They tow vehicles from internal roads where there is no traffic at all. Hell with the public service of bangalore...
This is why i own an inline 4 , Bet they wont lift 285kg vehicle into that truck XD

These towing vehicles also have no chill !!! they randomly stop in the middle of the road without any proper indication and block the entire road. These guys should be charged with obstruction of traffic lol !!!

fuck ur self , police they dont announce the vehicle number because in towing they will be contract with private company , accord to the govt 450 tow charge. but police hire cheap private company which takes 100 or 150 rupee per vehicle but gives bill of 450 to police station . so rest of amount 300 rupes will be corruptly took by police . police are doing this cause they get lot of money . i paid 750 twice , i parked the vehicle where there were no parking boards , and i was on spot , they didnt follow any rules and they forcibly took my bike infront of me i couldn't do anything . and moreover india dont have any fucking parking places , there are no parking place zone is everywhere almost .
