Nothing against FL Studio, but I try to educate everyone into using loops... why not try Reaper? With Reaper you can just drag ANYTHING in from the Media Explorer... have Tempo Match set to "On"... and everything fits, automatically. When you change the main project tempo, the loop stretches accordingly. There's no math to think about, nothing extra to do. I never understood why FL Studio makes this so complicated. Great tutorial, though!
Additional thoughts: You can hold ALT to drag the loop wider or narrower, but it never "snaps" to the tempo grid. Why not? Shouldn't it allow you to stretch and snap? Again, Reaper does this with ease.
Only mentioning all of this because I have a few students in FL Studio who love using loops... and there's no easier way to build a song with a few loops than with Reaper.
I should note that I'm still trying to give FL Studio a fair chance....... but I keep wondering why everything is at least 1 or 2 steps.... haha. :)
