That is insanely easy to remove. No wonder there are so many on ebay. If I got one I'd round those screws off. Make it that little bit harder for people to steal it.
After you’ve pulled the trim off around the stereo and clipped the vents back to it, do you fit the cluster back first then the fully complete surround trim. thanks for the video..
Great video. I've recently had my stolen. What is the cable with the pink connector and where does that go to? I think they damaged mine when removing it.
Hiya, one of them is a fibre optic cable which is used to run the map display on the virtual cockpit, this consists of just 2 pins. The other 20pin plug is the main communication & power. We’re based in London, so if you’re nearby feel free to give us a shout if you need any assistance 🙂
@@luxautomotivelondon Thanks. Where does the 20pin plug run to if I need to replace it. They broke the end off mine. My car would need a flat bed to get it to you. I'm Nottingham
@@marcwaddingham wouldn’t be able to replace it unless you replace the whole dashboard wiring loom. It would need to be repaired & replacement cluster programmed to get it all up and running 🙂
Hi, bit of a stupid question, but I was just wondering after removing and fitting it back on again, will it just come on as normal or does it have to be reset or a new code input like removing a radio? I need to remove mine try and treat some surface scraps and afraid in case I take it out and knock everything off 😂
Hi Alan, unfortunately it is not as simple. It will need to be coded to the vehicle along with many other things that will need coding due to being wiped out once the replacement cluster is plugged in.
I have got a random rattling noise coming from the instrument cluster -no matter whether the car is cold / worm or the road surface. I assume that it might be one of these four clips that fasten the instrument cluster (speedometer). Has anyone else got this problem? Golf Mk. 7.5 (2019)
@@nj6484No, but I do not think there is something broken there. It usually does it when there are temperature fluctuations and, even more oddly, during November - January.. Go figure...

side note: be careful removing the hazard warning light, you’ll most likely get a error message on your dash.

You fit the virtual cockpit, then the trim for the VC & the two side trims ( Screen surround & side vent clip into the virtual cockpit
Hi mate did you have to change any wiring for retrofitting it

Going from analogue to digital cluster is it as simple as just swapping them over or do you have to code it to the car. Cheers

Yoo! Do you have a donate button or something? You really helped me out with this one and I'd like to compensate you for it!🙏
No problem, you can just give us a follow on instagram @Lux_Automotive_London 😊

I think there is a broken piece inside your dashboard! Did you found out what it was?
