This is chapter 2 in the “Matt and Heisel film an episode together” saga. This one really had me putting my set construction skills to work, and I think my labor paid off to make another stellar piece of EE93 world building. Thanks again for letting me be part of these videos Matt!
So this is the origin of Young Tucker eh? I assume the whole idea stemmed from those scrap models of Thomas always being in the model series? I like how it gave light to the Experimental Engines and Diesel 10. Brilliant story!
This is just SO beautiful Matt! From the sets, to the storyline; everything just works so perfectly! Glad I could help out with this one, I’ll be ready for anything else you through at me🙂
The title alone is a win in my eyes. I love how you focused on a subject most people would try to build a dark or depressing story around and made it wholesome. The extra bit of backstory for certain characters was also really nice to see. Overall this was a really sweet episode with a simple, charming story and plenty of wonderful Easter eggs here and there.
This is a wonderful little bundle of wholesomeness that I needed this month. Simple, but clever. P.S. Love that little cameo of Christine in the workshops. Wink wink.
I love how this explains Season 1 so well. And then getting into JBS and Diesel 10 and Young Tucker, and OH WOW that was great. Couldn't help but notice the zero on pre-Tucker's rusty side. I love that song you used in the credits. This explains so much, it honestly does, and I'm extremely interested in your interpretation of the JBS characters. As someone who hates JBS, I am legitimately intrigued.
This could be a new mini-series or a new series altogether!!! I love how you threw together so many concepts of the series and making reference to them such as Diesel 10, Oliver, Timothy, Young Tucker your custom character and Journey Beyond Sodor!!!!
Ooooh this just made things super interesting!! Young Tucker, D10, and JBS trio all in one!! I’m curious to see if we’ll learn more about this benefactor, and his connection to Norramby too...
Half-way in I had a feeling this was a backstory for a certain young engine... and I was still pleasantly surprised! Also I find it amazing how you flawlessly managed to tie in elements from different eras into your series lore. This raises some interesting questions: Since the experimental engines were going to be part of a heritage/museum railway type deal, does this mean they were abandoned? Or maybe the original owners purposely hid them away to protect them from Diesel 10? He IS possibly the reason the project feel apart, or at least had a part in it. I honestly hope we get a more in-depth explanation at some point. I wanna know more about this benefactor character too...
I love that the universally accepted thing in the thomas and friends fan community is the fact generally everyone's headcanon/go-to voice for Toby is Tines and Edward's is EE93. Great video as always!
Fantastic Job to both you Matt and Heisel together! The clever dialogue, connection of lore and wonderful direction! Looking forward to much more from both of you in the future!
Considering the first few stories behind the origins of that said engine I hope this can continue on to make it where Thomas can have a brother/sister and not be the only one of his class anymore
As soon as I saw Henry pulling the E2 for restoration I knew that this was going to be a Young Tucker prequel 😁 Very clever EE93, great work to everyone involved!
Wow! Very nice episode. Nice to see the origins of young tucker. And it was clever to have the scrap engine be Timothy the number zero. Looking forward to the new season three episode. :)
Young Tucker!! It's been sooo long. If this is his origin story, then good job, so far. And let him become Thomas' younger brother, I've always imagined that.
This is so great, really gives a lot of needed background on Young Tucker! Such a great little story! Also very interesting what you did with the experimental engines! Excellent job!
Oh my goodness Matt you and Heisel did a great job with this it's so surprising that this is how young Tucker came to be keep up the good work never stop being enterprising
Getting a lot more clever with the titles I see?! An origin story for Young Tucker eh? I was wondering when we were going to get an episode like this. Despite the premise of the story it is surprisingly upbeat. I love the scrapped engine custom. furfusedloco did a great job! Story, music, voice, sets, and camera work are brilliant as always Matt! Keep up the good work! Enjoy your weekend!
I remember posting a comment about “E2 Brute” In your videos a while back. When i saw this, my eyes widened! & very nice video excluding that jump at the end.
