Omg I feel so dumb right now T.T I wish I watched this video before starting to teach, I am an extremely introverted person and I am struggling with the teaching thing wondering if I can actually be a good teacher :( you described me exactly how I think the students look me sometimes in the first clip, and it´s embarrasing to admit it bc I keep self-sabotaging instead of trying to be more confident. Thank you for the video, there are some points I still need to improve like the tone of the voice, the confidence and the last tip is a gem tbh, I am going to put it on practice, I always study and review my lessons but I think I still need to study even more in order to become like the queen in the topic lmao, thank u for the video!!!

These are perfect tips, and "knowing/mastering the subject that you are teaching always, always worked for me. My students in high school and at the university where I teach as an adjunct love it when they see that I know what the heck I'm teaching and make them part of the studies and subject at hand. Benefits both of us.

i'm currently 16 and i've been hired by one of my ex-teachers to help her during english tutoring (i'm self taught, so doing all the explaining can be both hard and exhausting when dealing with children). i currently struggle a bunch with keeping 9-10 year olds engaged in class. i noticed i might be lacking presence or even authority in the classroom (which hinders the quality of the classes) so these tips are great! thank you for this video :)

@@premeraespada1723 Fair points. I also get anxious when students stare at me lol. So my best tip here: make sure you like your hair and outfit. Be neat and put together. Teachers are the same as actors/celebs. Just a little less famous😅

@@rubyjendek1961 aren't we all actors? You know, this is what I don't understand - we are all the same. Everyone is trying to be someone they are not and as a result, we all are terribly lonely. But nobody understands; maybe some do but they just can't embrace the loneliness. We need to embrace loneliness to become who we truly are.

I tried teching in a language centre for a year and a half and despite learning to project a confident facade never got comfortable with it, just became more insecure and toxic. Taking a break for now, dunno if it's even worth it 🤨

I will say the connection with the students is what helps them retain information more especially if you relate the content to their level and ideas. Connections are key. But just a personal opinion, this has been working for me! Not all classrooms are the same 😊
