Speedy game! Great job. I used to play Steve when I lived in Florida. He challenged MENHIRS when I played him. Very solid player. He lovingly went by the anagram of his last name back then. (:
I wouldn't think of overdrawing by one as a major mistake. Doing so carries a lot of hindsight bias (at least IMO), especially given how much weight you give to the fact that it was an S that was returned to the bag. For all intents and purposes, it amounts to saying "ah, it was my fault I didn't draw an S when given the opportunity" (i.e. if the S was the eigth letter that you drew from the bag). But maybe there's math to prove me wrong. I honestly didn't bother going through the motions of 1) establishing how many "good" and "bad" tiles there are, 2) how likely it was to draw ones or the others and 3) how much getting to choose one of three tiles (usually the "best") would drop the quality of a draw on average.
I've done a bit of research, and overdrawing seems to average out at around a 4-5 point mistake. So not huge, but significant. In this case, the mistake was a lot larger, but this is an edge case, as it would be with the blank. Sometimes, overdrawing actually helps you. In a recent game, I overdrew and my opponent turned over three O's. He didn't want to, but had to throw one back in the bag :)
Cheers Josh well played. Great editing btw, I love watching Scrabble but watching live games you can spend 10 minutes just watching a player think about a move ... then play GERL lol
Oh, OK I saw that he told you that it wasn't good. I want to thank you for all the scrabble Contant. Oh by the way, this is Frankie… I had mentioned before that I play scrabble with my friends on the weekend here in China at Starbucks. I've only been playing for about three years now. Notoriously bad speller I am. My goal is to try to remember as many words as I can possibly can. I find it difficult to memorize. I know I will never be as good as you or any other professional scrabble player. We only play CWS… Just so many more words. And of course the ZE ZO ZA really do come in handy. I try to learn new words and it's beneficial to me, but as soon as I play a new word my friends remember it. They are not watching scrabble contact like I do. My two latest words were EEJIT and MZEE.@@axcertypo
"hoping for a straight draw" - earned a like

He still has a board with TRASHMAN on it.
What an interesting game. A classic come from behind win for our hero and I dig how squiggly the board is at the end.

FROCKY... do you tell him it is a fake ? Or only if he asks...?
I thought it was likely to be a valid word. He checked at the very end, you can see my reaction
