Red Rocks Route Railroad-Garden Railway Tour

The Red Rocks Route Railroad is still under construction, Two tracks are operational around the perimeter of the back yard. The route was constructed around an already completed backyard landscape. The landscape included a 1,000 gallon pond and waterfall with resident Koi and goldfish. A 10 foot steel truss bridge spans the pond. A five foot tunnel was constructed through an existing berm with mature trees above. Track 1 is for speed and large trains with sweeping curves and a tunnel (20 amp of DC Power). Track 2 is a slower route winding with steep grades and an 8 foot horseshoe curve, with bridges one over the Pond (15 amps of DC Power). Siding construction continues with plans for additional lines and a storage building in late 2014 or 2015. The Red Rocks Route Railroad can run DC, Battery, or live steam.

How large is this railroad going to be when, it is finished?

Most of these are never finished they are generally a work in progress as new spurs, buildings and rolling stock are acquired new additions are always in the planning stages

What are the gauges?

G gauge the mainline diesels might be 1:29 and the narrow gauge are mostly around 1:20
