I always feel bad for Eric whenever WGM is brought up. He’s expressed a few times how talking about the show now makes him uncomfortable, not bc he didn’t like Solar or anything. They’re actually still friends and I think he’s even said that the other MMM members still call him brother-in-law in Korean. It’s bc he knows that talking about it and bringing up Solar and WGM could potentially cause both of them trouble with toxic fans from both fandoms. It’s not Jessi’s fault, I’m not blaming her bc obviously she didn’t know. I just hope that in the future, there’s a bit more mindfulness in terms of the topics they talk about.
Actually, I forgot if Eric or Solar brought it up, but one of them said they barely even speak to each anymore unless they meet each other during their schedules and do a quick greeting. The toxic WGM fans pushed both of them to feel uncomfortable and awkward around each other and they hold no ill will for each other, but they aren’t really close anymore. More like colleagues or acquaintances than anything now :/
Korean fandoms are kind of insane. You look at the gaming scene also and what they did recently with SKT when they tried to hire someone they didn't like as coach, and the previous coach getting death threats for roster decisions. Imagine getting so overly invested in someone else's life you rent a truck with signs to circle around their office...these people need to learn how to chill and mind their own businesses
Honestly, I was looking for this comment. I watched it like 6 months ago and fell in love with the couple. I'm surprised they still bring it up because when I was searching it, I felt bad when I learned how uncomfortable it made him and I cried out of frustration because their personalities genuinely matched and they brought out different sides, but the fandom won't let them be happy. Also imo, Korean celebs should be allowed to date and stuff at 30 because they should be able to find love somehow and get married and watch their kids grow up :(
I love the two individually and together but honestly I feel so bad for Eric because when he goes to interviews, all the topics they talk about is either him being from America, being a talk show hosts to super famous people, or being in WGM with Solar. It's like there's nothing else interesting about Eric to talk about.
Yeah, the thing is, the whole show and experience probably wouldn't have been so uncomfortable for him and Solar had people not ruined it with all the hate or extreme shipping of the two of them. It's pretty much ruined any chance of a potential friendship between the two of them. Because if they ever interact, it gets blown out of proportions. They have both stated several times over the years that they hold no ill feelings towards each other but there's nothing between them besides being singers who work in the same industry. Like they'll great each other when their paths cross and yes, the Mamamoo members still call him brother in law, but that's about it. And I definitely think that's due to the insane amount of backlash they both got FOR A SHOW. Like it's been YEARS and its still happening. Which is why I feel so bad for them. Like what was just supposed to be a fun show experience has now affected both their lives to the point they can't talk about each other. Of course, like you said, it's not Jessi's or any of the shows fault because most of them don't know the degree of hate they get about it, even years later. To them, it's was a show that Eric and Solar were known and popular on and that's it.
I honestly thought Eric and Solar on WGM were really cute and funny, Erics recently opened up about getting hate for his pairing with solar, and solar received hate too she even got it from past friends who personally new her, but tbh they have nothing to feel guilty about, people are just too delulu, their pairing was hella cute and entertaining

I always feel bad for Eric whenever WGM is brought up. He’s expressed a few times how talking about the show now makes him uncomfortable, not bc he didn’t like Solar or anything. They’re actually still friends and I think he’s even said that the other MMM members still call him brother-in-law in Korean. It’s bc he knows that talking about it and bringing up Solar and WGM could potentially cause both of them trouble with toxic fans from both fandoms.
It’s not Jessi’s fault, I’m not blaming her bc obviously she didn’t know. I just hope that in the future, there’s a bit more mindfulness in terms of the topics they talk about.
Actually, I forgot if Eric or Solar brought it up, but one of them said they barely even speak to each anymore unless they meet each other during their schedules and do a quick greeting. The toxic WGM fans pushed both of them to feel uncomfortable and awkward around each other and they hold no ill will for each other, but they aren’t really close anymore. More like colleagues or acquaintances than anything now :/
Korean fandoms are kind of insane. You look at the gaming scene also and what they did recently with SKT when they tried to hire someone they didn't like as coach, and the previous coach getting death threats for roster decisions. Imagine getting so overly invested in someone else's life you rent a truck with signs to circle around their office...these people need to learn how to chill and mind their own businesses
Honestly, I was looking for this comment. I watched it like 6 months ago and fell in love with the couple. I'm surprised they still bring it up because when I was searching it, I felt bad when I learned how uncomfortable it made him and I cried out of frustration because their personalities genuinely matched and they brought out different sides, but the fandom won't let them be happy.
Also imo, Korean celebs should be allowed to date and stuff at 30 because they should be able to find love somehow and get married and watch their kids grow up :(
I love the two individually and together but honestly I feel so bad for Eric because when he goes to interviews, all the topics they talk about is either him being from America, being a talk show hosts to super famous people, or being in WGM with Solar. It's like there's nothing else interesting about Eric to talk about.
Yeah, the thing is, the whole show and experience probably wouldn't have been so uncomfortable for him and Solar had people not ruined it with all the hate or extreme shipping of the two of them. It's pretty much ruined any chance of a potential friendship between the two of them. Because if they ever interact, it gets blown out of proportions. They have both stated several times over the years that they hold no ill feelings towards each other but there's nothing between them besides being singers who work in the same industry. Like they'll great each other when their paths cross and yes, the Mamamoo members still call him brother in law, but that's about it. And I definitely think that's due to the insane amount of backlash they both got FOR A SHOW. Like it's been YEARS and its still happening. Which is why I feel so bad for them. Like what was just supposed to be a fun show experience has now affected both their lives to the point they can't talk about each other.
Of course, like you said, it's not Jessi's or any of the shows fault because most of them don't know the degree of hate they get about it, even years later. To them, it's was a show that Eric and Solar were known and popular on and that's it.
This was so chaotic, I'm loving this duo, we need more content like this 😂😂😂
