A Sunday morning at Central Station - Sydney Trains

- In this video we see a number of trains at Sydney's Central station. With a total of 25 platforms it's Australia's largest railway station and the busiest in New South Wales, serving as the terminus for NSW Trainlink interurban & interstate trains as well as being served by most Sydney Trains' suburban lines.
This video was filmed from suburban platforms 16 - 23 shortly after I finished my XPT ride from Melbourne. Being a weekend however pretty much the only train we see is the Waratah (A Set) which is the newest train in the Sydney Trains fleet. If there's one video that shows how much Sydney Trains love their Waratah's, this is pretty much it. Despite all of this we also see one Millennium (M Set).
Local buffs tell me that Sydney Trains have enough rollingstock that the modern Waratah's and Millenniums are enough to cover services across the network on the weekends (with the obvious exception of the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra line) which means that none of the older silver sets or Tangara's are seen.
To make up for this we do see some heritage trains at the end of the video. At the time of filming the Transport Heritage Expo was on which saw a number of heritage trains & buses on display during the Queens Birthday long weekend with some running shuttles between Central and suburban destinations.
Date: 12th June 2016.
Extremely nice video the way Central Station used to look like in 2016 and I extremely miss the way Central Station used to look like in 2016.
Thank s for giving train videos
Glad you liked it!
Damn miss those South Line services
Thank s
And lol yes there is enough services to cover up on weekends as Waratah trains and Millennium trains on Sector 2 lines. You'd be surprised at one time after Boxing Day in midnight I spotted an S set passing Burwood looks like bound for city circle via Town Hall last year. I have seen couple of times seen a K set operate sector 2 on a weekend.
I heard seagulls at 1:31
They go as far inland as Parramatta sometimes (following the river)
Iu
I only wait for an S set round city circle via Town Hall as long as it's not S43, S123, S124, S127 or S135.

What time is first train out from central in the mornings
Joshua Harper The first official train out of Central is some weird route at 4:17am It’s a Redfern to Turrella via City Circle (Town Hall) and Airport Stations. The first proper commuter route would be Emu Plains (3:09am dep) to Berowra (5:28am arr). It departs Central at 4:24am on a normal weekday morning.
