    Recently got a fan which was even slower than yours on high. Replaced the capacitor and it works well again.

      I guess that's why hvac technicians have such a bad reputation

    Yeah bad capacitor can cause a motor to go out of sync making it buzz. Some fans do change start/run capacitors to change speeds instead of using separate capacitor for speeds, and those can buzz on medium and low. I have a Hampton Bay Rockport that's like that and when I wired it to remote, remote medium and low are quieter than factory medium and low.

    If the capacitor is fine but still slow then ?

    • @ApartmentMaintenance
      @ApartmentMaintenance  3 года назад

      Probably the motor then, but hard for me to say for sure without seeing it in person. Did you test the capacitor? Thanks for watching Ahmed & Subscribe to the channel 👍

      @@ApartmentMaintenance Two common ways fan slow down are capacitor going bad, and blade pitch being steeper.

    My ceiling fan turns on and off but only on the low setting. Would that be the same issue?

    • @ApartmentMaintenance
      @ApartmentMaintenance  3 года назад

      Sorry for the delay on my response. I would say most likely since it sounds like it's doing the same exact thing, but it's hard to say without seeing it in person to diagnose it. Thanks for watching Santi & Subscribe to the channel 👍
