Can one screw on the tlr7 hlx cap to the tlr7x?

No. The electronics have been upgraded and the older 7’s don’t support the new head.

Is the rechargeable battery able to be used in an original trl7?

I believe so since the X is just the 7 with the usb battery.

Some TLR-7 holsters might, it’s basically the same except the battery and lens, but it’s probably gonna take a little while for holsters to come out for it.
