I love the flying videos because as an American I get to see portions of the UK from the air. I also like it when you and Mark or Ben or Paul are just joking around amongst yourselves. It’s morning here and I haven’t had breakfast yet, so all this tea, cakes and pie video is making me hungry so I’m off to breakfast. Also, I’m glad the faux brick wall still appears.
Hi Tom, I saw your machine being built at Flylight yesterday....woohoo. I hope you had a good breakfast. I hope to be able to share the southwest of England again soon.
My favourite bits of this vid: Paul’s comment “You CLEARLY don’t mind looking like an idiot”. Flying over Edinburgh airfield with the big boys taking off. And when Bens medication was obviously wearing off and he rolled past in his trike yelling. Did you get him back to the secure unit in time?
So enjoyable watching you and friends flying. Always thought I wouldn’t like the ultra lite flying because I so enjoy flying next to friends. But now I see that this is just as nice
A great look back at '23 Giles; I loved your content and think I caught everything you posted on YT. The most enjoyable for me was the Stoke Golding video. Until I moved, that was my closest airstrip, and I loved visiting and chatting with Tim, the owner. I even took a few microlight lessons in the past. That vid was also where you introduced us to Paul, who I've followed since. Such an engaging chap and the great chemistry between you made for an excellent video! Now looking forward to your vids this coming year, Sir 👍🏻
Hi Kev, I hope it's not too much of a tease seeing all the flying in this part of the country. I hope I can get some serious flying now. It will be NiNE tastic along with Peabee flying in the south west.
@@GolfFoxtrot22@GolfFoxtrot22 It has been a bit of a tease so far, as when I've booked an overnighter to come flying from Tatenhill, the weather has turned out pants every time so far! 😬 I hope that will change and I'll be able to get some flying in soon. You have the best idea... a foot in two different counties! 👌🏻
Nice one Giles. Your Balado trip was my fav from 2023. Has inspired me to explore northern territories. I only managed 43.5 hrs last year. I must try harder! 🙂
Great review Giles. I love the video of your first flight with the nine wing. The look of amazement and sheer joy is unforgettable. Here’s to lots of great flying in 2024 😊
Fantastic! With you on the rubbish weather for the end of 2023 - and the start of 2024! So gutted I missed you when you were at East Fortune, and I'll vote for the whole Low and Slow series for my favourite video(s!), not just because you came to my wee patch, but mainly because it shows just what these single seat aircraft can do!
Hi Mike, it was nice to see your neck of the world and you are so luck to have some amazing areas to fly to and around. SSDR is a bit of a passion and has a growing following. Are you heading down south this year?
@@GolfFoxtrot22 Certainly hope to get down south this year mate! At minimum the East Rufford fly-in is on the cards - but we'll have to see what the weather allows!
Hi Doug, it's all smoke and mirrors ;), but I have made some significant life choices to be able to do the things that I do. Is it flyable over there yet?
@@GolfFoxtrot22 LOL, smoke & mirrors. I get it, all about priorities and choices. Nonetheless I'm still envious. Having someone to chase is helpful for my motivation and goals. No, weather still stinks. Snow on the ground, freezing fog this morning. Yuck.
Great recap Giles. For me the Flamping trip with Paul and Paul's vlog on the same trip was the video that prompted me to book my first lesson. 5 hrs in and I'm loving my NPPL journey 👍 hears to 2024
@GolfFoxtrot22 St Michael's. I was lucky with the weather and work are being flexible which helps. Hopefully we may get a break in the weather soon. As long as my brain can keep up, I'm taking every opportunity I can to get in the air 😃
A good summary of an interesting year you had. Highlights of the video was the Zone Transit of Edinburgh, I would've been tongue tied! My personal highlights of 2023 were my 2 solo flights, March in my PB and October in the Quantum, followed by my only land out to-date, during the Summer. All felt like real milestones. Hoping 2024 sorts itself out weather wise and offers plenty of good flying?
I think you selected 5 good videos from you channel. I don't think I can pick out any particular video from my channel, I enjoyed all the flights and am ammazed by the progress on the Youngster.
Great video Giles, Edinburgh airport was the tops for me but the whole year was a delight to watch and to share your journey was a privilege. Looking forward to more of the Nine in 24. - How about around Glastonbury Tor and Glastonbury Zodiac. ie does it actually exist? Anyway all the best for another great year.
Hi Barry, Thank you for following my/our crazy adventures. Now I have my PeaBee back home to I'll have to fly around the TOR etc. Lets see what 2024 brings.
Hi Giles. Last year was a great one for you. Lots of interesting things and your instructors course. Let me know if you are flying into St Michaels again this year. I'll meet you up there. I'll bring some OM-15 for us to sniff.
Oh OM-15 aka riggers blood, that's a blast from the past. Did you ever use Skydrol hyd oil? I do want to get to St Michaels this year, a nice run out for the NiNE.
Hi Giles, look forward to the next video on the 9. If you are still doing instruction consider flying in the winter period from Spain or organizing a fly vac with mini trikes. Almost every day is CAVOK and not too many restricted air space limitations. I fly from Vilamartin ( close to Algodonales, halfway between Seville and Ronda) and there are plenty of microlight strips in the area. A short clip to get a feel of the area. ruclips.net/video/PCOcx0EJraQ/видео.html
Were you flew looks amazing and I can see why it would be CAVOK. I used to paraglide and paramotor in Agodonales a few years back. Thank you for sharing the short clip.
I think one of the best parts of flying is the moments between flying.
Those moments when you have time to realise what you have achieved.
Great round up mate. Chuffed that our camping trip made the list. Here’s to more adventures in 2024. 👍
Good on ya too Paul, love your videos too!
It's always a fun adventure when we fly together. Ali G, - Its the LAPD...lol

Hi Bernie and welcome to the channel. The light weight single seat flying is the best kept secret.
Great moments, I loved the zone crossing, as you know :-)
Cheers Terry, thanks for all.your help.
Just watched your lovely video of 2023 great content. Thanks
Hi Keith, it certainly was a busy year.
Brilliant to watch.....certainly looking at doing my licence
Its a wonderful privilege and journey Andy. Where do you think you would learn?
Great stuff, Giles. Here's to 2024 and hopefully joining you on some more adventures.
Hi Dan I hope you are on the mend and feeling better. Bring on 2024 for the adventure flying.
Mega omg the bridges !! And ofcourse my home home airfield !
Hi Clive, can you see why I had to include both flights. I thought you'd seen the Diversion video to Husbands Bosworth already?
Fantastic year flying. Looking forward to seeing what 2024 brings. Loved the Flamping video with Paul, what a laugh. 🤙
