- Horrortale is one of my favorite au's, so sad to see the event barely holds up.

I actually don't really like how this came out, the editing is kinda weird and the ending felt a bit rushed to me. Sorry if it has strange quality to it, I'm just trying new things to see how they work.
Well, this video did come out very fast. Plus, you were trying you new ✨ Cinamatic View ✨ .
Personally, I like the normal one better, but it might have also been because the event was very dark/blurry/low visibility. As a background, things like that don’t really have much appeal, so it kinda makes whatever words appear less… interesting to see/read. It was Really nice to see that gameplay, but sometimes, I think that it doesn’t work do to unique situations like that.
Too much uniqueness in the background, and no one will read the words. Too little, and it makes what your talking about seem more boring.
Of course, others might have a different opinion on this. This is just what I think happened to make it have a bit of a “strange” quality to it. It might also be why it looks rushed to you.
i agree with every issue addressed lol, as a developer of ufs and manager of the concepts team im not sure how this turned out this bad, as far as im aware i wasnt in the know about the horror event at all when it was being developed, im certain future events will be much more interesting and NOT based on rng, sorry for the dissapointment.
Rng should always be limited or left out during events due to the fact that an event is not around forever by definition, if you are just too unlucky, you might miss out on the entire rest of part one (even if it's like two minutes more).
It's been 4 months, and it's still not out at this point. I am convinced the devs are purposely waiting this out, hoping many people will buy the gamepass to play Horrortale Sans. And even then, if the Horrortale Part 2 does come out, I doubt it will make up how terrible part 1 was and the very long wait time.
UFS' event being worse than a UJD event surprises me honestly
UFS's event feels like it was literally put together in five minutes before the game dropped.

Agree, the most stupid part are the grind and the god forsaken maze. I hate this maze, it took me like half a hour to beat it, atleast felt so. Its so strange that i cant comprehend it
If it was taken from the comic I could sorta understand but this just seems like laziness.
They shouldve added at least one more section to part one, like a mini fight with horror sans or another puzzle or smth. so that the first time people join the game and play the event it was fun and not just gringing for eyes

Well said. I honestly believe that the event should have been released as a full complete package after that game's release. As you said it feels so unfinished and underwhelming, especially considering the amount of time it takes to get the items. I would've just made each item have a corresponding quest that you need to complete to obtain it, rather than stupid rng. The main part of the event is so lazily made and dissapointing as well, as it's supposed to be faithful to the original horrortale. The maze could've been replaced by a set of puzzles from the original comic that could require skill and careful thinking which honestly seems much more fun. Something else I don't like about the event is san's forced inclusion. As you said, the head dog sequence is poor. But sans just suddenly jumpscaring you and wanting to fight after ONE thirty-second maze is just bs and the worst part about the event imo. It gives me 'sans angry phase 2' vibes. They could've had a build up to the sans encounter, with sans getting hungrier and hungrier as each puzzle progresses and after the final puzzle, just as you're about to leave, sans stops you and boom there's your funny skeleton fight, just written better so it doesn't feel forced. If they want to make part 2 better, I suggest that they make the sans part more of a chase/survival sequence rather than a full blown fight. It would be much more scarier and faithful to horrortale.

I can totally agree with the poor representation of sans, I just reread the comic (for this video specifically) while I was creating it and saw the pretty strange puzzles, the freebie mechanic could be loads of fun incase you think the challenge will be too hard. But yeah, part one is definitely one of the weakest events we've gotten so far from any svc really.
Imagine you grinding all the way to lv 15 just for papyrus to tell you to do even more grinding then when you come back you just do a ez puzzle some suggestions I have is like atleast put a intresting introduction when you enter the event like maybe meet flowey or learn the back story of horror tale instead of just immediately going to paps and maybe like in the game make more options for you to do other then go to paps or sans like going to toriel or add a cutscene of you trying the spegettie as for the puzzle maybe add at least 3 if this is the last we will hear from papyrus cause apparently in the 2nd part it’s supposed to be all about horror sans chasing you speaking of the 2nd part it’s looking pretty bright to me good jump scares and good chasing and apparently one of the awards for part 2 was confirmed to be horror sans not sure if there is more tho

This event is the reason I was demotivated to play UFS.
I just feel like horrortale isn't respected enough it's so misunderstood and underrated...(horrortale is my favorite au which makes me sad to see this)

Well part one at least, we just gotta hope part two is good, cause if not then 3DBB and bonewalker will remain as the best event in SVC games lol.

Tbf Horror using an axe in combat isn't comic accurate either (at least in the moment) which the game has Horror using.

@@metal42 I was gonna comment on that in the video but horror isn't really a part of the event at all, I wish he had moves like reverse telekinesis. To be fair though we've only seen him use bones and his hands up to this point (not including the one maybe two scenes where he uses a CLEAVER by the way, not an axe).

Anyways, on a partially related topic. Something I’ve always wondered, is what if you made an event permeant? I know an event is something that is limited time and all, so I guess you would call it a DLC. Something I’ve though would be very interesting would be if a game did this. They made an event, then when it was over, still made it accessible with all the rewards, but you had to do something more to get to it. Or, if you didn’t want to do that, you just make the event reoccur every some often, like those Christmas updates.
Again, it’s a bit unrelated, but I always just wondered about it. Would it better to do that, then to scrap the entire that the devs works so hard to make for a limits number of individuals to enjoy?
This honestly should've never been an event in the first place and should've come out as a sort of semi-story mode. Perhaps one where the player travels from universe to universe pacifying sans's to join their team, letting you unlock more and more rewards and characters as you progress. Would also be the first good story mode we've gotten in any SvC game ever, so that would be a first.

