  • Okay peoples, today's the day.
    Once again, I am going to record the battles individually and merge them together into a marathon run. There will be a cut between each battle for me to do off-screen healing.
    Here is my final team rundown:
    *Rafflesia the Venusaur*: My partner since the very beginning. Even to this day, he remains a staple in my party. Cut being used regularly both in overworld travel and battle, stall strats with Sleep Powder and the draining Leech Seed, and the almighty Frenzy Plant, Rafflesia is a force to be reckoned with when put against anything weak to Grass. The held item will be a Miracle Seed to boost Frenzy Plant's power further to ensure a clean KO.
    *Luna the Nidoking*: The definitive strongarm of the group, Luna is best for swift and clean KOs with powerful, varied physical attacks. Rock Slide for flying types; Megahorn for psychic types; Brick Break for rock, steel, and dark types; and the mighty Earthquake replacing Strength, a powerful, very accurate STAB ground type attack. The held item will be a Quick Claw to allow Luna a chance to swiftly deal with faster opponents than him.
    *Kanetsugu the Alakazam*: An unrivaled Psychic type to give a massive boost to any Kantonian party, Alakazam is a perfect answer to most obstructions in the way. With Psychic and Psybeam for attacks, as well as Reflect and Recover for any stalling needs, he will be a prime playmaker for the enemies I am particularly scared of. The held item will be a Leftovers to help bolster his healing and allow for easier stalling if needed.
    *Myst the Gengar*: The sneaky ghost type to provide ways to play around my opponents, Myst has tricks up his sleeve that make him a valuable asset to my party. With Confuse Ray to potentially disorient the opponent, Thunderbolt for a surprise electric type attack on flying or aquatic enemies, STAB Shadow Ball for great ghost type damage, and the last-ditch Destiny Bond to turn the tables on a hopeless situation, Myst will be a cornerstone for any tricky situation. The held item will be an Amulet Coin so I will earn more money from these battles.
    *Gooie the Vaporeon*: My beloved surfer and wondrous companion, Gooie is an excellent form of support for any situation. With Attract to potentially disarm most opponents, as well as Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, and Surf for major coverage the others lack, Gooie can wash away foes and soak up damage for her allies. The held item will be a Mystic Water to increase Surf's power.
    *Lj the Dragonite*: The mighty dragon-type and pseudo-legendary for Kanto, Lj boasts high stats and powerful attacks to strike down the most powerful of pokemon. With hard-hitting, wide coverage moves of Fly, Waterfall, and Outrage, as well as the almighty Hyper Beam at his disposal, few can withstand his outrageous strength. The held item will be a Silk Scarf to increase Hyper Beam's power further.

    • @darkentity7981
      @darkentity7981  6 месяцев назад +6

      The best place to grind experience in the post-game is on One Island's Kindle Road (Sevii Islands), specifically the black belt/battle girl trainers right outside of the hot springs. The hot springs are a free full heal spot and Vs Seeker usage on these fighting type trainers can lead to some of the highest EXP gain from my experience. I don't remember how long it took me, but I can imagine at least a couple of hours since this is training for the league rematch.

    Thanks for the video! Feeling nostalgic. Just one thing : before Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/SS/HG there wasn’t the physical special split and thus attacks were physical or special according to their type. Concretely Shadow Ball was a physical attack back then, while Gengar’s attack is weak

    • @darkentity7981
      @darkentity7981  2 месяца назад

      While that is sadly true, that's part of why my Vaporeon also knows the move despite not having STAB. Also thankfully Alakazam's defense is *awful* compared to special defense, so that evens it out a bit.

    • @JPS40
      @JPS40 2 месяца назад

      @@darkentity7981 Well you can use it to your advantage as Fire Punch, Ice Punch and Thunder Punch were all special. You can use it on Gengar and Alakazam for instance. Or use shadow ball with Slaking or Snorlax
      Vaporeon's attack is not really high to use Shadow Ball which was a physical attack but I understand that it works on Pokemon with weak defense such as Gengar or Alakazam.
      I still have Fire Red, Leaf Green and Emerald with my GBA and I used to be a beast at the time. I had full EV/IV Pokemon, the only problem I had was with hidden power type

      So this is the Elite 4 rematch, meaning all elite four members have updated teams. To access these rematches, you need to complete the Sevii Islands post-game and gain access to trading with Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. Once you've cleared that, the game considers you to be at the end of post-game and will update the elite 4's teams to what you see in this video, including Bruno's Onix both evolving into Steelix.

      Some minor corrections here. Mewtwo is in *Cerulean* Cave's bottom floor. While Mew was believed to be in Vermilion Harbor, you actually needed a glitch to access it legitimately. In FireRed and LeafGreen, Mewtwo is still in Cerulean Cave, Mew was made available as an event pokemon in a location known as Faraway Island.

      I actually answered a similar question in this same comment section. The best level grinding spots from my experience are either Cycling Road or Kindle Road (on One Island) using the Vs Recorder, depending on the type of the pokemon you're wanting to level grind. You need a lot of patience for it, even if you manage to get a Lucky Egg from one of the Safari Zone Chansey.

    • @darkentity7981
      @darkentity7981  Год назад +8

      After you beat the Cinnabar Gym, you unlock the Sevii Islands. On One Island, there's a hot spring that's difficult to miss. If you use the Vs Seeker you get from the Vermilion PokeCenter, you can rematch the black belts outside of the hot springs over and over (said hot springs are actually a free healing spot). Out of all the methods I could find, this was the most efficient and it still took a long time to train up.

      The best other spot I can think of, which might be better than the One Island black belts are the trainers towards the south end of Sevault Canyon on Seven Island. They use varied pokemon, the two cool trainers near the very south end give some of the highest EXP yield in the game (as far as I can tell), and they're all located very close to the Chansey Dance House, which is a free healing spot. (Note: Seven Island and Sevault Canyon are post-game exclusive. For before the first E4 battle, the One Island blackbelts or the bikers at the north end of Cycling Road would be recommended) Let me know how that works out for you :)

      So in all four of my pokemon playthroughs on this channel, I'm playing with a self-imposed rule where I have to use a different pokemon against each of my opponent's pokemon (so it becomes a true 5v5 or 6v6 and not a potentially one-sided sweep in my favor). I do this to make these battles more interesting and occasionally challenging.
