I would seriously like to hear these guys in a proper studio with maybe a little coaching from a producer. This could be a really fun new take on metal. It's hard to imagine the impact from a recording like this.
Do not think you make too many of these! I can't wait til the next one every time! Love these, and you're critiques are spot on. Scared to offer up my band LOL.
Like in blackened how it sounds like a completely different song at the end even tho the guitarists aree basically playing the same riff as the main riff.
I think its more like you're only as good as your weakest link. You can have the best drummer in the world, but if you have a shitty bassist he will pretty much ruin the whole rhythm section.
You mean when the lady jumps on a chair, after seeing Jerry? 😆 so random, but applicable. She would always beat the hell outta Tom, and kick him out the house, with Jerry waving.
I actually know the bass player, they live in my hometown and he's a super great dude. their still going I believe! always slightly reminded me of venom
"The glue holding them together isn't quite dry yet" You hit the nail on the head, Mike. I always had this feeling about local bands but couldn't put it into words that didn't come off as rude in some capacity.
Maybe they pretended to be in a band and going to rehearsal once a week but what they were really doing was hanging out and have some beer. But one day their wives wanted some proof and so they had to record something.
I think this is 4 dude’s that used to hit all the concerts and bars back in their day, maybe some of them played in a bar band. And now they are 40 something ‘s that get together and remember the time’s and jam out just for the fun of it and once in a while come up with something that makes them feel good.! No stress just trying to play for the good feeling . Like this is what they do on their Saturday nights. Now that they are older , got kids about out of the house and been slugging away at a job for the last 20 years. And they are the crazy uncle’s that jam instead of hitting the bar’s looking to do crazy stuff.!!! 👍🏻😜
@TheArtofGuitar This is awesome! Loving this! That is a pretty badass riff they have there, I totally agree it sounds like Hashpipe, which I will probably have in my head today now haha. Have definitely seen several bands like this play in pubs/ bars over the years, always a fun time, just to hear some live music.
That sliding techique from the intro sounds best on the wound strings, the grinding divebomb in the background from sliding the pick is somewhat missing when you do it on the unwound ones.
Youre absolutely right. I think one of the most important things at least while on stage, is confidence. Even if you suck you gotta be in to it. If you dont believe it the crowd wont believe it.
You can not make enough of these FTB vids. As a solo acoustic performer, I have no one to fall back on if I make a mistake, so I try to learn as much as I can to avoid those situations. You're videos are helpful and use your advice when I play live. Keep it up!
I really like that you offer constructive criticism. Better than what a lot of people do on amateur band videos where the comments are you suck. To me I wish you were available when I was playing. It is better to get advice then trying to make changes from within. From within always seems to evoke push back. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
I saw guitarist Rick Derringer use the "over the neck/downslide fret hammer ons" back in the 80's. I think EVH did it at the US Festival too. The bassist looks like the 70's version of (the great) Doobies/Steely Dan guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.
You have a great concept for a youtube channel here, and you are very funny. You avoid sarcasm, (which is good) but your analysis can be quite funny in an honest, insightful commentary kind of way. I am a sub.
Just a heads up, the lineup has changed since this video. The singer is now the drummer and they have a new singer. I've exchanged the odd email with them. Good dudes just having some fun. Oh, also you should use and link to the original video on their page, not to a video by some disrespectful prick trying to shame them.
I just love these videos Ho no... there aren't too many Your advices are good And your approach is spot on I love the way you share these with an education puspose .. You are doing a marvellous job here.
What's there to fix? These guys are on another level. Bringing back the (very) rough edges of rock-n-roll in this world of perfect playing, over pro-tooled and processed music! No need for meaningful lyrics, you just need words to fit the beat! 🤣
I loved this. Glad I found your channel. I think RavenHeart put a spell on me. I keep on hearing that guitar riff over & over in my head. Was walking through the kitchen & I heard it again. I'm beyond intrigued how you found this video. Do you think they're still together? I said that with an upper inflection at the end. Ha., You were actually very kind & helpful. Would love to see one of the band members in the comments. If they show up, you've got to pin it. Good job...
The sound needs more sustain. Since the vocalist isn't capable of filling the awkward gaps by long screams and such, a second guitarist just powerchording the hell of out the song would help a lot. * On a second listen, I realised that the song sounds quite like Kreator's "Non-Conformist." Mille Petrozza has a fantastic natural sustain so the song sounds way fuller (also, studio magic).
Oh boy, Outcast ... That's one of the worst albums I've ever bought. To be fair, many mainstream metal bands were in a massive crisis during that time after the gigantic grunge wave had swept over them, then came the industrial train. But an album chock-full of absolutely abysmal riffs like Outcast was still an exception.
For some reason the way the guy sings reminds me of the old game Grand Theft Auto 2 that had a song with a lyrical line "Taxi drivers must DIIIIEEEE!!!"
