With Uka-Uka and Cortex's conversation, I kinda prefer the original, because of Clancy Brown's performance making Uka-Uka more intimidating and menacing, plus the detail of the red aura around him and keeping his face in shadow to add to the mysterious and intimidating puppet master. I like John DiMaggio's performance, and maybe it's just nostalgia talking, but Clancy Brown really made Uka-Uka. With Aku-Aku and the heroes, I like both the old and new, because both voice actors did Aku-Aku's fatherly, and wise tone perfectly.
I think the main thing I preferred with the original was Uka-Uka holding one position throughout the cutscene. It added a lot more menace with him more or less staying stationary and keeping his full (incredibly angry) attention on Cortex rather than looking all about as he speaks. As for the voice itself, I think Clancy Brown was a little better in delivering more of a Boom/Baritone as Uka-Uka. John DiMaggio can pull off a deep voice, but whether its the direction or the effects, here he sounds a bit more raspy, which doesn't have quite the all-powerful effect the role is going for.
@@CalicoJackal When it comes to Uka-Uka, Clancy Brown can't be beat, because he has that natural intimidation factor that Uka-Uka has, despite being a talking Tiki Voodoo mask, but I'll definitely give John DiMaggio props for succeeding him.
I hate to be that guy but mannnn the originals conveyed more coolness, and better atmosphere. Especially with Uka Uka in the darkness and how more intimidated he was, with N Trophy in the background in the shadows.
1) 0:33 and 2:01 Aku Aku talking sounds so weird 😑 2) Uka Uka voice in the original was far superior and intimidating not to mention that the darker theme with the red aura and N.Trophy on the background was pretty epic. 3) also where is the angry polar once they exit the house?? They should have included that from the original 🥺 In my opinion this intro doesn't even come close to the original in terms of pretty much everything.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane trilogy is the best thing to happened to the franchise, and the best remaster next to Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled. The visuals and animation in the intro are amazing! Sure looks "better" than the original (eg. more facial expressions, but come one: PS1 had it's own limits, and the original is still lookin' good for me)
I agree on the visual but I disagree gameplay wise, the controls in the remastered versions feel weird in compare to the original games, they could've done the controls a bit differently and make crash feel less heavy, because of that reason I hardly enjoy the remasters personally
Uka Uka and Aku Aku sounds good but og's a better. Hell the original's intro is just overall better. Uka Uka sounded so menacing in the og game when he laughed and said he was free at last

In all honesty, looking at these Crash and Spyro remasters, they look nice and polished with today’s graphics no doubt, but honestly they’re not as memorable or as atmospheric as the old games.
Agreed. It's like they want to show off all the smooth animations so much that the characters end up doing nonsensical stuff. Like at 1:10, what on earth is Uka Uka looking at? It's just so pointless. The facial expressions are unnecessarily wacky as well. Also missing some cool details, like how the clock on N. Tropy's head used have two hands spinning in opposite directions (kinda indicating he was a master of time), now it's just an ordinary clock spinning fast.
Not the same without Tropy's silhouette in the backround, and then the walk forward....
Yeah in this version they took a different look on the animations
I think it looks way better. I love Uka Uka’s new voice. It is just all around better.
That was the coolest thing in the original cutscene.
I really like the part when polar cowering in fear. He is really shown his cuteness when he is scared.
He is adorable as hell too

Absolutely! They did a good job but the original was much more menacing, especially like you say with Uka-Uka in shadow for the whole scene.

John DiMaggio really did his homework with his Uka-Uka performance.
