Hey Josh! I really enjoy these recaps. I met your cousin at a chess tournament in NYC today, and he told me that it was the first time in his life that he was asked if he was related to Josh Sokol the scrabble player. Lmao
I wouldn't have thought of STEALER as being legal, I was expecting RELATES. Also even if I knew the word I think I would've traded tiles over playing DUIT, with 2 Is and no Us left you'll almost certainly get something playable and maybe then your opponent will draw all those Is! I'm curious what Quackle thinks of that position.
Feel free to follow the link in the description showing the full annotation. I ran each position with Quackle and DUIT was clearly ahead of exchanging, since even if my opponent drew the iiiu next turn, he would not be down by 10 at that stage and would most certainly have a big enough cushion to win as long as I didn't draw a bingo. With DUIT I can win without a bingo, and given the board state, trying to get a bingo would be quite difficult, even with good letters. Still, it's worth considering an exchange, which is what I was doing for the seconds preceding me putting DUIT on the board

NEARISH is a relatively new word, I'm not sure I knew that word before watching this video. Thanks for the interesting game.