William Murderface solo project Inside the album sleeve, it reads “Courtney Love offered me $50,000 to wet Kurt Cobain” These are the vibes I’m getting
All throughout the video I've been having that image of Quorton recording Raise the dead with the rest of Bathory for a 45 rpm vinyl release after a night spent binging, then selecting 33 rpm on the player.
On behalf of crazy uncles everywhere I'd like to say that some of us are actually good musicians. The one and only thing that these guys have going for them is that they are writing original material. A crazy uncle cover band is not really crazy, they're just uncles.
Those dudes f'n rock! Love it. That riff kinda reminds me of the riff from "I Am The Law" by Anthrax. Hopefully these guys see this and respond. Would love to know more about them. Also "wash your back?" You don't think "watch your back" makes more sense?😉
Dunc (Duncan, not Ducan!) and Sean are old pals of mine. Nice lads, and I think it's cool that they're still putting themselves out there.
Love that you keep calling him monster lewis so casually
I don't even know if Monster has a double bass pedal.
Monster Lewis is his legal name. Dude does his research.
@@michaelmillican5592 monster Lewis needs no such thing… he hits the bass pedal and the drum sounds twice. Only when he wants it too though.
Some kits make it hard to smoosh the toms together. I have a pearl kit like that.
We all have the right to our own identity. Just respect. 🙂 \m/
The lead singers name is Duncan Barker just to clarify.
The fact that they misspelled the singer's name just makes it even MORE hilarious. hehe.
not "Dyou-c'n"? you know, rhyming with 'pukin'"
Bunkan Darker
I unironically can't get this out of my head. All day I've been singing to myself "hell on earth, that's what it's like"
Walking on the blade of LIFE!
Wash your back.

I would seriously like to hear these guys in a proper studio with maybe a little coaching from a producer. This could be a really fun new take on metal. It's hard to imagine the impact from a recording like this.
After you do the "ONE TWO FUCK YOU!" you can still do the "FUCK YOU THREE FOUR!"
FUCK ME THREE FOUR
Hahahaha then, ONE FUCK THREE YOU, and on and on, really explore the space and have fun with it
It has to rhyme though, how about "YOU WHORE THREE FOUR!". Or just replace all of them with something like "FUN POO PEE FLOOR!"
Why NOT?
Don't forget the "ONE TWO THREE FUCK!"
Do not think you make too many of these! I can't wait til the next one every time! Love these, and you're critiques are spot on. Scared to offer up my band LOL.
I'm confused by the "Rhythm Guitarist" title. Where is his guitar?
He's a master at rhythm air guitar. He had a tummy ache this recording so he skipped it.
Probably only comes out on songs that need it.
Shows that the old adage "you're only as good as your drummer" is true.
Like in blackened how it sounds like a completely different song at the end even tho the guitarists aree basically playing the same riff as the main riff.
@@prometheustv6558 Yea but that’s true for any song where the drummer switches things up
Yes it is kinda true. Mike proved it here. When Mike dubbed his drum parts into the song I noticed a big improvement.
@@prometheustv6558 That's only one of the many reasons why Lars is one of the greatest drummers and I don't need to be a drummer to know this.
I think its more like you're only as good as your weakest link. You can have the best drummer in the world, but if you have a shitty bassist he will pretty much ruin the whole rhythm section.
Dude, I actually want to hear your full version of it. That tiny bit you did sounded great!
Lead singers got that Tom and jerry scream
LMAO
You mean when the lady jumps on a chair, after seeing Jerry? 😆 so random, but applicable.
She would always beat the hell outta Tom, and kick him out the house, with Jerry waving.
😂😂😂
ROFL 😂
I just read this comment as the guy sang ATTAAACK and now I'm crying. Fuck me, what an astute observation.
When you re-recorded parts of the song it caught me by surprise. The song recorded properly actually sounds pretty damn catchy.
This series is the best ❤
It really is. He does it with taste and respect. And it's very good entertainment.
They're still together. Duncan plays drums for them, now, and they added a new singer. They do have better gear now.
Ducan*
@@yledbetter10rob42 RUclips says: "Translate to: English". So I click on it. And then it says "Pregnant*".
Uhh... thank you, youtube?

This Metal band has some serious "garage Punk band" vibes! The way the singer danced during the solo just killed me!
You do such a great job constructively critiquing without coming across as mean.
I know these guys ,ants is lovely , bass is his life , he learned to play bass to join band
I know Ants as well, cracking lad.
They all seem really great guys
Good to see a fellow bassist getting the recognition he deserves 👏🏻
Maybe they pretended to be in a band and going to rehearsal once a week but what they were really doing was hanging out and have some beer. But one day their wives wanted some proof and so they had to record something.
😂😂 love this.
The riff kept reminding me of when Doug learned to play guitar in King of Queens lol. "Doug and Carrie, Doug and Carrie, Doug and Carrie"
