뮤지션 에릭남의 ‘솔직한 음악’으로 채워진 세 번째 미니앨범 ‘Honestly’
달콤하고 로맨틱한 남자의 대명사와도 같았던 에릭남이 그 동안의 이미지와 사뭇 다른 음악으로 돌아온다. 2년만에 발매하는 미니앨범 ‘Honestly’를 통해 지금까지 보여주지 못한, 그러나 꼭 보여주고 싶었던 색다른 모습을 꺼내 보이려 한다.
미니앨범 ‘Honestly’는 에릭남이 진정 하고 싶었던 음악들로만 이루어졌다. 에릭남이 수록된 전곡의 작사 및 작곡, 앨범 프로듀싱까지 직접 참여해 자신만의 색깔로 가득 채웠고, 뮤지션으로서의 입지를 다시 한 번 굳혔다.

I knew he had a korean version and an english version of this song but I did not know the contexts of both were completely different. I've never seen the translated lyrics because I just assumed it was the same as the english version but it's hella not. The english version is him being in an open relationship and realizing it hurts to see that person with someone else and he wishes that they felt the same hurt when they see him with someone else.
Then the korean version is about him trying to confess that he doesn't love them anymore. Its kinda amazing in a way because the english lyrics in this song are the same but in a completely different context. I fucking love him holy hell. I should of known after I saw how different the two versions of Runaway were- oh my god I have to look up I don't miss you now and see if those are different.
I don't miss you's Korean version is about a post-break up situation where you're convincing yourself to not miss your ex, the phase where you try to break away from the habits. The English version is very blunt, literally telling your ex that you want to break up unapologetically. I am amazed how he could have two songs that are exactly the same but have two different context.

the same is the case with Eric's Runaway english version and korean version, korean version is them wanting to runaway from the world and spend a lot of time together with nobody to disturb them, the kinda song you listen to on long drives ya know? whereas the english version is about the girl leaving him and now wanting to have him in her life again, and he's rejecting her. (do try both out, they're b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l)

So San Miguel de Allende is my mom’s hometown and she stumbled upon the teaser Eric put out on FB and has been anxious to see the mv for the longest.
I finally showed her and she teared up seeing her home, occasionally letting out an ‘aawww’ and ‘he’s so handsome, and his music is good!’ lol she’s absolutely smitten with Eric now and thinks he’s the most precious thing ever.🙆♀️💗 She’s so happy and proud Eric chose Guanajuato of all places to shoot his mv.