Now… if only there were a way to actually use this information and have it put into one of the SvC games. After all, having too many do it will just be repetitive.

@@pcsans8210 It’s ok. Honestly, if I had the resources, or capabilities to do one, I’ve had an SvC Concept sitting in my closet for 6 years now. Moved on to other, more realistic things for now, but still.
Anyways, if you want to do it, I say go for it! I mean, it certainly can’t hurt to try, right?
Arguably, I'm fine with the text being just the font without the dialog box, though the large sprite gives a fair bit of a feel for the video compared to just having the text, though some segments could probably just be text without the sprite, similar to here.
I think the big guy showing up for none gameplay sections could be good, but for those gameplay sections the text style would be better.
wow im in the video! anyway about the event rn it seems kinda uhhh boring like 90% is on multiplayer and you just grind for 6 minutes or 1 day even its just grindy and boring like theres so much potential for a horrortale event like a "snowsand" puzzle + rn ufs gameplay is kinda boring you just do the same stuff all the time aka just "use the same everything then grind until next thing until no more" i hope that part 2 can be better than p1 and hopefully they change the way to do p1 after part 2 comes out (they probably wont tho)
Well of course you got a cameo, i needed any numbers and someone gave em' to me. But yeah, part two has gotta come in clutch to save this disappointment we got.

Also, I agree with what you said. The fact that you have to go into multiplayer for a majority of the event is honestly just lazy. I understand why, but I think that they need to understand that no one wants to play your game for RNG unless that is the specific reason why you even joined the game. A fighting game like this, should have you do one of Papyrus’s puzzles, answer some simple trivia about the game that normal players would know, fight an NPC, or maybe just tone down on the RNG and tell people how to do things.
UFS is a game that I haven’t been having the best experience with for 3 reasons:
1. I can’t see any of the visuals, even after following there instructions on how to turn them on. This means I’m only playing the game seeing the models, areas, screen effects, and attack effects. I can’t see bones, nor blaster beams. I can only see the indicators, the Gaster blasters, and the lazers.
2. The game expects you to know everything about it what your supposed to do in it.
3. Well, there is no 3. I made this one up.
i didn’t do the event yet but it would be cool if horror sans was in the maze just to give a little of tension because when i saw the jumpscare sneakpeak and then the maze on vids i was thinking: oh no horror sans is there
I think the maze itself is pretty useless, definitely should've been changed up.

Actually this event is the worst possible it could be. having to do a repeated act to get a rng item is just the worst thing as 4 hours is like pretty fine compared to what unlucky people have to do, considering you do all that just for a simple maze with one "jumpscare" and a dialogue. Really Boring event considering you have to bear SHIT gameplay + Worst type of grinding for that there's no accomplishment feeling of overcoming a difficulty just the "wow I'm lucky" or "wow I'm unlucky" feeling and a skin(NOBODY GIVES A FUCK!!!!!), healing item too(cool another lazy thing). Other than that great video from pc sans again and I do like the editing. Would you happen to have any discord server?

Also yeah, this is definitely one of the worse events (even if it's just part one) to ever come to SvC games.

I hate any type of rng events because you just need to get lucky or you're just not getting the reward but like if its a normal rng thing and it stays (not talking about horror event) im fine with that but if ypu put a timer on rng it just gets so bad

I think you can just NOT grind for the event and get all the ingredients. Just play the game normally and after some time you will get all the things you need.
Some people (myself) might not want to play the game for long periods of time, the fact it's a event makes it a limited time only which encourages people to finish the event before it's gone. The problem with that is that grinding out the items takes WAY longer then it should, aside from the grind though there are still plenty of other issues with the horror event that extend farther then just "grinding bad". If you get what I mean.
If anybody is wondering, there is gonna be a part 2 to the event with a horror sans fight, so don't worry.
Honestly unless part two is a lot longer than part one having the fight with sans be in part two would probably suck, like really bad.

The event being locked behind level 15 was the worst part(I’m not even level 5)
part 2 has a bossfight the developers and testers say its fairly difficult, moreso than other event bossfights thus being the reason for lv 15 requirement

@@ii_brqkenheqrts6044 Having LV up to twenty could give different health amounts for the game, encouraging players to fight to get better as well as raise their health so that the event is also easier in that way.
I had 3 ketchup before I got a single eye.
I only managed to get two before i got all my eyes.

Your head is a TV, right? why not make zoom effect into your head?
Or even an animation of you holding the viewer (camera), and then looking up, and then on the camera, then zoom, and thats it, idk

Pretty painful stuff, I spent a day or two trying to get mine (they were broken up and took about four hours total to get them all).
It took me till APRIL to get it due to rng

The real crime is Horrortale being an event.
I don't mind it being an event, if it has cool representation then the event could come out pretty cool, I do think when it ends though there should definitely be a place to revisit the event and play it again, all the way through.
I can't even finish the event at the moment since I'm xbox and its not optimized properly yet.
