    Wonderful. Ronnie Corbet was a great comedian. He did lots of routines like this as well as a great joke teller. Wish we had talent like this today.

    That ballet slipper flying through the air and the Maypole mishap are hysterical! The whole thing is fabulous.... and the professional dancers were truly great sports in this skit!!! I agree I don't how they kept from collapsing into laughter throughout Ronnie's "dancing." Talk about the ballerina from hell!!

    I remember these spoofs with great affection, and wish that there was anyone now as talented as the Ronnies. They never treated their professional guests with anything less than utter respect, and only worked with the best in their profession.

    Watched the 2 Ronnie's when the shows were first televised. After all these years never fails to make me smile. Keep showing clips of these comedians what about Morecame and Wise. They were brilliant too

    The ballerina putting Ronnie's shoe back on, timing never missed a beat. Brilliant comedy with not a spoken word. Don't know how old Ronnie was when he did this piece but his flexibility would be the envy of many. The speed of his footwork at the start was amazing.

      The name escapes me, at the moment, of the dancer (maybe Kim??) who puts Ronnie’s shoe back on but she was from Sydney whereas the rest of us were from Melbourne. The year was 1979 so you may be able to work out how old he was if you look up his date of birth. I hope this helps 🙂

      @@MaryanneLeavey I took ballet, jazz, tap, and en pointe from Miss Ruth Barnes in Pennsylvania when I was young. She said that she had once taught Marlene Deitrich, and somehow I thought that was related to a time in Australia.

    I believe I first saw this on TV 1.
    Yes here in NZ.
    I have shown it to my Lady just now and we both had a Great laugh.
    The TWO RONNIE'S worked so well together.
    We love British humor.
    Plus I think Dawn French also does a similar skit.

    I remember watching Trockadero (sp)as a small child, at least 60 years. SO funny! Large, out-of-shape, hairy, white men in tutus dancing clumsily what I thought was serious ballet.

    It always amazes me to think how creative those old teachers were. It’s hard to see this kind of creativity nowadays. Only once a while. Most artists they don’t really put the heart to it or to improve it. The funny girls are probably the last batch. 😓

    O this takes me back the best great comedy that can not be repeated in this day and age. Laughter seems to be a thing of the past the young don’t know what they are missing. The two Ronnie.s were the best of British comedy so glad I lived through those years.

    That was hysterical. As noted by others, the professionalism of the real dancers made Ronnie Corbett's part that much better. Was this done in Australia? The beverage looked like that famous "oil can" of Fosters beer.

    The bad dancer is the star of the show they are there as backup dancers. How good they are shows how bad the star is hence the humor

    That about summed up my attempt at my ballet classes when I was about 11. Except our ballet shoes had Criss cross ribbons- which mine would always slide down into a heap at my ankles!
