I just installed the 10-1016 tank on my 2024 Duramax 3500HD. I put 5 gallons of fuel in the tank and followed the priming procedures 6 or 7 times. It cranks but will not start. Does it need more then 5 gallons to prime / start (on level ground)? Is there any chance the fuel lines could have been inadvertently switched and is thereby causing this?
Is there any reprogramming needed to tell the truck it not has a bigger tank? I was told I couldn't install this myself because the truck would need to be reprogrammed to the tank.
My question is, can you reset the fuel gauge on the ECM to read the new fuel tank level and range.. and is this the biggest tank available for a 2024 3500 with a 6 1/2 fool bed?
Thank you especially for the step by step removal. That's the stuff that is hard to see on my back, in my driveway:) I really appreciate it!!
