I find it so impressive that Toyota puts its Toyota Safety Sense standard on all its car. Luxury car sometimes makes customers pay extra for those. It’s just like what they did back in 2010 by making their STAR Safety System as standard.

I think the ncaps are now a bit too strict with their stuff. A centre airbag is lovely but the rating should be determined on injuries. In Australia the mg3 is the most popular light car but they won’t test it because it doesn’t have a centre airbag 😭

Not my car, the massive A-pillar failure in offset crash shows the drivers compartment on the edge of collapsing. Just look at the intrusions at 0:22 I think Toyota needs to redesign. Beyond this speed no airbags will help you. Even the Mitsubishi Mirage performs better.

Because as soon as they stop testing for it, the automakers will almost certainly find a way to cut costs while passing the other tests. We saw this with the offset tests, when that started many companies only reinforced the side that was being tested at the time. Anything to save a dollar

They do the AEB tests a lot of times, some of the scoring goes down to consistency of stopping
There are for sure other parameters. It's not 100 if you don't hit pedestrian and 0 if you hit him.
