Lenovo makes such cool rigs that go on sale so quickly. They aren't QUITE as polished as the top of the line Dell or HP but You CAN get a display that is amazing with awesome pen support and a keyboard that'll shame other manufacturers. Out of curiosity, are You going to do a vid about the announcements from Linux and Microsoft saying they are now down with Apple M chip compatibility? Keep up the top notch work!
1:55 aside from the slot being filled it also has to be the same size so 8gb soldered and 8gb in the slot. This is the only way it’ll run dual channel. You can have a 16gb stick in there to increase RAM but it will not be dual channel.
Great review. Just please note that the fingerprint scanner doesn't work with linux. And as you said the display is not great. Otherwise a performant, quiet machine.
300 nits is a deal breaker, and along with the 16:9 aspect ratio, the display is a letdown in this era of 400 nits+, 2.8K, 120Hz. And let us remember that it is $1700 for the i7/256gb/16gb, though obviously discounted as it is now 12th gen in a 13th gen market. With price rises, the new model will likely exceed $1900, but hopefully, you will get a better display in line with expectations in 2023. Easy pass.
