- Let's take a look at the damaged Torque Amplifier Ramp and Roller out of this IH Farmall 350. Installing the ramp and roller isn't too big of a deal. Everything should go pretty good as long as the TA housing seals are installed correctly and not damaged.
With the TA direct drive clutch and main engine clutch being worthy of many years of service, there isn't a good enough reason to replace them on this tractor.
This TA Ramp and Roller installation process is similar to an IH 300, 400, 450, 460, 560, 656, 666, 686, or any IH with a mechanical TA.
The clutch and TA adjustment can differ on different models, I do my best to explain how I adjust this one.

This is GREAT video, I wish you would describe what you were doing when you were splitting the tractor. I really enjoyed your description when you were talking putting the torque amplifier back together and telling us what you were doing👍👍👍👍I’ve seen people put torque amplifier in and take them out, but your video showed me how the torque amplifier works. Thank You.
Hope you do more videos on fixing the 06, 26,56, 66 and 86 models and really enjoyed your commentary on what you were doing and explaining 👍👍👍
That Hippy has a Nice 350,
Not to mention a Great Mechanic working on it!
Thanks and Happy New Year 👍🏻
Nice job, love those old girls. I have a 300 and it's my favorite baling tractor.
Pretty cool. Thanks for the inside look. Nicely done. Looks like it works from Me-no-monie.
Very nice! First time I've seen one apart. T/A's are strong in my 400 and 450 so probably won't have to tear into them but you never know what might come home...
Looks good, nice to keep the old iron running
Thanks for explaining the workings of it.
good show!
Good video and explanation. Nice that you list all the parts used as well.
Thanks for sharing
Great video! What size spanner socket did you use?
Residents from 350 Farmall Avenue.
Great video!! Thanks!
superb vid. at time 10.28 u use a socket (spanner ?) what & where can i buy it ? thanks. also could u do a hydrostatic transmission rebuild.
?4u some of the 656,544 use the torque lever as a reverse. So you have 5 forward and 5 reverse. what is changed inside? Another good video thanks
Many sprag rollers get worn flat from dirty or no oil and using TA as a brake going down hills .
Otherwise they last .
Agreed about the dirty and lack oil flat spotting the rollers, but you can't use these TA's as a brake, they'll free wheel in low range.
@renevreeken my 300 did lock downhill for some reason..
I was told that can back drag rollers causes flat spots on them ruining their ability to lock under load.
Not sure
@renevreeken MF multi power had same problems.
@@Nudnik1 Your 300 sounds weird, Both my Farmall 350 and my Massey 265 free wheel in low range, need them in high for engine braking. Like I know for the larger Farmalls, like the 706 etc. it's not good to use the TA for braking, and that will damage them.
@renevreeken yes.
We have huge hills here in Virginia mountain. Hay machines we put electric brakes on them to stop.
Where is your brass hammer ??
Interesting system to see inside of , thanks
I am curious, does the T/A compartment share the same oil as the transmission & rear end.
From the exterior they look as though they are seperate compartments.
Are there any open passages allowing both compartments to share oil ?
Yes it does. Oil travels from the rearend, through the housing the PTO shaft goes through, all the way to the front drive gear housing compartment.
Good day from Ontario So that ramp & roller is that consideded the sprag clutch?
Yes it is
Where do you live?
