Have just come across this video and I am truly pleased to hear first hand accounts of those who knew Rinpoche and how they now perceive his enormous contribution to western thought. Without ever having met him,he has influenced the last fifty years of my life.

I find that the discussion between chogyam trungpa and jiddu krishnamuti on meditation a very insightful talk on the practice. I mean sure his drinking and orgies are not in line with morality. but most of the teachings i heard from chogyam trungpa are without fault.

That’s the same excuse the Japanese Zen sect used to aid train the Japanese army to massacre millions of innocent Chinese civilians during the second world war. Have you read Brian Victoria Zen at War?! It's a bullshit excuse. The victims of those acts would respond otherwise. Trumpa is a prime example of a realized person who hasn't embodied non-harming action. Justifying abuse as emptiness. He leaves a legacy of abusers running his organization which culminated in scandals until the present.

Kudos to some old friends, Ms Lief, Ms Gimian, Mr Lief and Mr Rome. I think if I live another 10 or 12 years I shale work on production, presentation and clarity. For me it was wonderful, but for how many people, do we wonder , were lost from the word "yana". I have no criticism of these friends
but feel we need some help here for the sake of others.
For my own selfish wants and needs, how charming. Gary W.

Sad and a little daunting that only 98 people have watched this video (2013 to now October 2021 ) whoever gave it thumbs down ,may Trungpa Rinpoches words percolate in their mindstreams and cause a little itch !

I find it hard to reconcile Trumpa’s teachings with his outlandish personal lifestyle. The behaviours he manifested did not aligned with his teachings, crazy wisdom was just an excuse to break every precepts laid down during the time of the Buddha with no accountability and repentance to change it. Trumpa may have been brilliant with a marvellous IQ and education, but he’s definitely not a saintly person in his personal lifestyle, breaking all the precepts continually until he died and done much damage to many women and men in his organization.

Hi Ngawang Tender, from the look of the cover and the context, I think the book title is "The Path of Individual Liberation: The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, Volume One".

    Umm...Ummm....umm.
Was he a fully realized being ?
See Tilopa was ,and the difference IS stark in Nisagadatta s famous phrase all knowledge is ignorance,at some point the realization that fragmented piecing together conventional knowledge isn't correct it id just an approach how to swim or how do beans climb yes they may need canes but in reality they will attach znd climb anything.
