He was chosen as a Llama when he was two or something. He visited a mountain range in Tibet, said to his helpers, "Dig here." They found ancient notes carved in rock that told where to find other ancient holy artifacts, which were found. Complaining about his use of alcohol is absurd, he CANNOT be examined and judged based on the same criteria as ordinary humans.

Interesting take on "literacy" and "literal". At first I thought he mixed his words but . . .no, he had a very good idea there although the "literal" hairsplitters in the audience may have missed it. He's a genius. And just realize how different his native languages are from English -- developing that sort of very refined fluency in a language with such different symbols just makes him a rare observer. And it's a peep hole into different ways of looking.

He was so far-sighted. He knew exactly what he was doing when he appointed the Regent. It was all about the transformation of Buddhism for Westerners. Tibetan Buddhism falling apart. It was about returning to a Shambala Consciousness. I was at the NYC Shambala Center for a visit, when I heard that the Sakyong bowed to the Tibetan Buddhist 5 Families or at least Kagyu Leaders. He joined Shambala back under the Umbrella of Tibetan Buddhism. For Evolution of Humanity, it had to be vice versa. He didn't have the courage to put Shambala Teachings in its rightful eclectic place of above & BEFORE religions. Sufism is also Shambala. That's the connection Gurdjieff made with the configuration of Sarmung from Surmang. With the end of the Piscean Era, comes the end of religiosity & the return to True Spirituality. The Aquarian Water Bearer emptying the Vessel (the Body & Mind) of kleshas. The end of the Tent of Abrahan's vice-grip on the Throat of HU-manity. The poleshift is happening NOW. Its been gradual, gradual, then energy reaches its tipping point. (The Yin/ Yang Symbol says it all). The Hindu's call it the end of the Kali Yuga, in which we have degenerated to speech being a primary method of communication. In my book:SoL: EEEHS, i explain that we are shifting back from a Day (12,500 years) of expanding/electric/masculine/thinking & doing/ protector & provider-turned- competitor & conqueror to a Night of attracting/magnetic/feminine/ beingness/nurturing wisdom. The Outbreath is over. Breathe In Now.

while they have as very different styles, I enjoyed where they had brief.moments of connection... understanding.
Some people skillfull means is intellectual discourse, draws some and fascinated them, others say very little.
I know no context,. if Trungpa was drunk, but I know those that take those paths: draw in to realization of 'no observer' too.
Love both of these guys, what a nice clip of them together .

One of the most dynamic spiritual teachers in the history of forever! I like his teachings of spiritual materalism....he basically says...we re not what we strive to be....even as "spiritual people"..we are not the totality of our actions or karma or thoughts.

This being smashes all expectations. God was sitting around one day, decided to call the devil on the phone. "Hey Satan, I've decided to start a new religion down here on Earth." Satan replies, "Great, I'll organize it for you." Then along comes Trungpa and blows the whole thing to smithereens.

He could choose to be drunk or not. Think with Mirror-like Wisdom in any state. We all are like radio transmitters & receivers. We respond to vibrations emitted from a Teacher or not. I feel he volunteered to specificallyTeach people who suffer in alcoholic delusion. You have to be one to Teach in that modality.
