The minute I started watching this I thought it was a sideline for Maynard from Tool. The guy sounds insanely similar! Great video. I need to repair neck pocket cracks on a black Epiphone SG special so my search brought me here.

Because our heads, and and some wooden pianos, also get dings and cracks in them, musikdoktor; and you were attracted because you're a doctor, bud.

Great demo! I have a Tele butterscotch (poly) that has larger areas where the finish has come off down to the wood. I don't have the chips. Can this product be used, and how would I try and match the color? Thanks!

Same here. My Squier classic vibe butterscotch tele has some bad dings in the finish.

Incredible!!! I have a bass with a gloss finish that has a few hairline cracks I'd like to fix. Should I be concerned that the sanding will mess up the finish around the hairline cracks or will adding more of the process fix that as well?

Ditto on this question for me with hairline cracks on a Squier Jaguar Modified Bass. These cracks are so narrow that wondering if the Fill with actually penetrate and fill it.

What products would be needed if say a nail made a one inch scratch through the poly and into the finish, but did not damage the wood? Just dye for the bare wood and Fill &Finish?

Great repair, not expecting a response but if possible, what did you use on buffing pad? Cheers.

Uh, 320's still coarse for finish work like that. When I repair boat varnish repairs, last stop is 400. Gleaming coating, new or renew or repair, is all about the prep work. The work area should have been cleaned up with a tack rag, or isopropyl alcohol (not acetone or MEK!). As it is, there were at least three voids where sanding dust showed through. Prep, prep, prep! Coating is the easy part.
Nonetheless, the product is just what I need to repair finish cracking on an Ovation.

Not that important? It is important to get the wood back as perfectly as possible.
