Thanks for the mention George. Wish I was there too so we could enjoy the fruit and tour together. Amazing Video. Going to watch it another 1 or 2 times tonight 😊👍🥭 Thanks for another amazing video but wish it was longer 😔 Kim taste the hog plum. She says wow it’s crunchy then run off🏃♀️
Your video 📹 makes me feel very pleasant.. It's sunny down here in Bergedorf.. But the temperatures is fluctuating between 1 c and 0..My fruit tree's has begun flowering 🌸.. Nice video about tropical fruit indeed!
@@RealLifeFruitopia Uncanny though it's very true.. Last time we had heavy snow in hamburg was in the year 2006 & ever since then the winter is very windy and dry.. No white Christmas ever since then. Climate change is after all true..
Good morning George! I know I m out of subject here, but I was watching ( Bill Merril) his channel is (green garden guy) he is in Hawái for the last 6 years and has a video: tasting the giant passionfruit ,I believe you will enjoy! Adiós
Great selection of fruit at this nursery. Question for you George, why do you buy so many from Daley's, when in this nursery you can physically see the fruit trees, pick & choose. The more advanced trees might be more costly but the yrs saved are worth it, smaller trees if struggle or die means more money to replace them
Those trees are at a very good price . Here south Texas people overprice the trees and they’re not even getting the best . I went to a nursery in McAllen Texas selling a star fruit small tree which was about 2 feet tall freshly transferred to a 15 gallon pot for $200 …… I looked at them like they were out of their damn mind and just left . I went to another one here brownsville Texas where I wanted a mayor lemon tree . A teee about maybe 4 feet tall with barley any branching holding some lemons for $350 ….. like wtf I just left to . It’s ridiculous. I get nursery’s want to make money but they have to relax on these prices they’re out of control .
I've asked him that many times. Apparently placing them tightly together helps plus the advanced trees lose only the tips to cold which are pruned off in spring.
You are correct, soursop won't do well here, especially inground. I've lost numerous seedlings, including mountain soursop and every one died whilst protected in a greenhouse! I'm still trying a new one each year using different soil mixes. Although SoCal and Melbourne are in zone 9b, our soggy winters extend for 5 months followed by more damp wet weather in spring, summers are mostly bone dry. This one example is why the whole climate zone chart needs restructuring.
My bad was getting a sterile variety 8 years ago, thinking it would fruit some day but never has. I now have 3 new varieties which are all self pollinating.
The hog plum is not mature to eat. When mature, it will taste better. And, even better when ripe. It will be juicy and sweet. His nursery is in the wrong state :)
Vietnamese love their hog plums green and sour, not sweet, the ones we tested were for the camera. His nursery is in the heart of one of Melbourne's largest Asian communities, some of my favourites like Wax Jambu and Sapodilla were sold.
This is the best place! I love seeing their fruiting banana plants towering over everyone. Sometimes you might forget your in Melbourne!
So true! Also anyone in Melbourne with enough room can create their own tropical paradise.
Thanks!
Great tour guys! You can see that Can loves your visits
Definitely!
This guys setup is amazing
I figure one day when I have driven to Melbourne I will pop into this place
Don't forget the credit card :)

It's overwhelming at this time of year, worth visiting.
U,2 Lovit well done 👏
This is the kind of nursery I like! Good place to plant shop👍🏼👍🏼
My kind of nursery also and I'm super lucky to be only 5 minutes away!

Summer is over here. With temperatures soon below 20C, Australians will be scrambling for long pants and sweatshirts like it's the ice age.

I really need to go here.
You won't be disappointed!
Great video
Thanks for watching
Nice, he needs to open another branch in Sydney!!
That would be cool!
Pretty incredible place
Yep, nice to have ready to fruit mature tropical fruit trees in a snap.
@@RealLifeFruitopia what was the powder that they are adding as fertiliser ?
@@grownbyme-lakeillawarra2993 Chemical fertilizer.

Thanks for the info, I will check it out!
Whatever that fertiliser is that he uses and sells, his trees all look pretty healthy
It's chemical based to get them skyrocketing, then one has the choice to switch to organic when established.

I like to have a wider selection of plants which Daleys offer. As for plant size, I am patient to wait 5-6 years, but not everybody is the same.
Amazing video George I love this
Thanks!
What an amazing nursery 🤩
It really is! Dangerous for some of us.
Definitely dangerous 😂 I’d find it hard to stop buying trees, they look super healthy 😃
Try Daleys Fruit tree nursery in St Alban, the tropical trees are much cheaper
True

I get you.
How an earth does he protect all the cold tender trees like the star apples in Winter 😲😲
I've asked him that many times. Apparently placing them tightly together helps plus the advanced trees lose only the tips to cold which are pruned off in spring.

I'm surprised Melbourne can grow soursop. We can't grow it in SoCal!

Fruitopia definitely needs more dragon fruit.