Here is the TRUE story of timothy! It all happened in the year 1915, on october 31st, at mid-night. Timothy was pulling a late-night passenger train. Timothy was waiting at the station when his driver and fireman went into the station to use the loo. Timothy waited and waited when all of a sudden, a strange thin man with a thin black hat and a twirly mustache climbed abourd timothy's cab. Timothy: Oh driver, there you are. Are we ready to go? Stranger: sure thing. When timothy's crew came out from the station, they saw timothy and the coaches left the station! Timothy can see the station. Timothy: Driver, we're coming up to the station. Timothy was about to stop, but he couldn't! Timothy was out of control! Timothy: DRIVER, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! APPLY THE BREAKS NOW! But the strange man didn't apply the breaks, he made timothy go faster and faster! Timothy was heading to the unfinished viaduct! Stranger: NYAHAHAHAHAHA! YOU'RE PASSENGERS ARE GOING TO END UP IN THE GRAVE, ALONG WITH YOU! NYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! TIMOTHY: WHAT?! They were getting closer and closer! Stranger: THIS IS IT! PREPARE TO MEET YOU'RE DOOM! Timothy: I don't think so. Stranger: what? Then timothy shaked the coaches so hard that they were all uncoupled from him. The coaches stopped! Stranger: NO! timothy: YES! STRANGER: I think this where you get of. Then the stranger jumped out of timothy's cab. Timothy plunged in to the reveane. Timothy: AAAAAAAAAAHHH! (:CRASH!:) THE PASSENGERS WE'RE ALL SAVED! Stranger: CURSES! policeman: ahem! Stranger: oh drat! The next day: timothy was hualled out of the reveane, unfortunetely, timothy was beyond repaired. The workmen tried to fix him up, but they couldn't. before timothy was sold for scrap, the passengers who he saved came to say there goodbye and thank you to him. As for the stranger who tried to harm timothy and the passengers, was exacuted. And that is the TRUE story of timothy!
Young Tucker was build from Timothy's(Thomas's Brother)Old Body,he was Only painted Red,but ALL the rest was left from the Old E2,even the number 0,Tucker was build from Timothy's remaines, confirming that Timothy was on Sodor before Thomas arrive in 1915.
Enterprising Engines, why do I get a chilling feeling that the scrap engine is Timothy. Because i think what looks like a zero on it’s side? Is that really Timothy? Or someone else
That was great Matt, what I love about the stories people make about filling in gaps of tales we would of never known i the show and the books are truly remarkable, and the tank engine I know who it is a young engine named after a little boy so amazing. I also have question about your series enterprising engines, is season 3 spread out, since it was first made in 20...14 to 2020 or does it still take place in the same year. Does that make sense ( I don’t know anymore, man I need a drink) keep up the great work have a good one
WAIT A SECOND so I'm putting the pieces together : so young Tucker was named after a child who painted 13 on his side (I think) and he's unlucky because he's TIMOTHY THE GHOST ENGINE (I know bc of the number on the scrap engine)
Oso I must admit I admire your work you have twice as many engines as I do like I only have the steam team a few diesels and a few side characters I don't even have as many trucks as you do
I always wondered what would happen if you built an engine out of entirely spare parts from scrapped engines in the Thomas universe. Would that be a Frankenstein engine? Or a completely new character?
Gotta love how this is an origin story for one of your most famous engines on this series! And what a sweet origin, too! Lovely work here, man!
Tines Sensahthe um hi there, big fan of your series, i know you've been asked alot on tatam, so i wont ask, just saying im looking forward to it

Rest in Peace, mate... you're a gift to the fandom.🤗

Awwww! Young Tucker is so cute! I can imagine an engine being named after him, red, looks like Thomas.
No that would be stupid. It would be worse if they paired him up with Molly smh
That did hapened xD

i loved this so much Matt. Loved animating for this one :P
Emotional and beautiful episode.
I was surprised at the end of Tucker, until the end where Tucker (from S2) came to be.
So this is the origin of Tucker.
The ending really made me jump for a second!
Seriously though... great job on the episode. Feels like a prequel to Young Tucker!

I like the interaction between the fat controller and Thomas, it’s some friendly interaction we haven’t really seen before and it’s nice!

What do you mean possibly? I bet he IS the reason. I mean, they had a picture of his claw when he said the project fell apart.
Diesel 10 being Diesel 10 probably made people realize that, sometimes, experiments are stopped for a reason
Now that was an unexpected ending. This was a sweet little story Matt! Wonderful work!
I’ve watched this three times now it’s just that good! I really enjoyed this, wonderful work by both you and Heisel!
