- Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week. What a crazy few weeks it's been. Fishing hasn't been that great. The weather has really stopped me from going to the water, but hey, a little rain never killed anyone. Even though I have not been able to get a decent edible, I had a great fishing adventure with my newly gifted fishing tackle and was pretty excited to try out my new fishing backpack. You are Truly Blessed with the H frame back pack and angling accessories inside it.
Get various size safety pins to put your swivels and hooks on; you will be glad you did if you bump your open tackle box over, 🙂
They are more suitably managed on safety pins as the hooks are not tangled together.
Put some colour beads on your hook trace line, to hopefully attract fish, ...
You look like a shore angling expert walking with it,! 🙂
"Catch the bigger one's" 🐟
🎣 To keep the loose "tag" end of any line on any holding spools from unwinding; including your sinker rope cord; drill three small holes near the side of spool, about 1cm apart.
Push tag end from inside, out thru one or other side hole, in thru middle hole and out thru other hole.
The line won't unravel off the spool.
On my line spools I drilled two sets of three holes on opposite sides, for my convenience.

I have done same on my old Alvey centre pin side cast reels. 🎣

@StephenStigling if you are looking for a reliable affordable reel, the Adrenalin Bluesurf 9000 reel is a pretty good start depending on how much you can afford, but always check that your handle has been tightened before a session, they tend to come loose. I have been using them for years, and I just replace the gears every now and then, and they are good to go. 🎣🎣

In some areas at some times, a longer rod is better to cast out there, ...
