    my immediate analysis as a total amateur: DELINKING is a play made by someone who had never gotten to play a 9-letter word in scrabble before and was too excited to evaluate that play on the merits

    I wonder if wrathkahn could have been Robert Kahn? He was rated a bit higher, but he did sometimes makes some surprising choices during games.

    • @psymar
      @psymar 15 дней назад +1

      That would explain the spelling of Kahn as the referenced media is star trek's The Wrath Of Khan which is spelled different

    The SOPRANI/ATROPINS miss could be a word knowledge issue instead of an oversight.The second game did have mostly common words.

  • @blueboybob
    @blueboybob 15 дней назад +1

    You should make some wordle videos. Your word knowledge is clearly insane but id love to hear your thought pattern on word choice for wordle.
    You could do a daily solve video or once a week of all the wordles for the week.

    Mack I'm trying to figure out how to do a modified Scrabble against Quackle but can't seem to figure it out. Can you please maybe do a tutorial on it (Or explain to me plz)? Thank you!

    • @mackmeller
      @mackmeller  9 дней назад

      You have to go into the Program Files folder for Quackle, then data --> alphabets and then duplicate the english.quackle_alphabet file and modify it to the desired parameters. Make sure you save it using the same quackle_alphabet extension. Hope that helps!

    It hurts my soul to not know what DELINKING's Elo is. I'm a novice and just by watching a few grandmasters over a few months I know blanks are worth more than that. Heck, a few of the people I watch WILL NOT use a blank outside of a bingo unless it's the end of the game and there are no lanes. And even then they might hang on to it to deny opponent the countback.

    • @msolec2000
      @msolec2000 15 дней назад +1

      There are good uses of a blank in a non-bingo, but they are few. One case might be reaching a word score with it when you have some high tiles in the word. But yeah, usually you want the bingo with it.

      @@msolec2000Would using a blank for ZQJX bombs also be worth it?

    • @BrettMKW
      @BrettMKW 15 дней назад +2

      @@maxxiong Possibly, depends on the situation. If you have two blanks it's usually not a bad idea to burn one of them for a decent score and try to bingo with the other, as opposed to scoring a bingo with both blanks.

      It feels to me like either: 1) someone playing an online game who wasn't actually tryharding like they would at a tournament, and couldn't resist the cool factor of the 9-letter triple extension, or
      2) someone who hadn't played a 9 before and the emotion of getting to do that nixed any chance of thinking further.
      Given how well they played the rest of the game I'm guessing this is an expert who just decided to goof off on that play, maybe they were streaming and wanted the kahntent
