Yes it was a lie. She lied about that and got it from the Playboy article of MLK’s interview. It actually goes like this “ I would never forget the moment in Birmingham winner, white policeman was accosting a little girl, the policeman said “what do you want” and the little girl looked him straight in the eye, and said “fee-dom”. She couldn’t even pronounce it correctly! But she knew! It was beautiful”

Tbf, her mother may have crafted the story . Seems more likely her parents would be familiar with a wide range of King material . I get the impression that Kamala doesn't have a messureble depth of knowledge on any subject. She does have a wide range in her styles for her delivery (e.g. y'all drawl, urban street cred, Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable, )& recently she's been working on a Pelosi (pre-lunch) slur.
I used to laugh watching Kamel Toe try to speak intelligently, now it just makes me sick to my stomach.
